I'm also on Fetlife for kicks/kinks but under a different ID name that i (econo) used to use for adult websites.

Funny thing was that I had signed up years ago before it apparently exploded in popularity. I ran across the old joining email a couple of years ago and signed back in. I found that my id was numbered in the 200,000's and then there were about 2,000,000 in the ID's, Hell, there are now over 5,000,000 id numbers for folks on Fetlife.

 

At a few of the last parties we co-hosted I did hear some folks attending mention Fetlife but only in passing. The parties were SLS affiliated for the most part, in the years just as i started they were yahoo groups advertised before yahoo shut down listing adult groups.

 

While Red and I are still profile-less, I do appreciate everyone's feedback about which sites you're using currently. This will help us should we take the plunge again to post a profile.

That is a great question! The groups are, by definition, secret- your posts to those groups do not show up in your timeline, your membership in the groups does not show up in your profile, and those who are not members can't see the group if you search for it. We were invited to join by someone who was already a member. And our exposure in that group, posting and commenting, led people to invite use o other groups.

 

So, how would you get jump-started in this, you ask? If you belong to any SLS groups, or are members at any local lifestyle clubs, you might ask the administrator/owner if they have a secret Facebook group for their operation, and if you could score an invite. Most of these groups are local/regional in scope, but we do know of one or two nationwide groups (PM me if you want to know about getting in to those).

 

One note of caution for these groups. If you join these groups from your everyday, "vanilla" Facebook account, and you "friend" your fellow swingers who you find in these groups, your vanilla friends might be able to see your swinger friends in your friends list. I know some swinger friends who use their everyday FB accounts to join these secret groups, but they don't accept friend requests from lifestyle friends, especially if the swingers have FB names like "Sexy Vixen" or something. So we decided to avoid most of those problems, by creating a separate Facebook account just for lifestyle purposes, but with a normal-sounding name (we are Linda Thomas on that account).

Kasidie is OK, though we here in MD have not actually met all that many people through Kasidie. Perhaps it is a regional thing- I know different site seem to have different regional followings. We have more luck with SLS, and a site called APG in our area.

Where is the best place to find swingers in the Spokane, WA area? We tried AFF, got the fakes. We tried Craigslist got a lot of fakes and flakes. We tried swing lifestyle got no replies. and both swingers clubs have closed down. We are an older couple 51/47 and have been swinging of and on for 20 years but seems harder to find couples.

Our experience has been that AFF and Craigslist are just a waste of time (others have had success, but on the west coast it doesn't seem to work). I would say (without looking) that SLS is but you say you got no replies...did you send any requests? It's all a numbers game and you need to keep your line in the water before you will attract any fish. Also, make sure that your profile is complete, has pictures (even if the faces are edited out) and well written (especially if you are a free member). We have a thread for profile reviews if you want it checked...

SLS tend to cater to an older crowd, at least in Florida, but the site is more user friendly.

 

SDC is more of a younger crowd with the most between 30's to early 50's. The site holds many options and way more M&G (went to our first SDC event last week, and had a blast, although there was some drama from some other couples)

 

One user here mentioned that SDC shows you if you looked at someone's profile or video. There is an option to go incognito in the settings. I don't think SLS has that choice.

 

So far we like both, but are more inclined towards SDC due to all the choices and events.

You most certainly are able to see from which SLS profiles people have viewed your profile. In my mind, the problem is that you are not able to shut this feature off -- that is to adjust it so that other people do not know that you have clicked on their profile.

 

SZC offers a setting that you can change -- turn it on and anybody you view knows that you viewed -- turn it off, you can view a profile and nobody is the wiser.

Being Swedish, there aren't a lot of options. However, the options we have are pretty great. The site we use most is an almost exclusively Swedish site called bodycontact.com, which really seems to be the go-to place. (Also, it's really cheap. At current exchange rates it's about ¢12 per day, even though the free subscription is really, really good.)

 

We really wish there was a decent international site we could use. One we could use both at home and while traveling. (We travel a bit and occasionally enjoy more hedonistic activities while we're away ) Internationally, SDC seems to be the best option, with a detailed club list, but there are very few Swedes who use it.

 

Also, we've had great success with both the Tinder and Feeld (previously 3nder) apps... I guess they could be considered "sites" of sorts...

You most certainly are able to see from which SLS profiles people have viewed your profile. In my mind, the problem is that you are not able to shut this feature off -- that is to adjust it so that other people do not know that you have clicked on their profile.

 

You can do this very easily. You just go into the settings under "who viewed me" or whatever it's called and turn it off. You lose the history of who viewed you, but as soon as you're done with your covert operations,:)you turn it back on and it resumes recording your views.

 

That said, SLS drives us batty. Features are seriously lacking, everything is non-intuitive, and the support seems to delight in making things worse. However, almost no one in our area uses anything else, so we're stuck.

By far the best site is mixingsexy.com both for ease of use and worldwide coverage. It works just like Facebook and has every imaginable feature. Events are posted from our area, around the US, and all over Europe. We have profiles at SLS, SDC, Kasadie, SZC, and LL, but we find that we are using mixingsexy.com 80% of the time.

This is a great topic! I have had pretty good luck with SLS in the past, and recently decided to go for the gusto and try to meet some new people since I relocated to a new area. The silence is deafening. I send a pretty well-written, polite email to people after making sure I meet their list of requirements, and get very, very, very few responses. From what I can tell, most of the emails stay in "Unread" status, even though I see the people are on the site daily.

 

I think there are a lot more of the "curious" there, and very few who actually meet. I have some people via IM there tell me they don't have much time for play, but they can apparently stay logged into SLS for hours at a time, as they are there and online EVERY time I log in.

 

I am in So. California, and things here seem to have gravitated to more of a club/event thing, rather than people doing their thing online. It seems mostly a way for club members to stay in touch and announce parties than anything else

I'm finding the Clubs web sites are useful. Where they care the club owners are fairly effective in keeping spam, bots, and other garbage off their sites. The exceptions seem to be rare. Other than that I've had good luck with Swinger Zone Central. Hooked up with five couples and a single lady through that site in three years. Made connection to a half dozen others. While the chat room is poor, and the navigation of the forums awkward the forums are reasonably active. Searching and navigating profiles is fairly easy.

Hello! First post on the board, so forgive us if our forum etiquette isn’t up to par. My wife and I are just dipping our toes into the lifestyle. We are on AFF and have had some real good conversations there, but no actual action, they do have the best overall setup and options. Our one complaint for AFF is if someone IM's you instead of regular messaging it can only be seen on the device it was first seen from and the conversation seems to erase itself after a few hours. We like to both be involved so we turned IM off. Mixingsexy has had some good matches as well, (with nothing coming from it) but our area is less populated and there are lots of old accounts still up, I do like that they have a map with pinpoints so you can see all the couples/singles in a selected area. 3fun we have had a few contact us and we have contacted a few, with one full swap with a great experienced couple and a play date set for next weekend *very exited*. I like the layout and the premise of a "tinder" style app, you can just select yes or no on. None. I don't want to be Debbie downer, but if I had to make a choice I would say any swingers only site that allows video. Allow me to explain. When we started about 12 years ago, we got hooked on the swinger site SDC. Mostly because it's all we knew about and after a lot of investment in time (I mean a lot), we made some dates from it. Maybe 4 in two years. We had spent so much time and failed by being stood up, had false expectations, and had a bad experience, I was voting for just quitting and limiting our diversion to going to a swingers club when we could. Up front, I'll tell you that swinging is like life in many ways, it's who you know. Our renewed excitement happened when we met a couple at a party. From that we dated them, and from what was an awesome experience, we were invited into their circle of friends. Ah ha! We were then part of a serious full swap group. We had a lot of parties, traded homes for them, and occasionally, a new couple would be accepted into our private society.

 

We kept our membership and it was a source of a possible introduction, but was better as a venue to showcase ourselves to others that were real swingers and interested, just in case. Notice I said real swingers. We had no anxiety anymore if we didn't make a connection. The downside of this was a slow motion epiphany that exposed us as complete jackasses to think we were looking in the right place and we were being played. Here's a secret for you...swingers talk. So after joining the real community and after countless conversations, exchanging experiences , we all knew who the swingers were, who the posers were, and that the sites are mostly full of posers, wanna be husbands, and picture collectors. I can confidently say that before we moved from Miami, I knew every swinger profile that was real (Hey, I didn't fuck them all!), and that I would guess that less than 2% of the local couples profiled were available couples if a couple at all.

 

We have shifted around the swinger sites out of curiosity and have also found that some have regional strength. SDC would be your choice for Florida and I'll tell you there are more swingers in Florida than anywhere. Here in the Carolinas it would probably be SLS. But, saying that the Carolinas is an active, real swinger region would be a joke. Out of those two we have made a total of 10 dates in 12 years. All others have been by knowing someone or meeting up at a house party and making a connection. We have also had some house parties. I get my MFM threesomes by going out in town and taking the pick of the litter the old fashioned way.

 

So, pick any site. We maintain one because for $20 a month we might make a connection, but we just mostly use it as a collection of our experiences in case we meet someone and we can send them to our profile. Yes the cruises are still happening. Look on SLS, SDC. Travel agents we’ve used include Erotic Adult Travel (EAT) and Castaways Travel (we get nothing for mentioning them). There is a Bliss cruise to Spain and Morocco in June, Caribbean in November. If you are friendly, reasonably attractive and have good hygiene and are open minded with full swapping, you have a very good chance of getting laid.
