Mr. Sun brought to my attention that SLS recently released an app for their services. I finally downloaded it and it looks useable. Anyway, I was wondering what everyone else thought about the app and if anyone knew what the numbers and blue/red circles meant next to your friends names on the friends list.

We still have the old one as well, I hope the new one is much better! Can't seem to find the new one, can you point us in the right direction?

Thanks, that explains it. We'll be looking for it.

On their website now:

SLS Mobile App Preview

Apple and Android APPs are now available.

IOS is version 1 which has a few minor issues. Those issues were corrected and are awaiting approval with Apple.

As a paid member of SLS, we invite you to be one of the first to download and try it out.

This is only the beginning of what we have planned for the app.

Looks like blue/red is a couple, solid red a single female, solid blue a single male.

I thought that might be the case but one of the couples we know has a red circle. I'll have to check the profile in detail to see if their status has changed!

I'm seeing emails on the app that don't show up on the website. Weird. Potentially more proof to the theory that some emails disappear into the ether on sls.

I downloaded the app this morning, but it has never made it beyond "loading".

Outstanding! Just found the app for my iPhone and can't wait to begin playing with it. At first sight, it's way better than their mobile web version...

Well, actually, there is no older app. I used the wrong word. As another person pointed out, it is a "mobile Web version".

The app is quite nice for being able to add pics directly from your phone... and since we take 90% of our pics with our phones these days that makes life just a little bit easier.

One little thing about uploading pics directly from your phone. If you don't want people to know where you are make sure to have "geo-tagging" off.

OK, all this talk if an app influenced me so I downloaded it. But it does have a rather odd feature. Using it, I can see the profiles of all the people who have blocked us.

LMAO! Does it tell you they blocked you?

No. This was discovered by using the app to read old "sent" messages. I spotted a message from which I was able to link to the profile. I was thinking, "hey, this is great; they've unblocked us." But when I tried to view the same profile using the regular site, I was not able to view -- still blocked.

So I dig down some more into sent messages. Found one more "blocked" profile that I was able to view. I have not yet been brave enough to use the app to try to send a message to a profile that had blocked us. But it appears as if I could.

I wonder if they'd see them without using the app. I've been having an email conversation via the app with a couple where the mails don't even show up on the main site.

I'll say this for them, on the app page they respond to every negative review with what they've done to fix the issue. Not many developers do that

My favorite response to a negative review though was "We welcome constructive criticism. This is not constructive".

An App Store update is waiting for me for version 1.1 of the SLS app. When I click the "What's New", the list of changes and "fixes" is as long as my arm (not my short arm; my right arm).

One very intriguing new addition is identified as "phase I of location services". I wonder what that's all about. I guess I'll just have to screw up my courage, as Aaron Thomas Gerber said, and give it a try. I'll let y'all know.

Well, I tried. Nothing to write home about. But on the other hand, seem harmless (I do not expect the FBI to show up at our door). Looks like when I take my mobile device with me (who'd have thought) my hot-date searches will center on my GPS location. Still, knowing there are 6,213 hot dates within fifty miles and six months seems a little overwhelming.

There have been other improvements. I can no longer "see" the profiles of people who have blocked our profile or whose profiles we have blocked. There is a little more profile information that will be visible. Looks like we will be able to take a picture with the phone and post it straight to our own profile.

On the profile note... I've noticed a lot of ads focused on finding people to DATE, lately. I've found this odd but at the same time kind of understand wanting to make sure potential matches are open to swinging if it's something important to you...

What do you all think? Is SLS an appropriate place to be searching for a significant other or should it be strictly focused on finding casual sex partners/FWB?

Hi All. We are on a few swingers sites (SLS, Kasidie), and have had some luck. We were wondering of there was a phone app that anyone has used that may have connected them with other like-minded couples...or if we are REALLY lucky...a single bi fem.

Perhaps there are some couples who are a little nervous to go on Swinger sites and decide to try one of the location-based apps to find others around them that want to get naked with others...or maybe someone needs to develop it

People have been showing at Facebook as "we think you might know this person" and I recognize them. But not from Facebook or high-school or anything. They are creatures who have sent my wife or myself messages using SLS. Some being people whom we have completely ignored and to whom we have never replied.

Have any of you noticed anything similar. Have SLS made a pact with The Devil?

Are there any recommendations for a mobile app I should try? An app designed for swingers to meet and bomp bomp bomp if you hadn't already assumed.

Here is my rant and it very well may get me kicked out of sls. I think sls discriminates a lot towards single men. I went to fill out a personal ad and they kick back to me that it is required for single men to become paying members within 30 days and that they only allow a few select men into the site. So I went and logged in as a single female, guess what? It did not pertain to them that they had to become a paid member within 30 days and that only a select few single females were allowed in.

What is it? Men are not considered swingers if they are not married? I think it is because a lot of these groups that calls themselves swinger groups consider single men predators without even getting to know the man. Men are men if they are married, attached, single, or whatever you want to classify men by. Personalities are different in each and every person rather they are married or what, female or male. I would suggest a name change of the group to something like Couples Only Swing Group. Then there would not be an argument from me here!!

Get real people; get to know the people before you discriminate against them!!! I do not go through life intentionally discriminating against others and in turn I do not like to be discriminated against!!! I have read numerous posts on this site already how people flake out on meetings, my answer to them that are complaining about this is no wonder they flake out if they support discrimination, you do not meet their standards!!
