Should a swingers club have a hot tub and/or pool?

Recommended Posts

Is this a major health problem? Do you need extra steps when it comes to cleaning? Should there be special rules around the pool? Would you even want to get into it?

We've been to swinger clubs that had a pool or hot tub, and yes, we got in it. Others may hold a different opinion. To us, it's no different than any other public venue, whether it be the community pool or a hotel hot tub, you are depending on someone to operate it correctly. Depending on local codes too, they may or may not be regularly inspected by the local health department.

I've always looked at it as the more financial liability there is for the owner, the more incentive they have to do things right. That may be a false sense of security, and no way to tell if water is safe just by looking at it of course, but at any public venue I still take a general look around to see if overall things look well-maintained or not before I decide to get in. Shortcuts in one area are a good sign of shortcuts in another.

DJs Island north of Pittsburgh has a great hot tub. We've used it many times. It's clean, and a lot of fun.

The core issue is how it is maintained. You are quite correct that warm water plus any sort of nutrient will grow microorganisms. There are maintenance procedures that are quite effective provided management follows them. We have a "home" hot tub that uses bromine as the antiseptic; provided the bromine levels are maintained and the pH is maintained and that there is regular use of an oxidizing ("shock") agent, risks are minimal.

It is fair to ask who maintains the hot tub, how it is maintained and so on. A general use "busy" hot tub should typically be checked twice daily. A home hot tub may be checked weekly if not used.

I would imagine they would have some rules to keep it sanitary. We had an LS club close to us that had a jacuzzi and a swimming pool (I believe it was Deenise Hideaway), but they closed down last year. The only one that we know off that is still around is the Rooftop. I don't think either place would let you have sex in them.

Give them a call and ask them what measures do they take Rooftop Resort - South Florida's #1 Swinger's Nudist Hotel

HEDO II in Jamaica has a huge pool and hot tub. They clean it regularity. Never heard of any issues, and there have been thousands of people through there.

We have seen all kinds of activities going on in Rooftop's pool. Even walking around the pool made us both thankful we don't eat with our feet. Cleanliness or an apparent lack thereof is why we've never gone back. On the other hand, we have had wonderful times in the hot tub at DJ's, the one at TPA and the biggest and best we've ever seen in a swingers club, TJ's near Harrisburg. All three of those places are well kept and seemingly very clean. Still, it only takes one guy with a bad case of athletes foot or a sufficient lack of self control to make egg drop soup to ruin your evening.

LOL

Never been to the rooftop. I guess because of what you just said, we have heard it in the past from others as well. They also said it's like a sausage fest, but with arrogant creeps.

We had a hot tub. They are some work to maintain, especially the chemical balance, actually more work in that respect than a larger pool. The much larger size of the pool makes it more stable chemically, not so changeable day to day. On the good side, it’s a great excuse for getting naked and getting in and acquainted with friends and getting to know another side of one another, which can be a lead in to lifestyle play, but not always.

Both. A swinger club should have a hot tub and a pool and showers for people to wash themselves before and after using them.

We always joke that to qualify as a swinger you need to have either a hot tub or a boat (we have a hot tub). Clubs, to qualify as a club usually can't have a boat. They do need showers to wash off with and well maintained equipment (not just a well maintained hot tub).

Yes, true. And as to the shower to which Brimba alludes, DJ's Island Very Private Club requires users to soap-up and shower before and after a dip in the tub. No evidence of anything that resembles egg-drop soup.
