Go figure.

When I first wore it, this one lady actually walked up to me and told me she didn't like it - until another woman was all over me. From that point on she talks to me about it all the time - "when are you wearing your kilt???"

My guess is - people at swing clubs are just completely over-stressed about not looking odd. I say - be yourself and let the chips fall where they may.

PS - I'd wear my kilt anytime YOU ask me to

Hi Spoo, I didn't know you had a kilt!

For over a month I've been working on my hubby's Halloween costume, which will be a historic highlander's great kilt, dressed the part from head to toe! I've studied the history to get it as accurate as possible. Mr. Tybee is very Scottish-American and very proud of it, and he looks so totally the part, he should have been a walk-on in Rob Roy. LOL! I've even got his sgian dubh and a 50" sheathed claymore! He'll wear the claymore strapped across his back. I've got his high-laced ghillie boots, linen shirt, still working on the kilt itself and need to get the sporran.

Do you dress in full regalia when you wear your kilt? Do you wear the modern kilt and brogues?

About hubby's costume, I've just assumed that the women will be all over this Scottish Highlander, that it would be a really popular look, especially in the swinger's parties. I'm soooo surprised that some of the women turned up their nose at your kilt! Oh well, I'll bet that the women who did like it were the fun ones, anyway.

xoxo, Mrs. Tybee

I am thinking he'll more than likely be very glad he wore it

In MOST situations, it has been a social (read: "hand job") magnet.

I really think the women who didn't like it were probably either insecure (like junior high, no one wants to be "different") or just didn't know what to make of it. The ones that have (and it has been most) have been great to talk and flirt with about it.

My kilt is really a casual one that I can wear most anywhere. I have worn it to dinner, buying a car, to the swing club, out dancing and karaoking (sp?) in vanilla bars, and even just sitting around the house. Think Samuel L. Jackson in Formula 51. I wear it with a t-shirt or (on occassion) a peasant shirt - and boots (or barefoot, if the mood strikes).
