"4-5% of those living in the United States" Did they pare that down a bit? Our household at one point had 5 people,living there. 3 of them where minors.

People make assumptions on this sort of thing that are not warranted.

It changes the narrative a bit if it is 4-5% of married couples lining in the US and again 4-5% of paired but unmarried couples,and again 4-5% of people in a sexually active age bracket who are uncoupled.

 

 

This is a good 1/2 hr. Suggested watching.

I appreciate that this short documentary was more about poly relationships with genuine feelings and commitment, and not just swinging.

 

Also they interviewed a mother whose daughter was in an open relationship, and explored her concerns.

This is a great documentary. It's almost a tease though; they pack a lot into a very short time frame. It's a very relationship and psychologically positive approach to the subject. Some of the numbers in it astonished me. Thanks for sharing this!

I agree that this documentary mainly focuses on polyamory. I believe that they chose the wrong title when they called it consensual non-monogamy, which would cover a much broader subject and would be naming an activities rather than interpersonal relationships. I saw, actually, nothing related to swinging in this documentary.

As I said earlier, the statement itself is indecipherable without looking at the survey(s) in question, particularly the group sampled in particular marital and /or commitment status, The exact wording of the questions asked and what definition if any of terms were set forth in the survey.

... I saw, actually, nothing related to swinging in this documentary.

The interview with the mother of the woman who did not appear in the video said (if I recall correctly) that her daughter was in an open relationship, and that she worried about her safety. That one stuck out in my mind as being more of a swinging situation.
