Your bodies are yours and the decisions are yours. I've heard of reasons more trivial than participation in the swing lifestyle. But here's a thought. I had a vasectomy in the year 1982. But I have told more than one young prospective female partner that she should always be suspicious of any claim of a sterilization operation -- including my claim -- and take her own appropriate precaution.

 

So what am I saying? The ability to say "I can't make you pregnant" will, in the average case, not mean very much for a fertile woman. Women should and do take their own precautions.

Like was previously stated, do not play games with bare back. Truth sometimes can be exaggerated, for the pleasure of bare back. By all means, go ahead with vasectomy and tubal ligation. They are effective methods for contraception. My vasectomy was around 1988.

Hey all,

They have shown us the papers for the procedure and we will both do the same as well. We have also agreed to go together to get tested for HIV and other STDs as proof. Of coarse there is always risk but that comes with swinging. A condom can always break, the Pill can though not often fail, etc. We think risk can be dealt with. People do this after all.

We both are surgically sterile. My husband a few years before we started swinging and me after. Both the surgeries went great and we were very happy with it. We still use condoms for std prevention. I'm really happy I don't have to worry about getting pregnant or my husband getting someone pregnant. It was definitely worth it. I paid about $1000 after insurance, I don't think my husband had to pay anything. He was just off work one day, I'm a stay at home mom, but probably would have been off work a few days.

I'm not sure I would be honored that someone wants to go bareback with you. In our area, it is very common not to use condoms when swinging. It's just people's preference, not really anything special. And it is a risk if you are not exclusive with them and vice versa, but exclusivity has it's own emotional risks as well.

Well, I don't specifically mean when we were together, but as well as before we got together.

 

I've been with about 50 women, about half of them bareback.

Like I said we are aware of the risks, we know it is a very low risk if others can prove they are clean from a health clinic. Obviously using condoms lessens the risk.

We live in a Swing state! It is not really a small area, or that everyone knows each other well. There are a lot of swingers and clubs, parties, etc here, though. It is just very common here that people don't use condoms. It is surprising to me, that we are in the minority among people we know.
