Why are people so hesitant to be surgically safe?

Recommended Posts

In my case, the deductible makes this procedure prohibitively expensive, for now. My GF is an older woman who is not worried about pregnancy.

Also, if I did get snipped, I would like to get paternity insurance. As far as I know, this is unavailable....

As others have stated the Dr gave me orders (in writing) that we should have as much sex a possible as soon as I was comfortable and bring in a fresh sample after 15 ejaculations, we brought in the sample on wed. It was great seeing his jaw hit the floor.

Let me get this straight. In less than 48 hours after surgery you had 16 orgasms?!?

I bow in respect /o\

Not all swingers are in their 30's or older, or done having kids...or have even started having kids...

I'm 24, my S.O. is 29. We are not planning on having kids but I want the option open to me if in 9 years we decide we want kids. I am not old enough to consider life changing surgery like that and I would never consider playing with someone who was offended that I wasn't "fixed."

It is MY responsibility and my S.O.'s responsibility to keep from getting pregnant. No one else's. If I had to rely on other people to keep my woman theatre empty then I wouldn't be having sex. I'm on the pill (with perfect use) and we use condoms. We do what we can to keep from getting pregnant. We've also discussed the repercussions of an accidental pregnancy.

I started laughing out loud when I read this...

I haven't seen Cabin Boy in ages. He was such an idiot.

We haven't started having kids yet, but even when we're done I don't think that either of us will get surgery to avoid more kids. Neither of us like to have any medical procedure that isn't needed. Hell, I don't even like taking Tylenol unless I absolutely have to.

I don't like taking drugs either and didn't for my vasectomy. I recently had surgery for a hernia, and that was surgery. In comparison to the not that heavy duty surgery of a hernia, a vasectomy can hardly be considered in the same ballpark. I've had many far worse cuts in my profession than a vasectomy offers. It's outpatient and hardly worse than many slivers I've pulled out over the years.

And the cost? No more than a couple nights on the town, or even one night in some cases. To be absolutely sure that I can't cause pregnancy...priceless. To rely on condoms for pregnancy protection simply postpones the pregnancy for a while, in most cases.

Yes, men are often wimps when it comes to the most reliable pregnancy protection available to them. And the cheapest.

How do you figure? Cost is about $1000 - $1200 My deductible is $2000.

I had a hernia operation 3.5 years ago. Had a $3000 deduct. Had to pay >$3500 for a $5000 operation - took me 2.5 years to do it.

It was more like 56 hours, Surgery was at 7 a.m. Monday and brought the sample in around 4 pm wed. Mrs. swingerset gives great oral :bj:. We just wanted to get it over with as soon as possible.

On a side note, I had a sperm count done every year for the first five after the snip just to be sure.

My vasectomy cost $400 years ago. My hernia operation cost $7500 last year. While the hernia repair was worth the money, it can't compare to my vasectomy's worth.

I've checked my no sperm count almost every year. Doesn't require a doctor, just a basic microscope and a sample. Looking at my sperm before the vasectomy was one of the most profound experiences of my life. It was the first time I reached a physical understanding of the number millions. The vitality and motility of those sperm were impressive. It brought home how easy it would be to get a woman pregnant in a way never equaled by words. Seeing the number of very motile sperm before and the total absence after sealed the deal that no swimmers existed. And decades later I can be just as sure.

Ok so this may be a bit taboo and yes there are plenty of issues that come with this… but our conversation (and fantasies) revolve around swapping and sex in this fashion.

It might sound silly but is this frowned upon in swinger circles? Would we be blacklisted or is there a place for this?

We wouldn’t be sleeping around and maybe hope to find a regular couple or 2 to have this fun with, but as a general rule what’s the community’s approach to those coming in and looking to have bareback sex?

Speaking as a recent snip-"ee",  does the fact that a potential playmate has had a vasectomy a plus, a minus, or doesn't even factor into consideration when evaluating a new partner in the lifestyle?

Met a single guy for a date recently. I really liked him. We started to play a little and when I touched his cock I felt a small scab on the shaft and a bump just at the base --not on the penis but like in the area around the base.

I know I should've asked him about it then but I didn't. I diverted the session back into a heavy make out with no other play.

I ask my husband's advice about it upon returning home and he offered up several explanations of what it could be- a mole (he had one removed from that area after all), razor burn irritation, an ingrown hair. The scabbed area on his cock he said could be from jerking off too much/too hard- he admitted to getting those sometimes in his single days when all he had was his hand.

I am not trying to make excuses for him but just really trying to look at both sides. It could be HPV or herpes (I dont think so though-- the bump was rather large for herpes I think--and not clustered). I'm more concerned about HPV but I wouldn't say the area was flat either- it felt like a raised bump- like how an ingrown hair or mole might feel.

It doesn't make sense to me that he'd expose his cock to me with a raging infection of some sort but obviously, I'm not about to take that chance. He also offered zero explanation for it at the time which makes me wonder. I also did not ask him about it though.

Since we were in a parked car, I did not see it at all. I only felt it long enough for my hand to glide down the shaft of his cock.

I'm scared to offend him. I know I need to bring it up to him (I will not play with him without answers) and I know he deserves the chance to explain it to me. After all, it may be completely harmless but I know it's my right to ask these questions and get answers.

Such a sensitive topic. I know that being direct and honest is the best way to deal with this but thought I'd ask others advice before bringing it up to him.

So guys, how would you like to be approached in this situation?

Ladies, have you found yourself in a similar situation? What a did you do?

I thought about sending him an email - I realize that's somewhat of a cop out but that way it gives me time to write out what I want and then gives him time to process it and decide how to respond.

Advice? Comments? Suggestions? All are appreciated.

      Hey guys,

We're new to this whole swinging thing and haven't gotten started yet. The one thing that really bugs me is safety! Obviously condoms for intercourse are a given.

I read an article the other day about how rampant mouth/throat cancer has become because of HPV transmitted through oral sex.

Oral sex with condoms is just about worse than no oral sex at all!

Don't know what to do... how do you all handle safety?!

      Thanks!
