Playboy TV network reality shows (fake/scripted or real)
DownunderFun replied to Pklon's topic in Swingers Talk
Sometimes the vetting process is not as thorough as it should be and some newbies have mislead producers as to their level of involvement in the Lifestyle. Ideally couples should have 'some' experience behind them to ensure there will be some action in the show. There is also a lot of behind the scenes action that simply doesn't make it to air. Trying to cut down 20 hours of filming to a 45 minute show can be tough and may not necessarily flow, making it look scripted. -
Playboy TV network reality shows (fake/scripted or real)

We actually know couples who have been on Swing and they're not fake at all. Some of the other shows you mentioned are scripted or guided, but there is still an element of reality. Swing Season 5 is about to begin along with Swing Open House. Definitely not fake. -
Starting to talk and hit a roadblock
DownunderFun replied to Chickn70's topic in Curious About Swinging?
I always advise those thinking about swinging to watch Swing. There's a new season starting but you can still get all the old episodes. It's great to watch it as a couple and discuss what's going on in the show to see how each of you feel about it. There's also a new spin off called Swing Open House which has the former new couples who turned into resident couples talking about their journeys. I think they show breaks down many stigmas attached to the Lifestyle. -
This is an interesting topic and got me thinking (and looking). I generally don't list my weight because I'm 5'10" and athletic (you know the old saying muscle weighs more than fat) so my listing it, it makes me sound heavy, when in fact I'm not fat at all. My photos are completely accurate and people can see my physique in them. I should probably just put my weight in thinking about it, because of someone is that superficial to cull me based on that, then I don't want to meet them anyway! Thanks for bringing it up, I learned something about myself today.

Is this your first marriage?
DownunderFun replied to JustAskJulie's topic in Polls & Never-Ending Threads
This is the 2nd time around for both of us, although not going through the formal process of marriage again. We're very happy, committed and have found the Lifestyle extremely satisfying for us. -
We saw this show a few months back when it was aired here and wrote on our blog about it. Since then Lovelace and Dana have split. Not that you couldn't see it coming. The show frustrated me in its portrayal of people in the Lifestyle. But I guess most of us normal/stable couples (I don't mean disrespect to the couples on the show) probably wouldn't be keen on the whole world knowing our business on the world stage. If only there was a way do participate in the show and superimpose someone else's head on our bodies.

I too agree that asking for profile names is perfectly acceptable if the host has not posted it on a site or group. That's not tacky at all and here is why. If you're going to a resort, you have a week or so to figure out who is who, who you gel with and who you don't. But at a house party you have a few hours to figure all that out, so having some background knowledge really speeds up the process. If the host does not do it, perhaps it's something you can suggest.

Playboy TV's Swing?
DownunderFun replied to SabrinaSwings's topic in Swingers and Sex Positivity in the News
I don't think it's devious, it's clearly stated it will re-bill unless you cancel. I cancelled my trial no problems online. They offered a discounted subscription as an option and I just opted out. Common for most trials of anything (gyms, etc.). I know they also offer refunds if you are re-billed without reading the fine print. Just like anything in life, read what your signing/buying. Regarding credit cards, I bank with a smaller credit union that is very touchy about any transactions. They call me whenever I'm overseas to verify transactions and wouldn't process my Playboy TV transaction. The major bank I also have a card with works online always. The transaction for Playboy originates from Ireland.- 18 replies

It is perfectly normal. Holli and Michael gave a de-brief on that issue on 'Swing Nightcap Live' after an episode where the guy lost his erection. The number one thing you need to know, is that almost all guys as some stage in their lives will have an incident where they can't get an erection. Don't feel bad, it's not the end of the world, it just hurts the ego for a little while. My man uses a natural supplement (Zenerect) when we play just as a precautionary measure and also to give him the confidence to know he can perform when tired or worn out. He finds it better and cheaper than popping blue pills and I have no complaints. Personally, I have been around the lifestyle long enough not to take it personally if a guy goes soft during play and will do everything in my power to make him feel comfortable and relaxed. When you find the RIGHT couple, they won't judge and will happily try again another time.

When does swinging come up in a relationship?
DownunderFun replied to Bearclaw's topic in Swingers Talk
We are both on our 'second time around' after both having sexually unfulfilling and controlling marriages. We had been friends for many years and when we started dating we were committed to each and decided to make up for lost time by exploring the lifestyle. We were both just on the same wavelength having experienced the same sexual frustrations for so many years. It just felt natural for us and we enjoy such an easy relationship with no hang-ups, drama or limitations. Being in the lifestyle doesn't rule our lives or define us as people, it's a leisure activity for us. Like people enjoy playing golf, we enjoy having fun times with special friends. What I really love about the lifestyle is that there is room for everyone. Whatever your preference, comfort level or kink is, everyone is welcome and accepted. I have never met more real people than I have in the Lifestyle.- 28 replies

I agree, it doesn't necessarily mean she wants to swing, but can I say it's great that she watches it as it can definitely lead to discussion about the lifestyle.

Is Real Life Swinging Like Porn?
DownunderFun replied to openingthedoor's topic in Curious About Swinging?
I think Playboy Swing is similar to a day at a Lifestyle resort or certain house parties. Meet at the pool, have a few drinks, chat to people, get to know them, then progress to some sexy fun. The TV show is filmed over 24 hours and in such a close knit group, you'll find that things can develop reasonably quickly. I think it's the most accurate portrayal I've seen on TV thus far. As a whole, the lifestyle may not necessarily play out like that all the time and sometimes you meet people you don't click with or people who stuff you around, but you just say thank you and move on. Just like everything else in life.
