As I've alluded to in other posts, I'm encountering more and more men with condom issues in the lifestyle. And although I hate to say it, it seems to be age related. Hence, this poll for the men only...please answer honestly...no need to reveal your identity or comment unless you want to.

We believe condoms should be used by ALL parties involved in the swing-situation. We always make sure we have at least 2 condoms with us at all times (one for each male). If the other male refuses, then he loses.

We always use condoms for anal or vaginal penetration. Not for oral though. It does have an adverse affect to my technique though. At home I can go for over an hour, bringing her to orgasm several times before I let go. But during that time I might wilt a bit now and then. That would certainly lose a condom way up in there. So, when with someone else, after bringing her off several times manually and orally, I will go for intercourse, but will get off fairly quickly. For me that's about 15-20 minutes. She might have one or two O's. One of these days I might try the big V.

We use condoms for all vaginal or anal penetration. No exceptions, except with one couple we've known for 13+ years, and we're very close friends with (almost like family).

I can't think of us using condoms for oral contact in a long, long time.

I will never put myself or anyone else at risk by using a condom. I have learnt far too much about the toxins and carcinogens in latex to ever be that selfish.

If it costs me a f**k, too bad!

You are saying the carcinogens in latex, but you only speak of condoms. What about the other latex products out there? Should people in the medical profession stop wearing gloves, should I prevent my children from playing with balloons? Should I not sleep on a water bed? What about baby bottles? Should I not use them because of the latex nipples?

Dear Roxysbayou,

You may not know this but hospitals in the U.S. have stopped using latex gloves and in many States only Mylar balloons are allow in hospitals.

All vulcanized latex is toxic (natural latex is quite harmless but about as elastic as a soggy pizza).

The difference between condoms and other applications is that this is the only product rubbed with great force into the most unprotected parts of the body. It is estimated that you would have to wear gloves for a month to get the same amount of toxins in the

blood system as one single hour of sex.

If you have latex allergies ALL latex should be avoided but in normal conditions the issue is to have the minimum exposure to latex so allergies do not develop. One can take anything too far but condom use does not fall in this category.

Since 1983 17,000,000 Americans have developed latex allergies and thousands died of Type III reactions and latex induced cancers. The situation gets worse and worse and yet little action is being taken.

Dear John,

Thanks for the really nice post. All the attacks are making me wish I had not returned to the forum. I find it hard to stay silent on this issue and watch as more and more people suffer, simply because the media finds the subject 'too hot to handle'.

Political correctness can kill!

In all honesty, I just noticed over that last 25 years that very few people use condoms so I treat the subject lightly both ways.

It is easy online to be so rubber steadfast but when push comes to shove most people don't use them.

SO carry on ye messengers and in the meantime when we get the urge well...fuck.

John who has yet to see a swinger suffer from unprotected sex...or protected for that matter.

Yup. You can buy them. But sheepskin condoms are not very good at protecting against STD's, only pregnancy.

I looked at this question a few times. I'm very sorry. I just need to know. Why? Why would you want sheepskin rubbers?

Are they more sensitive? I picture the skin of a sheep. The sheep I have known, albeit few, seem to have skin kinda like a dogs. I have only petted sheep. Honest. I live in the south but this is grapefruit country. I like grapefruits though. They have more substance and endurance than an orange.

 No the reason that I asked that question was because Paul King kept talking about how toxic latex condoms are. But then after being reminded, I realized that they serve no purpose when it comes to STDs or HIV. So I guess the question was pointless.

Unless of course you were just wondering what a sheep would feel like. ;)

Yeah, we really do use condoms- all the time- really.

Of all the things that we can now die from, we now have latex cancer.....give me a fucking break ....

I live in Maryland- we have the worst air in the United States. I'm a little more worried about that than latex thank you very much.....

C'mon, the air in Maryland can't be that bad. Statistics demonstrate that for those that have bronchial problems and don't smoke, they fall into the 68th percentile of surviving octogenarians. I have no idea what I just said but Id bet you don't really have to worry bout the air in Maryland.

I have facts to prove this..honest, just follow the CDC reports.

Yes, always use condoms over here with penetration vaginally or anal if it ever occurred. Not for oral.

As for the latex allergy issue, what about the non-latex variety?

Wouldn't those be sufficient?

For non-latex condoms, you might want to look here for examples.

The new breed of condoms on the block are the non latex or polyurethane condoms. These new wave latex-free condoms are getting radical reviews with the ever growing Rip n Roll population. For those of you that are allergic to latex than this is the page for you. The polyurethane condoms are all FDA approved for pregnancy and disease prevention. Well me and my wife I don't know maybe we not swingers. We partake in sex with other men. Have several times. Not like it's everyday thing. Presently has been almost 10 months. lol definitely due to she her get a hard cock soon. Having withdrawals lol If the man was to wear a rubber, honestly there would be little reason to have her fuck him. I mean that's the main attraction for us both. To have her enjoy feeling his hot load shoot deep in side her. Being together afterwords with her pussy full of hopefully very thick creamy cum from another man is a definite high light. We spend very intimate moments together as we share the guys cum together. I especially love sloppy seconds. And then to shoot my load in her giving her what i refer to as a double load is wonderful. I think our sex life would die if we had to never get another's cum inside her. :( And as much as she loves to suck another guy off in front of me, I love to see that too. wow big time very very intimate to see and have her swallow. That could replace the load in her for a while but after time we would want it inside her again. Just addicted to it I think. :)

Yes yes I know what many will say we take our life in our own hands and the reality of it is that's very true. But the rewards we get are well worth the risk that we feel is percentage wise for us rather small. Been lucky this long just hope our luck holds out and when it don't that we so old were ready to check out. ;)

Dear Lostinvcp

A VERY colorful argument for not using condoms. I agree that a condom makes sex sterile, but I don't think this is as important reason for avoiding them as the health risk they represent.

You are not increasing your std risk (from any serious disease) by not using them and are avoiding the chance of cancers and LIDS.

The increased pleasure is nothing more than a welcome bonus but alone would not be a valid reason.

You have made the right choice but possibly for the wrong reasons....but then again what does that really matter?

It is hard to improve on nature.

Love without fear.

Condoms Don’t Work

Epidemic of sexual diseases; media strangely silent

By Yvette C. Cantu and Heather E. Farish

January 5--The United States has the highest rate of sexual disease in the developed world, and a higher rate than some developing countries.

Human papillomavirus is the most common incurable sexual disease in the United States, with as many as 24 million Americans currently infected. Known as HPV, the virus has been linked to over 90 percent of all invasive cervical cancers, and it is the number two cause of cancer deaths among women, after breast cancer. Approximately 16,000 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed each year, and 5,000 women die annually from this disease.

Even if condoms are used consistently and properly (which occurs only between 5 and 40% of the time), they still are ineffective barriers against disease. Condoms, whether used correctly and consistently or not, do not prevent the spread of HPV.

However, federally-funded, sexual health organizations and the Centers for Disease Control continue to promote condoms as effective disease barriers.

I think it's safe to say, after reading the complete article and not just the first 3.2 paragraphs that it was a misprint and meant to read:

Even if condoms are used consistently and properly (which occurs only between 5 and 40% of the time), they still are ineffective barriers against THE disease. Condoms, whether used correctly and consistently or not, do not prevent the spread of HPV.

I believe it stated that this was because HPV covers the entire genital region, including those not covered by a condom such as the scrotum, etc and is spread by skin-to-skin contact. Makes sense.. Hard to protect against something the condom doesn't have any contact with! I believe HPV was the only STD specifically mentioned in the article by doctors and the paper as not being effectively protected against by the use of condoms. In fact, there were many parts of the article you overlooked supporting condom use. Such as:

"Studies have shown condom use can lower the risk of acquiring HPV infection. … For these reasons, condoms should play an important part in any new or non-monogamous sexual relationship."

-American Social Health Association

"Can condoms protect me from HPV? Condoms do not give complete protection against HPV because they do not cover all genital skin. But with a new partner, condoms are useful to protect both of you from most other disease. Many people are shocked or upset when they find out they have HPV. But HPV does not have to mean a big change in your life. The most important step is to get help by talking with your health care provider, getting a yearly Pap test [sic], and taking care of yourself."

-American Social Health Association

or

"Condoms are … up to 99.9 percent effective in reducing the risk of disease transmission when combined with spermicide."

-Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States

or

"When used consistently and correctly, latex condoms are very effective in preventing a variety of diseases, including HIV infection. Multiple studies have demonstrated a strong protective effect of condom use. …"

-CDC

etc etc.... Oh, but here you go Paul, I also found an admission for you in the article:

"Even when used correctly, condoms aren’t perfect," CDC acknowledges, comparing them to other important safety enhancing behaviors like wearing seatbelts and bicycle helmets. "Imperfect as they are, condoms can significantly reduce the rates of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases."

Just wanted to let everyone know what the other 91% of the article said. But hell, what do I know... I'm not an expert in anything ::P:

I am scared shitless of my airbag. I saw what happened to a client once. She stopped quickly and lightly bumped a post sliding on ice. The airbag caused her face to bruise like she just had sex with Tyson. Ah who knows huh?

Dear fsuguy69,

You will have no difficulty finding statements (mainly quoting the CDC) that condoms work. What you will NOT find is any of the 130 odd studies on the subject that support those statements.

Find those and I will listen.

"The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, part of the National Institutes of Health, released the report compiled by the panel of 28 experts, who analyzed about 138 published studies on the use of condoms during penile-vaginal intercourse.

"There was a lack of evidence to help us make a definitive conclusion about the effectiveness of condoms," said panel member Dr. Timothy Schacker, an infectious disease expert at the University of Minnesota"

NOTE

Remember that the NIH is at the forefront of promoting condom use along with the CDC.

Actually Paul, I wasn't intending and don't intend to look up any articles or any type of research or study on condoms whether it be their effectiveness or if they will give me cancer. I was merely commenting on the article you yourself supplied.

Personally, I don't care if condoms could possibly give me cancer. Hell, so will the sun but I don't stay indoors. Driving could mangle me beyond recognition...the airbag alone could snap my neck and bruise my face. Second hand cigarette smoke will give me lung cancer, but I still go out clubbing and to bars.

What I can do is apply sunblock before sunbathing for the sun or move to the other side of the club. Likewise, for STD's I can put on a condom. Do any of those methods really work or do anything? Maybe so...maybe not... doesn't matter. But it does give me peace of mind and that is good enough for me.

But, that being said....there are always people out there who I guess care more about me and my wellbeing than myself. And on the issue of latex-induced cancer, that would be you. So thanks man! Good job looking out.

We always use condoms... No glove, no love. For STD reasons, the remote possibility of pregnancy (if the pill is used), and as I've posted before, I'm very funny about other guys cumming in my wife. I don't like playing in another man's cum. That's just my preference. And my wife feels it a little to intimate also to have another man cum in her. She says that's my territory only.

We had a good giggle over it this weekend though. We used condoms with a desensitizer with another couple, and after I had sex with the other woman I pulled-out and went down on her. Within a minute my lips and tongue were numb!

Lessons learned.

Same here...No condom, no sex

We always use condoms durring penitration with others for protection from STD's & an unwanted pregnancy(can't use the pill/patch/shot due to blood clots.)I make my husband pull out 90% of the time.

Even if this were a perfect world, I still wouldn't let anyone cum in my vagina, it feels gross.

17 million people in the USA have developed latex allergies in the last two decades? That's roughly one out of every 16 people, including every man, woman and child in the nation. Few allergies or medical conditions are that widespread. PaulKing, I'm going to have a lot of trouble accepting that figure unless you have a source to support it.

But, even if I were to humor you by accepting your claims...I'd rather have a latex allergy than an STD. Period.

Okay. I'm over 45 by at least six years. We haven't swung together yet but are in the process of discussing the "do's and dont's" so we don't wind up pissing each other off. You know, the communication thingy.

Before we met, I never used a condom and she did only rarely. Considering we are both military couples, I'm rather surprised neither of us ever caught any STD's. Me personally, it was a different "working girl" or several on my first tour in Korea. What the hell, bareback sex is the greatest. We have set one rule already, the first one. No sex without a condom. Though I will point out that "IF" we settled with one steady couple, I would like both of us to ride bareback. She says that when she feels me shoot my load it feels really great. Quite frankly, I agree.

Cheers.

Hmm, maybe than HIV but a latex allergy can be deadly whereas most STDs are not. I have a friend who cannot eat foods that were prepared by someone wearing latex gloves-means she can't eat out-ever, has to be extremely careful about what brands she buys etc. Can't go to the Doctor's office due to latex particles in the ventilation system. Is basically housebound since she can't control how environment anywhere else.

We couldn't have said this better!!

Personally, we feel that anyone who does oral on a guy without a rubber or a woman without everything covered in plastic wrap but insists on a rubber for penetration are only fooling themselves. If anyone does have anything you don't want to catch, guess what, you just caught it from the oral!!

Please don't flamethrow us for this. This is OUR opinion.

Yes, from what I've read on these posts, the risk is less from oral but it is still a risk.

The pregnancy issue for those women who can't take the pill, etc? That's fine, except rubbers do break.

Yes, everyone has their own views on this issue and this is ours. Besides, I (Mr. LCJTSD) just loves watching another guy explode in my wife and, yes, it does feel different with another mans cum in there. I feels wonderful!!!

Let's be honest here.

Is going bareback a more pleasurable experience? Yo betcha! Is it always the best idea? Hardly.

I'm not going to lie... we go au natural from time to time with another two couples we've known for quite a while and that we trust. It helps that all the men have also been "snipped" as well.

Do we like going without condoms? Hell yeah! Personally, what I like the best and watching the other guy's face grimace and seeing him thrust as he ejaculates into my wife, especially watching that look of sublime pleasure on her face has she feels his semen flowing into her vagina. I think I find it so fun because when I orgasm, I usually have my eyes closed, and I miss that look on her face.

There's also something else incredibly erotic about the afterglow afterwards, just hanging out and relaxing, knowing that his cum is deep inside of her while my cum is deep inside of his wife. This usually results in everybody getting naked again and making love to our own spouses, depositing another load of cum into her.

But this is not an everyday... or even every month occurrence. We go bareback on special occasions with very select people. With everybody else, we use a condom for intercourse. Because there are some pretty funky diseases out there.

I am at the mature end of the swinging demographic as are my play friends. The ladies have their share of curves and character lines and often prefer to wear something when younger, fitter ladies prefer total nudity. This is just to say clothing is totally OK if it makes you comfortable. This is not a photo shoot. This is intimacy and mutual giving. Besides, a little color and texture is nice to see and feel. When I know my partner is shy I can adjust and just observe that as a boundary.

Ok so this may be a bit taboo and yes there are plenty of issues that come with this… but our conversation (and fantasies) revolve around swapping and sex in this fashion.

It might sound silly but is this frowned upon in swinger circles? Would we be blacklisted or is there a place for this?

We wouldn’t be sleeping around and maybe hope to find a regular couple or 2 to have this fun with, but as a general rule what’s the community’s approach to those coming in and looking to have bareback sex?

      When will you stop swinging?

I see lots of swingers well into their sixties but I'm not so sure that I want to swing that long. I wonder when people stop swinging due to age is it because they are having physical difficulties or do they just start to feel too unattractive? Do we have anyone in their sixties or seventies on this board that can provide first-hand impressions?
