It isn't ABnormal to do so. I think part of it depends on age. When I was 25, my then girlfriend made it a mission to see how many times she could get me to orgasm in one day (for the record, it was 7!). I think if you're young enough even masturbating several times a day is conceivable. The older you get, the less realistic that is.

When at home I never masturbate, there are too many alternatives that I prefer.  When I am traveling out-of-town for business, I usually get myself off two or three times a day - once in the morning, before I go to sleep, and sometimes when I first get back to my hotel room before dinner to relieve the stress of the day.  No toys, my fingers work well enough.

 

It is also the only time I look at porn, getting a view of things that I enjoy doing but can't see when I'm doing it.

Masturbation is assessed in nearly every comprehensive sex evaluation/survey, even in later years.
