We just returned from HBR. We go at least once a year for 7 to 10 nights. We like HBR because it definitely a 4 to 5 star all inclusive resort. It's not cheap, but worth it. The staff at the resort is extremely good and most have been there for years. We are greeted by name when we arrive.

HBR is about 1 1/2 hours from CUN and is next to Seaside El Dorado resort. If you want to get dressed, there are 6 or 7 more restaurants there that are included with your HBR package.

The restaurant at HBR (only is one) is good. We like the breakfast buffet and if you want you can order from a menu too. Rob usually asks for special shrimp and fish dishes, which the chef does his best to furnish and does not disappoint.

We can usually find a house wine we enjoy. The liquor is not exactly top shelf but not bad and if you request something special, they usually will get it. The in-room frig is kept stocked with any drink items you request.

Evening entertainment varies from night to night and tends to be a shorter version of the entertainment next door at SeaSide.

The people staying at the resort range in ages from 30's to 70's with the majority in the 45 to 55 age range. The resort is definitely not out in the open naughty or swinger oriented, but what goes on behind closed doors are the couples' business.

Theme nights still are not too well attended and nightlife action ends pretty early.

If anyone has any questions, we'll do our best to respond back.

Hi J&D, your private mail box is full.

We have been to a lifestyle take over at Calente Caribbe in the Dominican Republic. We felt out of place several times as being more into flashing, exhibitionism and nudism with a bit of soft swing. We didn't mind the sex in public but didn't care for theme nights, etc. No one was pushy though. We think Caribe is now closed or only available for big room block reservations.

We were at Desire south of Cancun several days on passes/sneaking in by tipping staff at beach/pool side while we were staying at Azul Sensitori resort down the beach. Slip your suit off while walking by on the public beach and disappear into the resort pool area. For the most part Desire was fine but more lifestyle than we probably are comfortable with. No one was pushy here either. It was very nice and we would consider going back, but when we were there the crowd was more Julie's age with Rob being a bit older than average.

Hidden Beach, we did privately hook up with another couple for several days on several different trips. Lots of watching and being watched having sex and soft play behind closed doors and feels in the hot tubs in the evenings, etc. We like Hidden Beach because of access next door to the sister resort with 7 ot 8 more restaurants. All 4 star probably. All depends on who is at resort for the fun! This place is plenty expensive but is probably our favorite place.

Mira Vista in AZ, we like as it's nudist oriented most of the time although it had private invitation parties at onsite condos and campers that were very swing oriented a couple years ago at Halloween time. We like it as we can fly into Mesa on Alligent air fairly cheaply.

Right now, we probably are more oriented towards Caliente Tampa due to air fares.... We find the place nice and very nudist/sun oriented during the week. On Friday and Saturdays, it's much more party swing oriented starting with wine/cocktail party Friday afternoon/evening and club partying later in the evening and on Saturday nights. Julie is younger than average here and Rob's age is about average. The conversation pool area outside the club gets pretty interesting late at night as we never have had so many invitations to swing and party. That's one of the places Julie was sitting in the tub/pool and was being felt up by the lady next to her and the lady's guy grabbed hold of my dick.. I kind of move a bit away from him... Funny thing, when I got grabbed again, my dick was hard. Caliente probably has the most boughten fake boobs of any place we've been... Julie had almost the only naturals and some of the older guys tended to hit on her but really never were out of line. Julie said she wouldn't go here without me close at hand so to say.

We also like Desert Sun Resort in Palm Springs, nudist but private parties in rooms and condos do occur. There are a few too many rules, like not being allowed to carry in booze/drinks around pools, etc.....

Living Waters near Palm Springs is also nice with only 7 rooms or so...... It's a bit more hippy and yoga oriented,, too much for us.

Sea Mountain at Desert Hot Springs near Palm Springs is very lifestyle oriented. We were there on a day pass and saw probably the most sex acts in one small resort in short time periods of anyplace we've ever been and some of the ladies were young and model material too.

We have gone to a couple's friendly gay resort on a day pass to sun and for Julie to watch a bit on a weekday from 11 AM to 5 PM. When we left, we were told that gay guys complained and that the resort probably would not allow couples in the future. This definitely holds the records for casual guy guy BJ's around a pool area. Rob kept his shades on and was amazed, later telling Julie that she'd have to up her game regarding BJ's LOL

Our next scheduled romp is to Hidden Beach in March of 2016.

Terra Cotta people have 6 weeks blocked out for a take over of the remodeled terra cotta faciltiy in July and August of 2016... We have a week reserved the first week of August. We understand the remodeled terra cotta will be renamed the Monkey Tree (original 1960's name. Julie and Rob

Thanks for the additional information and for letting us know about our mailbox (problem has now been rectified). We may have to check out Hidden Beach for our next trip to Cancun. We're 'concerned' about the huge new resort that is being built next door to Desires. The staff said that the new place is going to be topless, but further research showed that isn't necessarily true...while being topless is ok on the beaches, the hotel that is being built does not advertise being topless...or even couples only.

We are off to Hidden Beach Resort. We leave out of Omaha on 2/29 and have a swim up room reserved. We too understand that a high rise is being built next to Hidden Beach, so it might not be hidden so much anymore. We will check it out and report back here. Julie

Late last night, we got back from our week long trip to Hidden Beach Resort (a Karisma group hotel) located south of Cancun about an hour and 20 minutes (very slow and safe drivers).

We kept notes of our thoughts and comments for use in a review here or should it all be put in the stories section?

We were at HBR from Tuesday noon to Tuesday afternoon.

We will write this HBR review with our observations in several installments.

We left out of Omaha at 5:40 AM on Tuesday 03/01. For more gracious flying, we paid and checked our one bag. The flight to Houston was full, even overbooked with our small uncomfortable seats in the far back section. People carry way too much on resulting in slow boarding and unboarding and crowded conditions. We had a few minutes to get from gate to gate but weren't too rushed in Houston, and once again the plane was overbooked and our small uncomfortable seats were again in the back.

Our plane was at CUN by 10:30 AM our time. Lomas Travel arranged by HBR met us and by private car transported us to HBR. The Lomas Travel vehicles and drivers are very safe and SLOW, so settle back have a two buck beer and relax for the slow ride. There was a traffic jamb at the HBR gate entrance with jambed up parked cars, construction vehicles, taxis, etc. The common entry gate to HBR, Sensimar and El Dorado Seaside is basically one lane and with all the construction in the past two years, is now very congested and slow. Once the gate guards rearranged the que, we started down the long drive to the resorts. Big Change, the narrow drive was congested with traffic, guests hiking along, etc. The drive is now too narrow for all the traffic and there are no sidewalks, so people walk in the drive. For a Mexico "nice" supposedly 4 to 5 star resort, this was not good.

Once we reached the entry of HBR check in went well, but we were definitely noticing the high rise hotel tower at the Karisma Group's Sensimar and the new El Dorado Towers on either side of HBR. The little palm tree shaded HBR and original Seaside (now Sensimar) two storied nice resort buildings have the large new towers towering over them with many more guests about. Weather, low 80's, sun and a light breeze.

Check in on the HBR "bright side" went well as usual with "welcome home" greetings from the staff who we mostly knew from prior stays. It's pretty interesting to be called by name at resort when you check in. Our swim up room was ready so we immediately went there to undress and apply sunscreen. On the way to the room, we walked past and looked in the new Moonlight Lounge, which is very nice. Our room was in the far end of the HBR 1100 block of rooms at the far end of the resort next to the three new HBR presidential suites (built where the old moonlight lounge was located) with the new El Dorado Seaside 6 story tower adjacent (other side of a fence) next to the HBR suites. The guests at the HBR presidential suites and the new tower soon became an issue and concern. More about this later.

Rob was nude and out the sliding doors first and to the water to wade over to the bar and La Vista Restaurant, where the bartender greeted him and asked where I (Julie) was! Very nice that he remembered us from our last stay. When I got to the La Vista Restaurant, Rob already had an original style margarita in hand and a table for lunch. Lunch was either a really good buffet around the pool or order from the menu. As usual, Rob ordered special shrimp in butter and Ajo that was not on the menu. The bartender, Alberto, pool waitress Esperanza, and the waiters, Angel, Arnufo, Aciento were there to greet us like old times. It's amazing the staff is so stable and remember guest names and preferences for drinks and food from visit to visit. Very definitely, the food was perhaps the best ever at HBR. Order what you want, and the staff does a great job whether the food in on the menu or not. Order as little or as much as you want. We rate the food and drink at HBR as 4 or 5 start (Mexican nice ) and the service definitely 5 star.

The guest occupancy at HBR was about 75% full, so that is about 60 guests total in 30 or so rooms. Guest ages, about 1/2 were in their 40's and younger, 1/4 were in their 50's and 1/4 were 60 and older with the oldest guest 88 years old we learned later. With the youngest guests being two ladies in their late 20's and Julie and another couple ladies under 34 or 35 years old and so many guests 40's and younger, there was definitely more energy at the resort than during our last visit. 3 or 4 of the couples, we had met before at HBR. There were 3 single men staying at the resort, one being a cool studly 60 year old Australian Doctor on walkabout and other two younger, strange, starey, lurker types.

As usual at the nudist oriented resort, people were all very friendly with it being very easy to strike up conversations in and around the pool, the restaurant, etc. After lunch, Rob and I hit the beach to sun on beach lounges. We had tanned some before leaving Dakota so had a head start, but we still use sunscreen liberally. As usual, the towels were plentiful and very good quality. The crushed coral sand, seawall, chaise lounges and beach beds were in very good condition.

Now for the first bad issue (3 or 4 bad or concerning things total): Being in the HBR 1100 block of rooms on the end, our room and beach areas in front of our room are nearest the new HBR presidential suites and 20 yards from the new El Dorado Seaside Tower (textile and dark side which opened about 10 days before we arrived). There is a green privacy fence between nude HBR and textile El Dorado but it doesn't extend down into the sea. One can walk out around the privacy fence and go from resort to resort. We were on beach lounges, nude, stretched out and sunning next to the HBR seawall in front of our room and immediately noticed clothed El Dorado guests walking over to the nude beach side to stare. Some had their cameras, phones and Ipads out taking photos. Looking up, someone had a big long telephotos lens camera aimed down at us from the 6th floor of the El Dorado. Rob immediately went the the HBR front desk and complained. Security immediately removed the El Dorado people from the HBR side. For the most of the rest of our stay, security personnel were stationed full time on the beach line between El Dorado and HBR. From this moment on, we spent our time down in front of HBR's 1200 block of rooms and out of site away from the El Dorado. When we looked, several times, clothed El Dorado Guests would be standing at the at the water line with their Ipads up taking photos, This is very bad and we don't know what the resort management was thinking when the new El Dorado Seaside textile resort was construction where and as it was.. We think HBR may have to move to a more secure and private location, close or greatly increase security, etc. They really need to have maps and information regarding the new construction so close to HBR so guest can evaluate room locations, etc. and if they want to stay there.

More later. Julie

Excellent review. My wife and I are having our first experiences with clothing-optional resorts and this information is very helpful.

This is the same thing that I'm afraid will happen to Desire Riviera Maya with the new HUGE hotel being built. Was hoping that Hidden Beach would be a possible replacement (just in case). Sounds like it won't be :( Looking forward to hearing the rest (and hoping that this was the worst of the bad for you).

Second Day, Wednesday:

We slept in until 9:30 AM, got cleaned up and Rob, nude, walked over to the La Vista (nude restaurant) for breakfast. La Vista is in the center of HBR with 1200 block rooms to one side and 1100 block rooms to the other side and the new Moonlight Lounge behind the restaurant. The restaurant you can order off a menu, order custom breakfasts and the restaurant has a great breakfast buffet with lots of high quality fruit and a custom egg preparer. The wait staff all remember and know our likes and dislikes from past visits. This is 5 star service at its best. Before Rob was done with breakfast, I joined him at the table.

On the way to breakfast, we had both picked up fresh beach towels to sit on during breakfast. Rob and several other men and a couple of ladies were eating in the nude. A few people had HBR terrycloth robes on. A few other women and I had skimpy swimsuit cover ups (open knit or open front robes over nude) on for breakfast. Rob and I had both noted the obvious security men now at the beach line between the new El Dorado Royal and HBR.

When we were done with breakfast, we went back to our room and slathered on sunscreen and went to the beach to find lounge chairs to spread out on and sun. We stayed towards the middle of HRB's ocean front and not in front of our room (simply too near El Dorado for our comfort). Esperanza does a great job as the beach/pool waitress. Partly sunny skies, 80 degrees and light breezes with gentle waves made this a great day to be sunning. Only once during the day, a clothed couple got past security (during a shift change) and ended up in the middle of HBR. Rob complained again and security was altered again immediately so there was fewer lapses in security.

Lunch was really good again. We ate about 2 PM. We think the food is better than ever at HBR with a good pool side buffet lunch selection and being able to sit down and order at La Vista too. Rob still orders what and as much as he wants without regard to menus and seems to always get it. This trip for him, it was usually shrimp grilled in butter and chopped garlic for lunch. We headed back to the beach to sun, nap and read some more.

We noticed that a couple of couples had completed their vacations and were gone and a couple of new couples had joined us at the resort. This slow changeover of the guests went on each day, so each day, new people were introducing themselves, and we all were getting to know each other, trading stories and exchanging recommendations on resort destinations, etc.

Hot tubbing started again about 5ish. The majority in the tub again were Canadians again and really nice people. Once again the subject kept coming around to other clothes optional resorts. People who had been to Sea Mountain in Palm Springs, we knew were open swingers. We also met people who had been to Mira Vista as well as resorts we mentioned yesterday. Rob and I both made an effort to remember people who had been to other resorts, because that was a good way to help determine who might me open or soft swingers (this proved right) as open swinging and pda's are prohibited by HBR rules. Actually, we really never saw anyone warned or chided about touching, rubbing, etc. but then in public during the days, pda's were pretty mild.

Once again by 7 PM, we were in our room cleaning up, resting and getting dressed to go to next door to Sensimar to the PUB for dinner. HBR guests can get dressed and use the next door El Dorado and Sensimar restaurants and facilities too, but guests next door can't come over to HBR (unless they try to sneak in) without paying a day fee and getting nude. From experience, the HBR staff keeps pretty good tabs on who is who.

The PUB has some pretty good menu items and it was busy. We waited nearly an hour to get a table. Servers on the "dark side" are definitely much more busy and overworked. Guests to staff ratios are really good at HBR compared to the adjacent "dark side" resorts. With all the changes and the addition of the new towers, we think the "dark side's" restaurants may be overloaded for primetime reservations and seating.

By 9:30 PM, we were back to the "bright side" in HBR and immediately went to our room to ditch clothes. Rob did the bottomless Hawaiian shirt look again and I picked out another really short open front robe to wear to the Moonlight Lounge's nightly show. After an drink or two and relaxing, my robe is untied and open too. Once again, a few men were nude, most something on like Rob's shirt and pant less look, were wearing HBR robes, BDSM leather items or even the resort wear they wore to eat at the "dark side" sister restaurants next door. I don't believe any of the women were nude in the Moonlight Lounge, but were wearing very revealing lingerie items, laced pushup corsets, open front short shear robes left untied, short open knit swimsuit cover ups and also BDSM leather wear. Some women, me included had heels on with others barefoot in sandels.

A 4 member nice combo was playing for the evening's live entertainment. Visiting and dancing were fun. After the combo's set was finished about 10:30 PM, many of the guests left for their rooms leaving about a dozen couples and the single Australian doctor in the lounge listening and dancing to the DJ's selection of music. The good doctor was pretty upfront moving from group to group and couple to couple on the make for a 3-some. Rob and I are sure he was successful most nights. It was humorous that he chatted us up each night in the lounge. He was at HBR when we arrived and was still there a week later when we left.

The people around the lounge's high tables got pretty friendly. The guys by now all pretty much had their shirts open with it all "hanging out" and several had half erections going! I "discretely" reached over to hold Rob's semi erect penis and found the women next to him had a hold of him already, so I just patted her hand and jiggled his balls. The women's robes were all open. Guys at tables and dancing had worked women's' cover ups and lingerie up and/or down to show bare boobs, bottoms and pussy. Very sexy vibes in the room by this time. We discussed swinging with one of the newly arrived couples, but they were looking for full, open swap. It was getting late, so Rob and I made our goodbyes and went back to our room for the night.

All in all, a really nice and fun day. We do like HBR and hope they keep security up. We did hear a pretty rumor that a new 60 room HBR is being considered down the beach beyond Sensimar, but no time table is available yet.

More later if anyone shows interest. J&R

Beautiful place.

How do you spend that much time nude at a place like this and still enjoy it. I can't spend more than an hour at the beach in Hawaii without burning even with an spf60 much less wondering what would happen to the parts of my body that have never seen the sun light directly?

It looks like it would be a beautiful place to go.

My wife are heading back to Hidden Beach resort (home) on March23-31.. We cant wait... I love be naked all day in the pool and being social and free. we are a lifestyle couple also and have met a few couples ther einto it also but never played.. what about all of you?

We are also Exotic club members from the resort r u also?

We are exotic club members too. We have 100+ weeks to use yet. We have the time and means to travel lots and have figured out that we break even if we use exotic once a year in Mexico and really come out good if we use it two or three times a year. We are Ruby members now.

We like doing 5 days or a week at El Dorado Royal or El Dorado Maroma then a full week at Hidden Beach Resort.

We never have really had problems getting bored at any of these resorts. Actually, HBR is really the best as people are friendlier at nude resorts and easier to meet and get to know... Body painting, volley ball, beach beds, reading, cooking classes and more keep one from becoming bored.

Sunrise, we do tanning beds for a couple weeks before going to a nude resort. We use SPF 30 and 45 on everything. There are umbrellas, the beach beds, etc. it the sun is too intense during the middle of the day. Julie and Rob

In regards to the question about sunburn, we go to Desire every year and have never had a problem. We are both fair. I do not like to tan at all. I wear sunscreen and stay in the shade by or in the pool.

Trip The Spring to Karisma's Hidden Beach Resort (nude) (A bit of a repeat but most of our notes are here now regarding HBR)

Our room was in the HBR 1100 block of room at the far end of the resort next to the three new HBR presidential suites (built where the old moonlight lounge is located) with the new El Dorado Seaside 6 story tower adjacent (other side of a fence) next to the HBR suites. The guest at the HBR presidential suites and the new tower soon became an issue and concern. More about that later.

Rob was out the sliding doors first and to the water to wade over to the bar and La Vista Restaurant, where the bartender greeted him and asked where I (Julie) was! Amazing the staff is so stable and remember names and preferences for drinks and food from visit to visit. Very definitely, the food was perhaps the best ever at HBR. Order what you want, and the staff does a great job whether the food in on the menu or not. Order as little or as much as you want. We rate the food and drink as 4 or 5 start (Mexican) and the service definitely 5 star.

The other guests, HBR was about 75% full, so that is about 60 guests. Guest ages, about 1/2 were in their 40's and younger, 1/4 were in their 50's and 1/4 60 and older with the oldest guest 88 years old we learned later. With the youngest guests being two ladies in their late 20's and Julie and another couple ladies under 34 or 35 years old and so many guests 40's and younger, there was definitely more energy at the resort than during our last visit. 3 or 4 of the couples, we had met before at HBR. There were 3 single men staying at the resort, one being a cool studly 60 year old Australian Doctor on walkabout and other two younger, strange, stary, lurker types.

Now for the first bad issue (3 or 4 bad or concerning things total): Being in the HBR 1100 block of rooms on the end, our room and beach areas in front of our room are nearest the presidential suites and 20 yards from the new El Dorado Seaside Tower. There is a green privacy fence between HBR and El Dorado but it doesn't extend down into the sea. One can walk out around the fence and go from resort to resort. We were on lounges, nude and sunning next to the HBR seawall in front of our room and immediately noticed clothed El Dorado guests walking over to the nude beach side to stare. Some had their cameras, phones and Ipads out taking photos. Looking up, someone had a big long telephotos lens camera aimed down at us from the 6th floor of the El Dorado. Rob immediately went the HBR front desk and complained. When we looked, several times, clothed El Dorado Guests would be standing at the water line with their Ipads up taking photos,, This is very bad and we don't know what the resort management was thinking when the new El Dorado Seaside was construction where and as it was.. We think HBR may have to move or close or greatly increase security, etc. They really need to have maps and information regarding the new construction so close to HBR.

More later. Julie

This is 5 star Mexican service at its best. Before Rob was done with breakfast, I joined him at the table.

On the way to breakfast, we had both picked up fresh beach towels to sit on during breakfast. Rob and several other men and a couple of women were eating in the nude. A few people had HBR terry cloth robes on.

Some women, me included had heels on with others barefoot in sandals.

Third Day, Thursday;

We'll write out the next few day in shorter form as it get more repetitious.

Breakfast as usual was good. The breakfast serve yourself buffet and egg station are nice and you can order anything you want on or off the menu. Angel and the waiters do a wonderful job.

It rained on and off all day. The temperature was nice and there was little wind so it wasn't too bad. We did play a nice round of bridge with friends at a table in LaVista after lunch

Fourth Day, Friday:

Similar breakfast routine. There was some rain early so people wore robes and were towel wrapped as it was cool. We all sat around and visited, drank coffee, etc.

The sun broke out and Rob and I hit the beach. We had tanned in Dakota before the trip so were using #30 sunscreen.

We did pull shorts and tops on and walked next door to the Sensimar Resort side and ate pizza in the outdoor cafe area. Karisma resorts has been pushing the renamed resort to Europeans and it was pretty full.

Dinner at the pub next door a Sensimar required us to dress but the food was worth it.

Party like a Rock Star at the Moonlight really brought some nice lingerie out, etc. Many of the guys still stuck with the button front shirts and no pants.

Fifth Day, Saturday:

Much the same, we slept in and did breakfast. We both had Angel the waiter come up with a Mayan breakfast, which is not on the menu. The chef's and staff are great!

We ate lunch around the pool from the buffet with some of the items being cooked poolside. The staff are 5 star all the way.

We sunned and played volley ball before hitting the hot tub at 4ish.

After eating dinner at the LaVista (mostly nude), Hawaiian night at the Moonlight was the show we enjoyed probably the most. The Mexican Hawaiian girls could really shake it.

After the show, a 4 piece rock band with a girl singer came on. The music was really good for dancing and was not overpowering for visiting. Some of the ladies really had dance moves. We hooked up with Canadians for soft swing at their room later.

Sixth Day, Sunday:

The breakfasts are really good, Robs favorite meal. We think having a few tables pushed together and inviting people to sit together is a good way to get to know each other too. You will find out fast which people are friendly and which people are more solitary.

We went to beach and sunned and read again. We both played in the volley ball game.

The really good body painter guest painted necklaces, bangles, bracelets, etc. on all the girls who wanted them. Some of his boob are was fantastic. This guy was a seriously good body painter

Later we hung in pool drinking and visiting with other couples.

About 4ish, people again started moving to the hot tub. The hot tub is best place to get to know people and determine who had been to lifestyle clubs, resorts and events for later reference for who might be into soft swing and more at the Moonlight.

Circus night at the Moonlight had a really nice little show with the same performers that did the lingerie show.

Seventh Day, Monday:

Good breakfast at the group table with really nice people.

We went to beach and sunned and read. Played volley ball. Hung in pool visiting with other couples.

About 4ish, people started moving to the hot tub. The hot tub was each late afternoon the best place to get to know people and determine who had been to lifestyle clubs, resorts and events for later reference and hook ups at the Moonlight.

Body painting during the day. A friend painted Julie with great daisy duke short shorts and a button front shirt. The body paint was what she wore to dinner and to the Moonlight Lounge show and social later. This was the only night at the Moonlight that Julie spent the entire evening nude (just the paint).

Karaoke at the Moonlight had a couple of good singers and was over early. The half dozen more swing friendly (soft and hard) couples hung out (so to say) until perhaps 10:30 PM with some hook ups made. We played together on a beach bed without hooking up.

Eighth Day, Tuesday:

We slept in until 8ish and then did a bit of packing and laid out some clothes before walking nude to La Vista restaurant at the pool for a fast breakfast. We sat at the group table in center and started goodbyes to our friends there.

After a quick breakfast, we went to the beach and did power sunning (no sun screen) until 11 AM.

At 11:00 AM Esperanza reminded us of the time. Back to the room we went, showered, dressed, finished packing and called the front desk to pick up our little bags (you don't pack much when going to a nude resort we find).

We did the clothed "walk of shame" back over to La Vista to say goodbye to the staff and our friends, ate a quick snack for lunch and left with the arranged Lomas transportation for the airport. Lomas drivers really drive safe and slow!

Checking in with the airline was simple with short lines. We paid for and checked one bag to fly easily and graciously. Too many people carry too much on!. The Mexican airport security is fast and efficient as usual in our experience. The CUN terminal was very busy, but planes were arriving and leaving on time. We had a nice flight to ORD.

ORD! What a terrible immigration, customs and TSA security experience. Huge, long, slow lines without nearly enough work stations open to process people. We had nearly two hours to make our connecting flight and just made it moments before the doors closed. The flight to OMA was great, baggage easy pickup and we were home by 10 PM.

Estimated Scores and Statistics for Our Trip:

HBR was 75% to 80% full with about 60 to 70 total guests on any given day.

3 to 6 couples checked out and 3 to 6 new couples checked in each day.

2 to 3 dark side incursions to HBR occurred each day from the El Dorado Seaside even with enhanced security on the beach line. No big problems occurred but for what HBR

costs, security should be better and no part of the resort should not be visible to IPAD and telephoto cameras as it is now.

Food was Mexican Resort 5 star, especially if you took time to order what you wanted even if

it was not on a buffet or menu

Drink quality and liquor brand are 3 star unless you request specific brands, carefully instruct and watch preparation. We don't like many of the mixes they use in Mexico.

House wines (Chile) were ok but not great. We did not special order wines at an extra cost.

Beers were really good from the can. Rob did not like the tap beers very well.

We made love everyday and twice or more some days. We participated in soft swing fun twice

on beach beds at night, once in the Moonlight Lounge, once in friends' room and once in our room.

We had two really good offers to go to couples' room for full swap, which we did not accept as well are into soft swing.

Will we go back to HBR? Yes, but we would stay in the 1200 block rooms far from the adjacent new tall El Dorado Seaside tower as possible and wait for good sales promotions and airfares. It probably would be fun to go to HBR with a lifestyle take over week, which we've never done.

Because of the costs involved, we don't recommend HBR from after Thanksgiving until March due shorter days and cooler weather even if they claim the pool is heated (minimal at best).

We don't recommend going to HBR in September and October due to hurricane season and the probability of cloudy, no sun for days on end with humid and warm temperatures.

Thanks for the report. I just went with a few people but would not like to be just wandering around naked between sessions. It's good to find that out about myself.

In reading your review it all too often reminded us of our last stay at Desire...Breakfast, sun, lunch, sun/vollyball, jacuzzi, dinner, show, bed. Even the problems with the high rise resort next door (the one at Desire RM hasn't opened when we were there but I dread that there are now similar problems). Thanks for the time to write all of this. We keep debating whether our next trip to Cancun will be back to Desire RM or Hidden Beach. Luckily, we have some time before having to make that choice.

We just returned from our stay at Hedonism 2 in Jamaica and the worst part of it was having to leave. I wanted to thank everyone here and those that left reviews elsewhere for your recommendation. We were NOT disappointed. While many people are in different stages of the lifestyle with different interests, I wanted to provide my feedback to help them decide or provide some insight for those just getting started in the lifestyle.

The facility was laid out very well, while they have a nude side and a prude side, either side is perfectly fine to choose and it is a very short walk should you choose to explore. The so called prude side, housing and beach, is the perfect place to spend the morning recovering from the night before or simply hang out in a quiet place for peaceful morning, relaxation and enjoy a more private intimate moment with your spouse or simply open a book to read. Clothing is optional, so do expect to see both nude, partially nude and fully clothed people.

The Nude side, is the perfect place for party time, anything goes to the wildest and most open forms in sexual interaction. The best way to describe the beach is 0 to 10. You can choose to be totally isolated at the very end of the beach where it starts on the border to the next resort and can walk down to the other end  which ends up being a non stop 24/7 party! You can basically walk along (a short easy walk) and choose to stay wherever you like. While being nude is required for this side, you can still expect to see some people with some sort of covering, sheer/lace, hat even a sarong.

      Logistics:
The Food is delicious, all kinds of food available for just about every taste, the staff is also familiar to help you with any food allergies and sensitivities. Don't hesitate to ask should you have some concerns regarding the ingredients, the staff is very friendly and happy to get any questions answered. On one occasion, (Asian Food Night) the chef came out personally went over which dishes contained gluten and pointed out what was safe. I stopped him half way through because there was more than enough to eat. Plates, Silverware, Napkins were all very clean, staff visited the table often to top off drinks and take away any plates.

The Bars were fully stocked, the drinks were properly mixed and no sense of being watered down or weak like we saw at other resorts. If you want an extra strong drink, they were happy to oblige but the standard drink was as you would expect.
While they didn't have bottled water, you are given a reusable container with plenty of fill stations. The refill stations throughout the resort are triple filtered with UV to provide safe clean drinking water. The water was clean, odorless and tasted as you would expect from bottled water.

The pools were clean and open to everyone, most of which are clothing optional with the exception of the one group of pools at the end of the nude side which was nude only. While there are several small pools through the resort, it was no trouble to find one that you can enjoy alone time with your mate. Same would go for hot tubs, plenty to choose from, private and open both nude and clothing optional.
The nude side has a row of pools, semi warm one with a swim up bar, snack bar, wading pool (warm), waterfall that is a fence for a more private cave, large open hot pool, large cold pool and a smaller hot tub which is very warm. All of which are connected and easy to jump from pool to pool.

      Nude Side:
      - Do expect 99% to be Nude
      - Do expect to view open sexual activity, everywhere, on the beach, on the deck, around the pool, in the pool, on the floating dock, in the water, on the sand...... everywhere but inside the restaurants.

      Maintenance:
While some did frown upon one pool or one room being closed as a given time, this is a good thing to be honest. The resort is basically a 24/7 establishment, there has to be a time where they perform maintenance and not every single room can be open 100% of the time. The resort is working hard to keep the property updated and clean, the closing of some rooms and pools should be expected. Nobody wants to go to a 'run down' resort. They are very conscious to maximize up time. For example, when we arrived the "Kamasutra Palace" was closed, we were a little upset at the moment but we saw that it was being repainted, new lighting fixtures being installed, floors being refinished and the whole building inside and outside being pressure washed. The next day, we went to find the other play room, just to find it closed but a sign hanging stating that the Kamasutra Palace was reopened and taking the place of the second play room. The same maintenance was going on there at the time. So there was always a play room open and while closing of any room sucks, it is nice to know they are keeping the buildings maintained and clean.

We saw two pools closed during our stay which was no big deal as there were still many to choose from. I was surprised that they drained one pool, scrubbed, painted, made repairs and was refilled and back in operation within 48 hours. I've seen pools closed for weeks at hotels to make these types of repairs. I saw their crew out there in the dark working until it was reopened.

Rooms: While the rooms were nice they were a little 'dated', wondering if they would be renovated anytime soon..... We then noticed 4 rooms with work crews gutting them for renovation, so do expect to see a new look on the other rooms the future
Our room had one small issue, a drip of condensation from the A/C Unit, before we can even make a report, the maid noticed it and automatically contacted the A/C Repair Folks, they were in there during the daily cleaning and had it fixed in about 20 minutes.

Beaches: The beaches were cleaned daily of leaves and debris but no real trash was ever noticed. The beaches and water were very clean, plenty of towels stocked, plenty of seating and hammocks to relax in. Some of the rooms also had private hot tubs on the deck facing the beach, a few in which we visited, all of which were cleaned and treated daily, good condition and proper working order.

Security: The beach is patrolled with several safety/security officers. None of which were a bother, they would greet you with a smile. I didn't see any of them up close to 'personal activity' but kept their distance. They were very professional and just let people do what they wanted for the most part. If there was some activity that kicked off, I noticed an officer excuse himself from that area and simply moved a little further away to provide privacy. The officers would routinely look in another direction and not take the scenes as a movie for them to watch. The staff was the same way, basically walk by and ignore the activity, no judging, no finger pointing, very very professional.
We did have one interaction, while we met some new friends, one of them required an 'assisted' walk back to her room due to a little intoxication, as she was staying in the room next to us, we offered to walk her back, not due to a security concern but more of a trip and fall consideration. We were approached by security and was kindly asked what was "going on here" we explained and all was well, they did keep an eye to ensure there wasn't something else taking place but allowed us to go on our own and kept a good distance.

      Guests:
The best part of the trip were the people there. We have never met such a great group of people in our entire life. The people were non judging, open, very easy to talk to, happy to converse with anyone. The demographics of the group was better than expected. If you're worried about a certain age group or nationality, let it be known that it is a very diverse group of people. We've met people of all age groups, even a few in their 70's, all sizes, shapes, colors, classes, singles, couples. There is simply something or someone for everyone, no matter your level of participation in the lifestyle, you will not be disappointed. The people were very respectful.

I highly recommend this resort to anyone, even if you're not currently practicing in the lifestyle, it is an experience that you will not forget.
If anyone has any questions, I will do my best to answer.

Hi, We are considering visiting Cherry Lane resort in Michigan. Can we hear some personal experiences? Any chance to have sex in public? (or semi-public area ???)

      Thank you!

      Simple question:

What are the differences between the Desire Riviera Maya PEARL resort and the Desire Riviera Maya Resort?

What do we need to know before choosing?

      THANKS!
