Where do you meet People

I was just curious where people mostly meet their swinging partners. Regardless of ay other factors, where do you meet your couples most often?

Also, tell your experiences and why you feel one is more successful than another.

When we were "new", internet sites worked for us. Then we started getting invitations to private parties and clubs.

We now prefer private parties and clubs - in person works best for us.

You'll hear it all over the threads: we don't meet people off the web because of the "no-show" factor. We started going to off-premise clubs, but they are becoming vogue with non-swingers in our area, so we've switched to on-premise clubs and found them to be much more to our liking.

People who show up at parties and clubs are at least there and some play. At the very least we get to watch/be watched and at the most we get into orgies.

We meet most people at clubs, BUT quite a few of those people we meet at clubs we meet because of Swing Lifestyle (ie. we get contacted there first, or contact them and THEN we actually meet at a club/social).

We meet people almost exclusively at clubs, mainly because we have limited time and it is the best way to met a lot of people with the minimum amount of effort.

We meet playmates in a variety of ways...

The large majority, we meet on-line through yahoo groups and others. Yeah, there are some no-shows, and some who just want to email back and forth for months. And misc other hassles (e.g., pic collectors). But of the folks we've met that way, the large majority have been nice folks and good playmates.

The second largest group we've met are at adult bookstores and theaters. (hey, they're there with sex on their minds and they can't no show) Many of them have become friends and recurring playmates. We usually -- though not always -- go there with L dressed seductively; she definitely catches eyes, and things progress from there.

Third largest group is through various clubs and parties.

And finally, L occasionally picks up a guy in a vanilla situation and the guy gets lucky. Vanilla situations have included: at the pharmacy while getting her birth control pills refilled; a guy who caught her eye while driving; the captain on a scuba diving boat; the hired help at resorts; misc others. While these are fun for their spontanaeity, they're occasional and catch as catch can.

After all these years playing, on line groups are still our best resource.

We meet pretty-much everyone through the web. We kinda have to, because there are no clubs anywhere near us. The CA central coast is a beautiful place to live, but there's not a lot of people, which means not a lot of swingers, either -lol!

Even so, we've met many wonderful couples thanks to websites like Swing Lifestyle and AFF. Maybe there are a lot of fakes and flakes, but there really are lots of genuine couples, too. After a while, we sorta got-an-eye for picking out genuine profiles... but we've learned to keep it simple when it comes to online contacts, and not get too excited until we actually meet.

If we see an interesting profile we send a hello, inviting them to check out our profile and respond if they are interested - same thing vice versa when we recieve a hello. We have plenty of current pics, and always like to exchange pics up front. If they won't, that's pretty-much the end of it. If everyone likes what they've seen and read, great. Maybe an IM or two, maybe a phone call, then we meet. We are not into long drawn out online communications unless there is a specific meet-up planned.

We get emails from and meet a lot of couples traveling through or vacationing in our area. The coast is truly beautiful here, and San Luis Obispo county is wine country. We like to play tour guide to sexy couples who are visiting and looking for fun, and of course we say so in our profile. It's given us the opportunity to meet cool couples from all over. We've been fortunate to make some lasting friendships, and make on-going connections with some really awesome people.

We've pretty much come full circle. We started with on premise clubs, added conventions and vacation locations to the mix and then decided to give the internet a try. We still meet people through the internet, but we're back to having better luck at clubs.

Good thread! I'm always interested in knowing where people have their best luck at meeting - actually, hooking-up and having SEX - with people.

I think this is such an important thing to keep in mind, there are many swingers who don't have clubs - especially on-premise clubs - nearby.

I wish we could have had that diversity with our swinging endeavors. Travel, other than a couple hours away - just isn't in the cards. And neither is attending an on-premise club since there aren't any nearby.

We have always had our best luck connecting through ad sites, then we meet privately and nearly always have sex on the first meet, unless we don't click, but that's been rare. We have a selection process that has worked well for us and only meet when we feel the likelyhood is 90% that it will be full speed ahead.

I'd be interested to hear about your selection process, it sounds like you have good luck with it.

The internet was our last choice of ways to meet people, but after awhile we had little choice except to get on a site -- 'all the kids were doing it.'

I should first say that we have never been a couple who sends out tons of contact e-mail hoping someone will bite. We haven't contacted many people because we are both particular, especially MrLM. Everything in a profile has to be in place for us to make a contact: well-writen profile that lets us know they are sure about swinging and have the same target areas for play that we do, good pictures are important, and they have to be able to meet in one of the three metro areas we will travel to. No one we've contacted has ever turned us down for a meet, and we've never had a no-show or late-cancellation experience. We like meeting privately because the four of us can really get to know each other and we never have the distractions that occur when at a swinger club.

Since we have no clubs of any type here -- we have to rely on lifestyle parties, and through the internet sites. We actually don't have a hard time meeting people and things have gone pretty well. There are plenty of internet groups consisting of people we've met at lifestyle parties. There's a ton of people in the lifestyle here, and it's not hard to meet great people.

For now we have no other choice than to use Swing Lifestyle and sn as there doesnt seem to be any meet and greet get togethers near us....and we are looking for older couples like our selves...

We prefer to look for our playmates at on premise clubs. That way we have a chance to speak to find out what the couple is into and we also can see what each other look like in person.
