My wife and I were brought up in strict religious homes. I hated clothes. I hated dressing up for church. The damn leather shoes always hurt my feet and mom wouldn't let me go play with the other kids because I would get my Sunday clothes dirty. My wife was confined to her home couldn't go on dates or to all girl sleep overs because good girls are proper and stay at home and keep their legs together and always in bed before nine. Well, we met in College. Love at first sight. We had sex like rabbits. We got married. I had met a guy at college who was raised a nudist. Went to his parents house many times. Loved the life style. Converted my wife to nudist life style. She loved the freedom and feel of being nude. Our parents lived 5 hours away so we were free. I tried to get my wife to dress really risky in public. She would not. She was afraid she would be thrown out or arrested. An old long time nudist guy told me that here are the rules of nudity in public. 1. A woman can show all of her breasts in public as long as her aureoles are covered. 2. She can show all her butt as long as the crack is covered or has something in it like a wedgie or a thong. 3. She can show all her front as long as no pubic hair or lips or crack showing there either. 4. She can show all of her assets bare in public only if its an accident like wind blowing up her dress or her breasts falling for everyone to see or when she bent over her whole bare bottom is showing as long as it is temporary. Meaning when she bends back up all is covered again. 5. All beaver spreads are legal anywhere any time even in church if it looks like an accident or it is plain the woman doesn't seem to know she is showing. 6. See through clothes seem to be perfectly ok. Show all you want. You are technically dressed.

We are Nudists, not so thrilling most of the time unless we are doing something that would be arousing. J in particular enjoys the display especially if there are others with the same "problem." That is one reason we enjoy the Swing/Masturbation club we attend, it feels good to spend an evening in a naked aroused group of friends.

I answered "we enjoy it but only if it's anonymous." Truth is we enjoy it, but we don't want to offend.

I don't care if someone sees me, but I am concerned with making others uncomfortable. I love to hike and relax in nature naked, but not if others clothed are around. Swimming or getting naked on our boat are a real pleasure, but again not if it offends others.

I know, we shouldn't be so concerned with others, but I prefer to avoid hassle when i can.

I wish there was more clarity and acceptance, even signs that clearly allow nudity at places like beaches, natural hot springs, back packing camps, or remote hiking places.

I think there are really two aspects to this. We both enjoy sunning in the nude. Now, with hubby, it may take a day or two at a nude resort until he is actually comfy. In terms some type of “sexual” enjoyment as in being an exhibitionist, that’s totally me and not at all him, other than that he enjoys me being an exhibitionist.

I do still feel self conscious being totally nude. I see all my flaws in a mirror. My husband says my body is great. I tell to get glasses. Even when I was younger, changing in the school locker room,my gym, and even to my doctor. Even with boyfriends I was intimate with I felt strange being totally nude. Our first time I went to a nude beach, on vacation and anonymously, I wasn't sure if I could do it. We were going with people we just met on a cruise. I made my husband groom and I obsessed with what I would look like. When we got to the beach, I only saw a few topless women and thought I could do that. Then when I found out the nude area was at the end. I didn't know what to expect. I will say that most of the people on the beach would look better with some cover up.

Shore2Please: From what I've seen of you, I have to agree with your husband...you are beautiful. Do you think that he would lie to you? We will always be our own worst critics and there's nothing we can do about that. The saying 'beauty is only skin deep' has two postulates. 1: '...but ugly goes clear to the bone' and 2: '...but sexy is something that comes from inside' Some of the most beautiful women in the world have very ugly souls and that comes from the inside and sexy has nothing to even do with beauty since is comes from confidence from the inside. Listen to your husband on this one.

1. You must know my spouse. I tell her she is as beautiful as the day we met 42 years ago. She says please do_NOT_ get glasses updated. Of course, I see my eye doctor every few months...

2. Interestingly, we think most people look better nude on the beach--without the textiles to draw attention to this or that area. Yes, there is the camouflage aspect. But nude just blends in.

I was able to coax Mrs. EastInWest into topless sunbathing in Europe, it was her first time and it took her a little while to relax as she became self-conscious of men looking at her. I found it exciting and she eventually got used to it, until she was more self-conscious about my erection than her breasts. In that context, she feels pretty good about it, enough so that we now have a few couple friends that will come use our pool in the summer. It's a private thing and not people we would ever play with (not that the other girls are unattractive, these are just friendships that we wouldn't shake up), but it's also not a secret that the boys aren't really there for the swimming.

When sex is in the mix, she gets a little more hesitant. She knows I vote in favor of her showing or letting anyone touch her breasts if we're out of town, that's been in place for maybe four-five years and it's been rare that she's taken me up on it.

Personally, I'm indifferent to my own nudity. For social reasons it's not something I'd do freely in my own community, but I'm fine being nude in front of people in general.

Thank you I understand what you are saying. My big problem was getting undressed in front of new friends we just met. I think it would have been easier if we went alone. I think the Europeans on the beach were more comfortable than the Americans. We were in the Caribbean. Some of the older people seemed very at ease. There was no sex on the beach that I saw. My take was that the Americans were a little anxious. The people we were with made it fun. Yes we privately joked about some people.

We have since then gone back to that same beach. My attitude was much different.

First time we went to a nudist resort, we were told on the tour that we would quickly feel 'overdressed'...and we did. When everyone is naked, wearing cloths seems to make one 'stand out' as being different (while being nude blends in). It's unfortunate that Americans have no problem with extreme violence on TV and movies being 'ok' but nudity is 'dirty' or 'wrong'. There's something really wrong with that line of thinking.I was watching a documentary the other day and they were blurring out the 'dirty' statues created by master artists...WTF?!! But having someone kill dozens of innocent people...either in a TV show, movie, or (worst yet) on the news is just fine. We're all naked under our cloths, and more importantly, we are all equal when we are naked (no designer labels, much harder to prejudge based on appearance, etc). In England, they have 'page 3' girls in the newspaper (mostly topless) and it's ok, but here it would be 'pornography'. Really?!! Getting off of high horse...

It is hard to get naked for the first time with other people, but it shouldn't be. I get what you are saying and feel the same way at times, but I wish it wasn't so.

The dynamic is interesting. Our first-time experience was the same as everyone else's--trepidation that lasts a few minutes to a few hours, followed by the realization that no one cares, followed by the realization that wearing textiles calls attention to you as the exception, followed by "why didn't we do this sooner in our lives?"

We have adopted the somewhat-California-esque tradition of having a hot tub out back, and an unambiguous message that swimsuits are disallowed. Guests love it. What happens in the hot tub depends on what we and the guests want. With vanilla friends, it's simple nude relaxation. With LS friends, it depends on everyone's mood.

It's not exhibitionism. It's comfort.

Fundamental Law: We always thought that either a boat or hot tub was a requirement to be called a 'swinger'. We have a sign on the back deck pointing to the pool/hot tub that says "Pool ---> Towels Required Suits Optional" although it isn't a law, it is an option...

I'm indifferent. Couldn't care less if anyone sees me naked or having sex, but it doesn't excite me either.

Nudity is natural. Should be at least practiced around the house.

My wife and I have been nudists since 1973. We are usually at least partially nude at all time around the house. I have shot a great number of fine-art nudes of my wife over the years and have started posting them on Flickr. My wife and I have also both posed nude for figure drawing and figure photography sessions. For a few years my wife was a nude model at a university where I taught. We have also been interviewed as nudists for local newspapers in Maryland.

This poll and question resurface from time to time.

We have moved into our "forever home", designed from the ground up to be clothing-optional with no direct sightlines into the home or the courtyard (except, in the dead of winter when the leaves are off the trees and no one is going to spend time naked outside anyway).

Nude (or, in French, au naturel) is the way we are born. It is the most natural state. We bathe, make love, and sleep that way. Clothing for protection, for warmth, for fantasy--all of that makes sense. Clothing makes sense for most public, professional, and business gatherings. Clothing makes sense for many forms of recreation. It makes sense for some social gatherings. But for "everyday", for other recreation (typically warm environment or wet environment or both) , clothing ought to be optional, nude is normal, and people ought to choose what is comfortable for them.

If you visit, we'll ask that you remove your shoes (or wear shoe covers) out of respect for our wood floors. If you want to keep everything else on, or you prefer to take everything else off, that's up to you. We'll welcome you either way.

I love nude beaches and resorts. I have no problem being nude and love interacting with other nude people because they are friendlier and less uptight. We need more places in the U.S. that allow more nudity.

Mary never had any problem with people seeing whatever they would like to at our swing club, house parties or the like. But she dressed quite chastely in the vanilla world.

Me? Who cares . . .

I am at the mature end of the swinging demographic as are my play friends. The ladies have their share of curves and character lines and often prefer to wear something when younger, fitter ladies prefer total nudity. This is just to say clothing is totally OK if it makes you comfortable. This is not a photo shoot. This is intimacy and mutual giving. Besides, a little color and texture is nice to see and feel. When I know my partner is shy I can adjust and just observe that as a boundary.

      Now, go shopping.

I have a fantasy of being pegged by my wife at say, a swinger house party, with the door open or some how on display for passerby’s to watch. My only concern is whether this would be considered disrespectful or against an unspoken etiquette? I can understand it’s not for everyone.

I have a question for the experienced couples on the board. For quite a while I have had the desire to be in a more sexually charged environment while having sex with my husband. Now, I have been hanging around this board and learned a lot about the maturity required to swing and I must say I am impressed by a lot of you. The reason I bring this up is because I would like your opinions. I am wanting to find some couples or groups that are open and mature like yourselves to watch while each couple has sex.

I am in my 20's and find that a lot of couples around my age lack maturity when it is called for. Of course for a lot of couples at any age it seems can barely keep their own relationships together. On the other hand it seems that a lot of you put respect and your relationships above all else. Other than the fact that I am not technically a swinger (yet ), I feel you people share more in common with my ideals than most groups of people.

I would love to try new things but I'm not near ready for a 4some or swapping. However, I feel that being in and getting comfortable as a couple around swingers would open the door to a lot of new experiences for me.

So I was curious how the couples on here would feel about having a non swapping couple around having sex in the same room as them? Does it make a difference to you if there are just 2 couples, more than 2, group sex, or swapping going on in the room? What do you think the best way to go about it would be? Is this something that Swingers in general accept?

My wife and I love skinny dipping after our youngest is in bed. We have a daughter in college that comes home on some weekends.

One weekend recently, she surprised us by coming home early after being out with friends and caught my wife and I in the pool, no swim suits of course. She wasn’t freaked out, she actually was cool about it and hung out by the pool a while. She asked if we would mind if she got in for a swim, we said of course. She went in the house(we thought to get in a swim suit of course)  and she came back out wearing a towel which she soon revealed that she also was nude. She is 20 by the way. She said since  we were skinny dipping it would be ok for her to as well. My wife was totally fine with it. I’m ok with it, it just caught me by surprise and off guard to say the least  to the point where I couldn’t look at her at first since it was my daughter. That went away after a bit.

This is the first time she’s went completely nude with us. My wife and I go nude around the house all the time and she would just go around in a T-shirt and panties when she lived at home and when she comes home now. She never had shown an interest in anything more than that before. Am I just over reacting since it was the first time she’s done that and I’m trying to process it? She’s been a free spirit since she was little,  so it shouldn’t be a surprise to me. She knows we’re swingers and we’re both bisexual and she thinks that’s awesome, so I don’t know why I reacted the way I did with the skinny dipping. Any ideas and opinions are welcome
