I am a fairly well known photographer. I got my initiation into swinging while doing boudoir photography with a couple. I started sexy, got hot, steamy, explicite and then they asked me to join them....I got a new interest in my work..and a new lifestyle.

I just had the urge to corrupt him :) One of the odd things I consider in the shower in the mornings. Seriously? We've always fantasized about it, I finally decided it was time to stop talking and start doing. He concurred.

I had a lover, Red, before I met my husband, David, that I never gave up. David knew about Red when we first started dating and as we became more seriously emotionally involved he confronted me - and let me know that he had no problem with it. David wasn't seeing anyone else and was clear he wasn't looking for the same freedom. Several years later after we were married, I started fixing him up with my friends; three thus far.

It's always interesting to learn how others ventured unto the swinging lifestyle. It's a tendency to compare ourselves with others on how they became involved in swinging. Caryl and I got interested in swinging by way of me. I've always wanted to be adventurous especially when nudity is part of the activity. I first acclimated Caryl in being nude in front of others by taking her to a nudist resort. After that it was not a problem in introducing her to the swing lifestyle. We've been swinging for about four years now. We are loving it. We when on a swinger's cruise to the Mexican riviera recently.

Our first time "just happened." We had met another couple at a nude beach in Southern California and invited them over to our place on their way home.

After having some wine in our apartment we suggested going down to a hot tub on the far end of the complex that was secluded enough that we usually went nude in there. They liked the idea and soon we were all nude in the hot tub. At one point some others came to the hot tub and the other woman told them that we were all naked in there to which they didn't mind.

After the others left the four of us came together in the middle of the hot tub and came away with different partners. All four of us started kissing and fondling the new partner under the bubbles. That progressed to the ladies laying on the deck and being eaten by their new partner. Fortunately I let the big head think for a second and suggested that we move this back to our apartment before someone found us.

After that night with them we were so turned on by what happened that we sought out more experiences. It was soon after then that it was back in the BBS days and we found the boards to meet others.

We got started the same way. My wife was always saying.... "It is only a fantasy, I could never actually do it". Well, one night it all became a reality. It was the best thing that ever happened to our 10-year marriage.

Hello all! I've been lurking on here for two or so years now and have learned quite a lot from this forum. This particular subject - How did you get started - is, and has been my #1 question for awhile now..

"It is only a fantasy..." Is exactly what my S.O. says as well.. She is incredibly turned on when we fantasize of another joining us.. I am very good at painting an imaginary sceneario for her.. She loves it and typically becomes "lost" or swept away in the fantasy.. Leading to wonderful and multiple orgasms.. She enjoys having me write her naughty stories as well.. Stories envolving others.. When we go out we "pick" people for each other and joke with one another about inviting them home with us.. We often cruise the internet looking for men and or women for one another.. Yet she continually says she could not go through with any of this in real life.. We have talked at length about it for 2+ years.. I would be quite interested in hearing from those of you who took the leap from fantasy to reality and how it finally took place for you.. Especially from you women out there who may have also once said "It is only a fantasy..."

If my lovely S.O. and I never take the leap from fantasy to reality, so be it. I will be ok with that. We will continue to have an amazing sex life regardless. However, the mere idea of witnessing the love of my life give, and more importantly to me, receive, sexual pleasure, to and from another.. Wow! Being able to witness that third person.. Being able to give her such a gift.. I am at a complete loss of words as how to describe just how incredible that would be :)

My Ex led a double life, a found this out when I was 5 months into our relationship. He got the other girl pregnant and he broke up with her. We were on vacation and she called the hotel to tell me about her and him, I was shocked.

I walked away from my ex, that day because he was a selfish asshole.

While mending my broken heart. I became curious about the lifestyle because it allowed both parties to play equally: The Lifestyle= openess, no secrets and no lies, I have been hooked ever since.

For us it was really complex. We ended up choosing talking and fantasy sharing, but it had to with much more than that as well. It was a lot about redeeming and reclaiming our sexuality as well.

For us, what caught our interest was a porn video we had bought early on in our marriage called The Dinner Party, it had a realistic plot about 3 couples who got together for a dinner party and over the course of the party the discussed their sexual fantasies which ended up being the scenes of the video, and in the end, they all had an orgy. But it got us talking about swinging, we really never did anything for a few years, and about 11 years ago, we decided to try it. We have enjoyed it, and we have had times over the past 11 years where we've taken breaks, either due to her being pregnant, or just because of work and just not having the time. But we have enjoyed the lifestyle and some of the friends we've made because of it. It has really helped us to be much more open with each other as well. And our communication with each other has greatly improved as well. We also have an open marriage and can see others alone besides swapping with other couples. So that really helps us a lot.

I was always poly, marriage is my first monogamous relationship, I was a REALLY kinky kid (bi and started at 11). I met Lizardess in my sr year at college, we fell in love and decided to get married. I told her I was bi and asked if she wanted a closed or open marriage. She was OK with bi, but wanted closed. I figured that it was time to behave and said OK. For about 28 years it was fine (married 35 years this year), then when I hit 50 or so, it all came back to me and I just missed all of the kinks and other people.

It came up one day while we were at an outdoor restaurant on a lovely winter day in TX. We were reading the local alternative paper and she saw the ad for the local swinger's club and said something like, "I don't think I could do that." I said, "why not?" A long and complicated discussion ensued and we left it. A few weeks later, a very nervous Lizardess gave me a Valentine's Day card saying we'd go to the club as my present. Before I even got the card open, the disclaimers were already flying, "I am not promising ANYTHING, we may have to leave in 10 minutes if I am not comfortable, but we can go."

I kissed her and thanked her and as it would have it, she got sick on the night we were to go and it was a month later we actually went. It was a very quiet night at the club and there were maybe 10 couples and most of us were newbies. We danced and ended up on some couches with what now I am sure were other 2 other n00b couples watching each other have sex but not touching (what we didn't know then and the club management let slide, is that sex is only in the playroom under normal circumstances). We had fun, but it was definitely an odd night being in a club that seats almost 500 people with only 20.

Since then (almost 4 years), we've gotten to be semi regulars, we go every other month or so and know the management and many other couples now. We love the foam party, Halloween and New Years's eve. We still haven't played with others, but watching and being watched in the playroom is fun.

We advance slowly, but we do advance. Last foam party we both got in naked and close danced and groped with other couples in the foam (the foam pit rules have evolved that you make eye contact and get a nod or gesture before touching at all - and it is amazing how good everyone is about it - and no actual sex in the pit - but both sexes get a bit busy with hands if they agree).

We are still looking for that right couple that gives Lizardess the good feeling (she has been there with the girl a few times, but not the guy), so we keep looking.

So we are still really getting started, but the beginning was seeing that ad...

(as a side note, the club is the safest bar in town. There is no place else where no is no with total backing of everyone there and about zero chance of a guy taking a poke at someone for bumping into him, etc. I'm hooked on the club no matter if we ever play or not, it's just the best place I know of to drink, dance, flirt and have a good time)

Hi out there. I’m married and in an evolving relationship. Last year I did a burlesque photo shoot for him as a gift. He loved the way it turned out but asked if I’d be willing to do something more risqué in the future. I got a reference from the original photographer (female) and told my husband the new photographer would be a male. Being the protective husband he is we both requested a meeting over a cup of coffee. We met which was great and made things all the more comfortable. I loved what I saw from his book and my husband did as well.

We had the shoot and the pictures came out great. He got really turned on by knowing another guy was doing the pictures. I was shocked. I asked him if he’d consider doing a couples shoot with me and he said he’d try but was reluctant. Pretty soon after he agreed and we were off again.

Prior to the shoot my husband and the photographer talked about his career. My husband, who’s faithful, shocked me a bit with his envy and open talk about what the photographer experienced. I’m extremely open and joined in the conversation. Both of us felt like we were conversing with someone we really liked and knew a lot longer than we actually did. Unfortunately my husband had difficulties getting hard which is completely out of the ordinary. The photographer said it happened a lot and just to relax.

Surprisingly at my husband's request he asked for me to do a POV shoot the photographer showed us in his book. Basically it’s the photographer including himself in various ways while taking the pictures. As we started taking the pictures I liked being touched by the photographer even though it wasn’t active foreplay or sex. It really was strictly for the pictures themselves. During the pictures my husband quickly got hard and watched. Eventually the photographer asked him if he was going to get involved. The rest of the shoot went as we planned. Afterwards we all sat around and talked and went through the pictures.

Some time passed again and we talked a lot about the fun we had with it. My husband admitted he liked watching the photographer touch me and if not for that he may have been to nervous to get hard.

I really want this to develop further but I’m apprehensive because it’s a major change in life obviously. I’m also not sure about how I feel about seeing him with someone else. When I say I’m not sure I mean most likely not. I don’t even really think he wants to. I almost feel like if I bring that up it will be too much too fast. Multiple times when having sex we’ve dirty talked about me doing another shoot and giving myself up. I’d feel more comfortable to actually do it than talk about it.

I feel like my husband has opened a door that I want to walk into. Am I reading it wrong? Is it best for me to just set something else up and let it work itself the way it will? Based on our interactions I have no doubt the photographer would be into it also. Would I be going to far given our relationship if I reached out to the him and told him how I feel, how my husband feels, and confirm he’d say yes?

First of all I would like to apologise for my English , as it’s not my first language. I’m a married guy and I just told my wife that my fantasy is to have sex with her and to be watched. So my question is what is better as a first timer , to go with my wife to a swingers club or to just meet another couple and have same room sex. What do you guys suggest? I’m not into wife swap. I just love to be watched

Mods, if you can find a better forum for this thread, please do move it. I'm not sure where it fits.

I had a brain wave. I've been reading posts by newcomers to the lifestyle and I remember us being there ourselves. It's overwhelming, scary and you feel like a fish out of water. You don't know what's appropriate, what's not, and you have no idea what you should expect. There's such a huge learning curve, and I know it's kind of part of the experience, but still... I have to wonder how many of those monster mistakes could be avoided if couples had some guidance. Do we really need to make the painful mistakes to learn? Or could we still learn without the damage?

Why is there not something like a newbie boot camp? A one-week resort take-over dedicated to getting newbies started out right in the lifestyle? Workshops on such things as club or house party etiquette, how to host a house party, STD protection, "speed dating" for swingers (learning to communicate with your partner), how to read and write a great profile, communication workshops, getting-over-jealousy exercises, body image discussion groups, and maybe a discussion group where sensitive questions can be addressed anonymously (such as about penis size, having a medical condition, or a physical disability). And of course, lots of opportunity to socialize with other newbs and veterans alike.

We learned a lot from a more experienced couple, but we actually had our first full-swap experience with another "virgin" couple like ourselves. And it worked out great! Looking back, though, it's easy to see how many ways it could've gone wrong. Now that we consider ourselves more along the "veteran" end of the spectrum, we know it's important to "give back", and not avoid new couples. We've all been there, and we sure appreciated the guidance.

So what does everyone think? Does that sound like it would be a good idea, or would it be too intimidating?

We have read a few posts on this site about getting comfortable with others by easing into things slowly. Perhaps by playing naked games such as strip poker or truth or dare. We think this would be a good way for us as newbies to get comfortable with being naked around others in a sexually charged atmosphere. Perhaps the games could progress over a series of dates from just being naked to touching (erotic massage) to soft swap and hopefully all the way up to full swap. This way it might alleviate a good portion of the jealousy and nervousness that might accompany a first time straight on full swap.

Our question is this. It seems to us this would be a good way to start, but just how many seasoned swingers would actually be interested in answering an ad from a newbie couple that stated this is how they wanted to proceed? Would the more experienced swingers just pass this type of profile by?

Also, how would relatively new swingers, with just a few experiences under their belts respond (if at all) to a profile like this.

I'm curious to see what everyone's initial experiences were in this respect. Perhaps this has been polled already, but I'll try it again. So did you start out slowly and gradually with much talk, or did you just decide one night, on a lark, to hit a club and the rest was history?
