Swinger Business Cards?

Recommended Posts

I just saw it mentioned in another thread. But are swinger business cards a thing? Certainly would be easy/cheap enough to have them made, but with cell phones just seems easier to trade numbers/emails directly.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I just write a note on a napkin. It is more personal and less 'professional'. And I'll leave a some lipstick from a kiss on it. I know it's old fashioned, but I like it.

They are indispensable on a lifestyle cruise. You meet a couple at breakfast or coffee, you would like to get together later in the week and you can just hand them a card with your cabin number and whatever else you want, email, SLS name, etc. Easier and quicker than playing with cell phone contact exchanges. We put a G rated picture of us on it so they remember who we are.

We use them, have both of our names on one side and an email that we use just for swinging. The other side says, we’re on the dance floor, please do not sit here or remove my drink, we have them cut so we can hang them on our drinks at the bar to save our place, and our drinks from being dumped.

WOW! That's impressive. Can I ask for a link where you ordered them from? For my practice I order from VistaPrint but I never saw any option for different shaped or "cuts" in cards.

Thanks!!

We met a couple once who gave us a card that read:

Yes, they're a 'thing'!

Many clubs don't permit mobile phones because of the risk of unwanted photos. Cards are an easy way to make and keep contact with new friends.

I know Vista Print requires I think 250 or 500 cards...Maybe we should see if the lifestyle swallows us up before pulling the trigger on such a thing?

Also, if they're a thing.... what is standard info to put on them? Are last names exchanged in the lifestyle? Or just first names and a phone number/email?

Thanks!

We use real first names Last name waits until the comfort level is there. That is just about the time they get invited to our Grand Central type house where they are certain to meet family and church friends. That level takes a while.

We print them on our home printer. Staples sells business cards that you can run through your printer.

Call me paranoid, but I would not leave a drink unattended and return to them. People put roofies in them.

That sounds about right on the price. But like I said, until we know that we're accepted within the culture and that we enjoy it, I'd rather hold off on ordering a batch. Thanks for the info.

We print our own. They have a pic of us, our first names, and our SLS handle. On a cruise or at a hotel takeover, we will write the room number on the back. Occasionally, we will write a phone number if we have a real connection.

This is true. The cards are Avery 8376. Both Microsoft Word and Open Office Write have built-in templates for designing your own cards.

Business cards are odd. I have had cards in the Vanilla world circle back to me after years.

Those cards you are waiting for until "after" might very well work as tools towards your ends.

We only hand out two-three a party. Most go to folks in whom we have an interest but there has not been time to get to know. Cycle back time is anywhere from the next day to a few months.

It avoid the "Who was that couple? ..... I can't recall Hon. " Syndrome

Given all of the other investments, a few bucks for nice looking cards seems reasonable. We have our (real) first names, our SLS handle, our LS email address, and so on. We think some G rated pics are appropriate, but as others point out cards can circulate eventually into the vanilla world so there is some small --but non-zero--risk that they could fall into the hands of someone who might eventually identify you. We assume that others in the LS are discreet as well.

The simple fact is that in an LS environment such as a cruise, a house party, a meet-and-greet, you will encounter couples you might like to see again. Giving them a 'social card' sends the message that you might indeed look forward to seeing them again, and lets them make the decision of whether to call.

We make a point of reaching back to everyone who has given us a card, even if only to say "good luck on the journey". Sometimes our response is "Look forward to seeing you again...please let us know if you'd like that too...". The response is not always affirmative, of course. But sometimes it is...

Now do we want to have them ready for a first event? If so, I can have my secretary print some out.

Thanks!

I got your message, I'm just not allowed to respond yet (site rules).

Thanks for the info!

At our club, we leave cards at the bar and front desk with pens. The front is our logo, the back says "We met at..." with space to jot names/numbers. I've seen ppl use these to save their drink while they are on the dance floor (just put a little rip in the card and slip it over the rim of the drink). As a BarBack who picks up empties, this is really helpful to the staff!

My secretary has a multitude of card stock colors to choose from. But we went over the layout and it should be pretty easy with good results.

Do the majority of these cards have the couple's face on them or just first names and an email?

Thanks!

The cards we use are typical. They have us pictured together, our first names, an SLS screen name, and an SZC screen name. If dropped accidentally on the floor of the community center, it is very unlikely that even a nosy person would be able to put two and two together to make four (pun intended). This scheme is also supported by the fact that our screen names do not contain any kind of salacious implications.

We have received cards in the past, and ran across them a month or so later, just to scratch our heads trying to remember who was who. This is the reason for putting our pic on the card. "Oh Yeah! I remember them!"

Here are ours. We use them in general with other LS Couples, to flirt with singles, and of course on the LS cruises.

I like how you structured the front. So it's common to make an email solely for the purpose of swinging communication? I'll have to do that. I already have a google phone for my practice and I really would HATE to get those two mixed up in terms of receiving calls.
