On different occasions you have noted that compared with many other folks on this board, while you have a lot of sex, your number of partners is small. I’ve inferred that your professional background is scientific/technical so I know you would be leery of drawing conclusions based on a limited sample size.

 

I’ve been sexually active for sixty years and active in the lifestyle — including parties/orgies, with small and large groups, with couples together and with women alone in a private setting — for more than two decades. And while I cannot give you a specific number of women I’ve observed have orgasms, either as their partner or watching, it’s well over 100 individual women (sometimes one orgasm and sometimes more than a thousand).  My observation is that women’s responses to stimulation are all over the map. (And yes, I realize that the responses I’ve observed in large groups or with casual partners don’t necessarily accurately reflect how they are in private with a longterm partner.) The best recommendations I received were from the women I work with. I found out about that suction toy making it a now favorite for me. Another recommendation sounded horrible, in reality it is strange and is much different, an e-stim toy that causes shocks and muscle contractions which in turn stimulate to orgasm quicker.

It makes sense in that context.  I was originally thinking of a woman using a battery vibrator to achieve a first or perhaps second orgasm and thinking that it would take longer than the batteries would last.

 

I must admit as well that we woman have on occasion had long oral sessions in pursuit of a follow-up orgasm.  But still, I'm impressed that anyone would go that hard and long to achieve one more O instead of giving it a rest and going at it again later.

We placed an order for a Magic Wand rechargeable because I read that it has more vibrations that are stronger which also scares me more. Wish I were able to test use them first, can I return a toy?

1. Toys are likely not returnable if used. If there is a mechanical problem on receipt, of course. 

 

2. It's not just the strength of the vibrations, it's how you best position the head. Curvatures of the two heads is not the same. The smaller head and thus the tighter curvature makes it more natural to slide between Mrs. FL's labia at the top of the introitus against the exposed clitoris. It really is a preference. My sister-in-law (Mrs. FL's sister) is perfectly content with her toys that run on AA batteries. Mrs. FL rolls her eyes at that. I am impressed.  I can have ten orgasms in a day, but not in a row.  Three, four, or maybe five in one session, but even then after two it's after cuddling, switching partners, restarting.

As we have often remarked, no question is too simplistic or awkward in the LS. Curiosity matters, and learning is part of the fun. 

 

Wand-type vibrators are meant to be used externally, not inserted into body cavities. There are two asterisks that need to be added, however...

 

1. There are plenty of porn videos showing the occasional woman with a "relaxed" vaginal passage inserting the head of these things. For the average woman, however, it's a definite "no".

DN, your wife isn’t the only person for whom battery level might not be front of mind. As in your case mine was years ago. We had four cordless phones and my wife had a habit of not replacing the handsets in their charger-cradles. I once phoned her from a lengthy business trip. Based on the NYT piece and some of the comments--public and private -- here, Mrs FL is the owner of a new Womanizer Classic 2. I have a trip away coming up in the near future, and that will be Mrs FL's time to see how she likes it. She likes to try toys out in private first to see what she likes about them and what works best for her. Not all make the grade (what does one do with toys that do not quite do what someone wants?
