  1. Hi, on this forum I read a lot about birth control when swinging. I would like to know if you already used a method with a commonly high failure rate, when having sex during swinging. (this poll is not related to sex with your own wife or husband) Or do you ALWAYS use rather safe methods like the pill, or a combined method like condom combined with withdrawal? Karen
  2. Speaking as a recent snip-"ee", does the fact that a potential playmate has had a vasectomy a plus, a minus, or doesn't even factor into consideration when evaluating a new partner in the lifestyle?
  3. Yes, sex is fun, which is why we are all in swinging. But we also all know that sex makes babies. As swingers, we all know the many ways to try to avoid that result. We have been involved with swinging since the 1980's. As a result, we have known many fellow swingers, and continue to be friends with many. Twice in all those years, a couple suddenly disappeared from the scene, and my wife talked to the wife of the couple about the reason. Both times it was an unplanned pregnancy after all precautions were taken. It happens. As I think of our current culture, I think of how much harder it would have been on these two couples if abortion was not available, and they had to raise a child from a father that they barely knew. I am just thinking that suddenly swinging is becoming much more dangerous.
  4. We have three children, two boys and a younger daughter who is in High School. Our boys got the daddy/son talk when they were in high school, daughters are different as everyone knows. It’s difficult even thinking my little angel is doing anything. My wife has taken her to her doctor, bless my wife birth control was discussed and options given. I learned our daughter was put on a low dose pill which is good for acne, anxiety and birth control. I suggested a padlock. For years my wife depended on my vasectomy, then swinging came into our lives. She went on a pill, then side effects happen. Over 40, I read pills weren’t a good idea, she had an IUD placed, finally a ligation. We play primarily with friends and condoms aren’t being used. I’m not worried about our play just what our daughter is using and precautions she takes. It’s impossible for me to talk to her about sex, I know she is bright, being smart has nothing to do with sex. How have you handled your daughters growing up?
  5. As newbies, my husband Peter and I have learned so much here. We greatly appreciate the community at Swingers Board. As we are seeking to become more involved in swinging, one of our concerns is pregnancy. We are both fertile. If I were to become pregnant, either by Peter or another man, it would be easy for me to have an abortion. However, if he impregnated another woman, it would be up to her to decide what to do, without us having any say. Peter does not like condoms, and of course they can fail. I am urging him to consider having a vasectomy. We are wondering what more experienced couples have faced in terms of pregnancies, vasectomies, or tubal ligations. Also, what situation in the poll best applies to you?
  6. My wife can't use any form of birth control. Hormones cause clotting and the copper IUD was horribly painful for months on end. So I got a vasectomy back in December. For mostly STD prevention, we've both agreed to be what another guy in the lifestyle called a "condom-only couple" for intercourse. However, we also need condoms to prevent pregnancy as well. In the same conversation this guy told me about a time that he and his wife had swapped with another couple and the male half removed his condom mid-sex and tried penetrating her again. She covered her pussy and wouldn't let him. I'm curious how common something like that is in the lifestyle? If a couple agrees to wearing condoms for intercourse is that typically stuck to or are a lot sneaky and try pulling it off along the way? Thanks!
  7. We played with a couple where the woman could still get her period. She offered to play bareback, but I said I play with condoms and she consented no problem. However, after a raucous reverse cowboy session, she got off me with the condom in her. Can I assume she uses another form of birth control? I guess I could have asked. She did not seem alarmed.
  8. I'm curious as to what methods are most common in the Lifestyle. I had a vasectomy quite some time ago, and that's our method. The friends we play with have as well. My wife can't do hormonal contraceptives because of a medical condition. Any other couples here in which the man is infertile but the woman isn't? How do you handle that? Obviously, we prefer vasectomy, but just as obvious is our condoms ALWAYS rule. Unfortunately, she's allergic to spermicides, so barrier methods are out. We may look into IUD's, but are mainly curious what others with similar circumstances do?
  9. Hello everybody, we are new to the swinger community, but we would like to make our first experiences. We are just a little concerned about VDs when swapping, because the condom could break or slip off. Did this happen to you? Did you notice it? Would you say that breaking or slip off can be avoided, when using them accurately? Thanks! Jenny and Marc
  10. When you swap mates do you use condoms for intercourse?
  11. Hello, welcome to a little poll and discussion about "principles vs the heat of the moment". Are swingers very disciplined concerning principles like for example always using condoms? What happens to your principles when things actually happen: a party, a little drunk, sex everywhere... The discussion should not be limited to condoms, but all broken principles and arrangements are the topic, e.g. only soft swap, no kissing, never in different rooms, always this, never that, and so on ...
  12. I thought it would be interesting to find out other peoples views on the subject of safe sex/being surgically safe. N8tureGirl and I have been in the lifestyle for just over a year now, and we’ve found that most of the males of the couples we’ve played with are not surgically safe. I am V-safe and as of this month, N8tureGirl will be surgically safe also. What I would like to know is: Why don’t more people address this issue? I do realize that there may be some people out here that might still wish to have children, but for the most part, if they haven’t had kids by now, what are they waiting for? After all, most of us here are 30 somethings or older. I have been frustrated by people, (men in particular), who seem to think that it should be our responsibility to make sure a pregnancy doesn’t happen. Condoms don’t always work, and most people say that they don’t like using them since it does change the sensations felt or not felt. To further my opinion on this matter, sterilization is much less expensive and uncomfortable for the men than the women. When we got into swinging, we didn’t think about the fact that we were going to have to spend thousands (literally), on having the Mrs. fixed so she could enjoy herself without that concern hanging over her head. We’ve been told by more than one man that he was afraid that having the procedure done would hurt. This is a WTF moment for me, is there no pain in bearing a child? What about the financial pain of raising an unplanned child, or worse yet, the emotional pain of terminating an unwanted pregnancy? To me, this smacks of being self centered and makes me want to tell the guy that he can play with us once he gets his business taken care of. Fortunately, that will soon no longer be an issue for us. I just wanted to hear other peoples' opinions on this issue.
  13. How would you react in the moment it happens? Will you continue to play? Would you go bareback for the rest of that session? What would you do in the days/weeks/months afterwards? Would you act different if you knew that people involved were T or V-safe/generally religious with birth-control?
  14. Was going back through and thought I would post the opposite question to the one I posted the other day. This one is for those who do use condoms either all or some of the time while swinging. Why do you use condoms?
