Has there been, or are there, parties that other swingers go bareback? If so, is anyone opposed to it, or is it they would like to join one?

Just wondering? Or does everyone use condoms all the time?

We use condoms all the time... no matter what fun it may be, it's not worth taking the risk. Besides, neither me or hubby has been fixed yet.

Hi Wisconsinswing,

We always insist condoms be used. My hubby will always wear one when with other women and it is a must that the other man use one as well. We were at a private party once and one of the women didn't care if the men used condoms or not. Needless to say, the men who did her didn't use protection so they were not getting near me because they weren't going to use condoms. My husband and I have that condoms are a MUST as one of our ground rules when playing. We will not risk our health for a night of fun--it's just not worth it.

Weigh up the odds Mrs Freeway. A moment of pleasure for a lifetime of pain. There can be no question!

It depends a lot on the group of people. Even at a club that encourages condom use you will probably find a few other couples that are open to bareback. Some areas of the country seem to be much more ok with bareback swinging than others as well.

I feel alot of people won't say they go bareback for a multitude of reasons. I've seen discussions on here where the people reply that they always use condoms. Then I've been to parties where a majority of people were not using them. Condom Use Link Maybe people on the net say they use protection to fit the perceived accepted norm. Then maybe I am wrong, which does happen a couple of times a day.

Could it be like when were young and our parents had the "talk" with us, but when it got down to it we didn't care? And I am talking about a male point of view.

Makes you wonder who is doing who and how.

I've said it before, "You are probably only 1 or 2 persons away from having sex with me." Which roughly translated means if you don't want to have sex with me, you probably will have sex with someone I have or one more person removed from that person. Small world. And did we all use condoms? :surrend:

When we first got started in the lifestyle (not long ago) I asked a few people about that. I was told that alot of people that go to the Dance that we attend DO NOT use condoms. Now keep in mind this is a group of people that get together pretty much once a month to play and don't do much playing otherwise. I guess if you feel safe all is good, but I would rather feel safe than sorry down the road. Hubby finds it hard to have an "O" while having his tool incased in a TIGHT rain coat, and I have to say it REALLY does feel better without. For now until we find a couple that we feel good and safe with we will deal with the rain coat.

We go to the clubs quite often (2 or 3 times a month on average) and in our experience somewhat less than half of the people use condoms regularly. We have found that their is three types of people;

1 - Those that insist on condoms all the time.

2 - Those that will use them if requested.

3 - Those that won't play if someone requests they use condoms.

The Biggest group is number 2, then no 1, and finally group number three is much smaller (I only know 3 or four people in this group). What is interesting to me is that I noticed that there are hardly any long time swingers in group number one and all the people we know in group number three have been swinging for 10 years or more.

From this post no one would probably ever guess that we often analyze things to death. :D

It is much easier to give the right answer to this question while sitting in front of your pc. We've been "swinging" for a while and under many different circumstances. We started out with my best friend joining in and he never wore a condom while doing my wife and it was never an issue or talked about. We were all in such a state of ecstasy that, though, safety should have been an issue the moment was overwhelming.

When we're out at clubs it is a must, but if my wife really likes the guy, she’ll sometimes finish him off with her mouth without a condom and she is very bi she loves giving and receiving oral from women, of course nothing in between lips and lips. When we meet with couples and feel comfortable with them it becomes more like a mutual thing, but I must say that 8 out of 10 times we’ll go bareback. Yes, yes.... we know is reckless behavior but the way we rationalize it; most of the couples in this lifestyle are successful, educated, honest with each other and the male is hetero, at least in our circle. Also, due to the fact of the arrangement, it is very unlikely that he’ll stray and engage in a more risky behavior i.e. prostitution and such. And, perhaps it is true what Julie said, some parts of the country are different. South Florida (Miami/Ft. Lauderdale) is very open and easy going. Just my real answer.

thanks,

I don't think it's reckless at all if you have gotten to know the couple. You hear it said that when you screw one you have screwed everyone they have been with. OK. So are they infected now or have they ever even had an STD? Overwhelmingly the answer is no. That means they have been with some pretty ok folks.

I think I know why the guys don't come. They are all wearing hats! Which may be another reason that oral is so popular-No barrier. Why does the woman never use protection with the other lady? That lady has just been (at the VERY least) with the man you will be fucking. You trust her and not him? I don't get it.

There are some very interesting observations in this thread. We are inclined to agree with Biloxi Couple. While most swingers will say in public (or online) that they always insist on condom use, few swingers actually seem to do so at clubs, parties or private meetings (at least the ones we've attended, which may be regional as Julie suggested). It's "politically correct" to advocate condom use, but it seems like there is a silent majority among us who will go bareback at least occasionally.

We have also noticed a pattern similar to what Good Times has noticed. A lot of newbies will start out insisting on condoms, but will relax that rule as they become more experienced and lose some of their initial fear of potential STDs (assuming they stay in the lifestyle for a few years). Also, many older swingers will start losing the condoms once they lose their fear of possible pregnancy.

That's sums up our take on the issue. We used to insist on condoms all the time but now if it is with people we feel we know well and trust then we don't, as long as there is no risk of pregnancy. We certainly don't feel inclined to go bareback with people the first time we play!

I also find it difficult to get where I'm going with a condom on, so that does have some bearing on things.

Since I'm in the prime of my fertility, I will use a condom regardless who my partner is (except for hubby... we pull & pray  ).

I think if we met a couple we were close to, we may consider going bareback- if pregnancy wasn't an issue. But we'd have to feel confident they weren't swinging sluts and were cautious with their choice of partners.

We're still so young that our greatest fear would be AIDS. I could deal with most anything else. But not with a virus that comes with a death certificate.

I would always wear a sheath, unless its only with my wife. As I'm vas-safe, it would be entirely to protect my better half from "uninvited guests".

Seeing as we're really new, can't really say we've hit a point where I'd have to make that choice, though

We're not really NEW anymore, but I can say that we truly do insist on condoms when we play. It's not that we're really worried about pregnancy, so much as we still have STD fears. I guess, as we get older and those in our peer group are soccer moms and more settled in, we may change our minds. Actually, we've considered it with one couple, but haven't had an opportunity to play with them since we've discussed it and we don't know how they'd feel about it. I absolutely abhor condoms (the smell, the taste  ), but right now, I'd hate to contract a disease worse than I hate rubbers.

Ok so this may be a bit taboo and yes there are plenty of issues that come with this… but our conversation (and fantasies) revolve around swapping and sex in this fashion.

It might sound silly but is this frowned upon in swinger circles? Would we be blacklisted or is there a place for this?

We wouldn’t be sleeping around and maybe hope to find a regular couple or 2 to have this fun with, but as a general rule what’s the community’s approach to those coming in and looking to have bareback sex?

Met a single guy for a date recently. I really liked him. We started to play a little and when I touched his cock I felt a small scab on the shaft and a bump just at the base --not on the penis but like in the area around the base.

I know I should've asked him about it then but I didn't. I diverted the session back into a heavy make out with no other play.

I ask my husband's advice about it upon returning home and he offered up several explanations of what it could be- a mole (he had one removed from that area after all), razor burn irritation, an ingrown hair. The scabbed area on his cock he said could be from jerking off too much/too hard- he admitted to getting those sometimes in his single days when all he had was his hand.

I am not trying to make excuses for him but just really trying to look at both sides. It could be HPV or herpes (I dont think so though-- the bump was rather large for herpes I think--and not clustered). I'm more concerned about HPV but I wouldn't say the area was flat either- it felt like a raised bump- like how an ingrown hair or mole might feel.

It doesn't make sense to me that he'd expose his cock to me with a raging infection of some sort but obviously, I'm not about to take that chance. He also offered zero explanation for it at the time which makes me wonder. I also did not ask him about it though.

Since we were in a parked car, I did not see it at all. I only felt it long enough for my hand to glide down the shaft of his cock.

I'm scared to offend him. I know I need to bring it up to him (I will not play with him without answers) and I know he deserves the chance to explain it to me. After all, it may be completely harmless but I know it's my right to ask these questions and get answers.

Such a sensitive topic. I know that being direct and honest is the best way to deal with this but thought I'd ask others advice before bringing it up to him.

So guys, how would you like to be approached in this situation?

Ladies, have you found yourself in a similar situation? What a did you do?

I thought about sending him an email - I realize that's somewhat of a cop out but that way it gives me time to write out what I want and then gives him time to process it and decide how to respond.

Advice? Comments? Suggestions? All are appreciated.

      Hey guys,

We're new to this whole swinging thing and haven't gotten started yet. The one thing that really bugs me is safety! Obviously condoms for intercourse are a given.

I read an article the other day about how rampant mouth/throat cancer has become because of HPV transmitted through oral sex.

Oral sex with condoms is just about worse than no oral sex at all!

Don't know what to do... how do you all handle safety?!

      Thanks!

We are 40-somethings, less than six months into the lifestyle. But we've played plenty in that time. Met a couple a a party last weekend. 50-somethings, and plenty experienced. We got to talking and touching in the pool. While Mrs. DontStop and the male continued pool play, I led the female upstairs. Since it was obvious from the underwater action she was ready to mount me right there, I told as we headed up that we play safe. She said ok, but her husband didn't have any condoms.

We played upstairs and later they joined us. After some time he was ready to mount Mrs and we stopped him and said "You gotta wrap it first."

He didn't say much after that, and within in a few minutes he said he was taking a break and left the room, and us in a FMF situation.

Did we fail here, not expressing safe play to him ahead of time?
