What's the protocol for paying?

Recommended Posts

Hey. The wife and have met a guy a couple weeks ago that she really likes. We met him thru a site and set up a meet at a local strip club. We all really hit it off and the wife really likes the guy. At the end of the night he walked to our car with us and the wife gave him a blowjob and he ate her out and fingered her and had a good time. We are trying to set up another date to maybe take things farther but we all have a little issue. We can't host at our house because of kids and he can't host because of his roommates. My wife doesn't just want to fuck him in the car because she wants both of us playing with her and it's kind of hard in the backseat of a car. What would you do? If we meet up again and neither can host should someone offer to get a room and who pays for it? Does the couple pay? The guy? Or do you split it?

Hotel room, if it is a threesome, split it three way. If he wishes to pay all of it - don't argue, but don't ask him to pay - it may be treated as payment for a fuck or simply whoring.

I insist that we split the cost of a NICE hotel room (Hampton, Hilton Garden Inn, HI Express at least). No cheapie room, Clarion or Motel 6 or the like. Even though we're planning on enjoying Mrs Docs inner slut, she is an upscale and classy woman and should be surrounded by cleanliness and luxury.red dress 1.jpg

Get a room and you foot the bill

The guy is going to be a guest IN my wife, shouldn't he at least share the cost of the venue??

Your wife and you are inviting him IN. Your pleasure is as much as his. Split it three way, same as the event. If you can afford it, pay full and feel like a royal couple.

If we extended the invite, then we would pay for the room. If it is sort of a mutual "let's get together" then I guess we would use words to resolve if we did not feel up to funding it ourselves.

If it was me being invited in I would most assuredly offer to pay, but that is just me.

Why not just come out and ask? You already agreed to share your wife.

The logistics of this can be more difficult than first imagined. Who hands over the cash?

Who signs for the room? That's who gets to stay for the night if there is any staying for the night.

With kids, I would imagine you might want to go home afterward or you'll be arranging for an all night babysitter. How much does that cost?

What about arranging drinks and a light dinner before hand. Pick up the cost of dinner and ask him to get the room. Probably around $100 each give or take. That way no one is handing the other any money. That could just feel awkward.

Well thought out. So here's an idea. Get the hotel closest to you. Invite him home for early dinner and drinks. Get to know him. Get the kid to sleep. Walk over with him to the hotel. Do your stuff and return home. If you have booked, your credit card is with the hotel, so he must check out with you. If he wants a repeat, the next one is on him.

I would never involve a child in swinging in any form. Children should be protected, not exposed.

Completely agree, no questions about that. Not only a child, any family member or anyone who is not involved in that activity.

If it were me, I would do the same thing I'd do if I were going on a date and as a guy, that means just pay for everything. Talking about money isn't the best topic that leads to hot sex and by paying, the topic of money never arises. On the plus side, if you are paying, and you aren't sure you want to continue at any point, your decision won't be mitigated by any money you asked him to spend.

Maybe yes, maybe no. Ideally, he would offer to foot the bill for the room, but unless the cost is a real concern, talking about money is just awkward (at least for me), especially if I am doing the inviting. I'd rather just decide on whether or not to do something based on whether or not it's worth me picking up the tab. If there is anything that's as awkward as talking about who fucks whom, when and how with people you don't know, it's talking about who pays for what.

Applying this situation to myself, I'd certainly be willing to pay for the room. In the past, in a similar situation, it went longer term, so it was "I'll get this one, you can get the next time". Sounds like you are on your way to have a good time.

We feel that the person/couple that invites the other(s) should be responsible for booking and paying for the room. The others should pay for any pre dinner/drinks or at least bring drinks to the room for the event. No $ changes hands and it all works.

If we're hosting we'll book an hotel room and buy our own drinks for the hotel room, we often tell other people just to bring their own drinks.

If someone else is hosting and ask us to go halves or whatever then that's fine.

We're not concerned about costs, we're not rich or anything we're just very comfortable. We've wined and dined at lots of hotels over the years. Before we had our two children we were always using expensive hotels - until we had children so we couldn't afford the plush stuff anymore so we've since just used semi-cheap hotels these days.

I don’t think its ever come up for us. Some of our play has been with guys we meet at a resort bar where we are staying and we and usually they both have rooms. Also, we lived in a large city with lots of conventioneers and businessmen with hotel rooms. We drink in the bars, they chat with us and we all end up in their hotel room. However, I am sure hubby would pay the price of a hotel room to see me indulge.

Alex and Sandra, good points.

But I wonder why you're so concerned about giving out your email address or other typical information to a hotel chain. Renting a hotel room is a legal business transaction. And what you do in that hotel room is nobody's business, and won't show up in the hotel's records . . .

We usually are in the position where one couple or both are spending the night, so the rooms are handled. If both couples spend the night then it is just your room or ours, or both?

I do find it enlightening when it comes to dinner and bar tabs. I always leave it to the other couple to suggest how things are divied up. Two checks? One check with 5 minutes of accounting? Rough guess as to each tab and then add a bit for safety Plus a tip? You can tell much about people.

The couples that have been keepers have always been unworried about exact accounting. They have been more into the social end of even dinner and drinks. We also like to maintain an approximate equivalency in financial matters trying to keep our end in surplus.

With one couple it has developed into a friendly contest. The first to arrive sets up a bar tab. Each keeps arriving a bit earlier (G).

Be careful. You might spread some misconceptions about the lifestyle to those uninitiated. I would hate to hear they think bad of us, spreading rumors that we drink from morning until evening and other unsavory stories.

I realize you are pulling my chain a bit, but the point is valid.

Just for the record and the enlightenment of the uninitiated : We NEVER play while inebriated. That would be a bad idea.

We stick to pre-dinner drinks. It is a rare occasion that we even have alcohol in the room. That is usually at hotel parties for a little libation before venturing out.

Yeah I was just messing with you regarding people's misconceptions in general about the lifestyle and then adding that they are heavy drinkers. The funny thing was we ended up in our first round of playing completely sober. I can say when you get in a room with two new people for sex its a bit more complicated the driving a car down the road.

Many couples insist that single guys pony up for a room.

We get a little paranoid about about being filmed without our consent so we typically control the room. As a trade off the guy picks up the check for dinner or drinks.

That way we know the room is comfortable and clean and ours if we decide to stay the night.

A comment on the thread/poll about same vs. separate rooms reminded me of a question that's been on my mind--in your experience, what tends to happen when one pair finishes having sex in same-room play? Does the other pair feel pressure to finish up?

Edited to add: Yeah, I know someone's always going to finish first, barring wild coincidences. But I couldn't think of a better way to put it.

In your experience with swinging, either being the guy yourself, or the woman experiencing it, when does the guy normally cum? Do you have the woman perform oral and cum through there so you last longer for sex? Do you let the woman get you started with oral but only cum during sex? Or do you skip oral completely and just cum through sex. Normally we cum through sex, but sometimes the girl is really good at oral so I (male) don't know to make her stop or let it go...Just curious what the rest of you do in a similar situation.

I was talking to a friend here about an experience we had with a single male some time ago. It was a first "play" situation and we were clear that condoms were expected.

The guy turned out to be fairly well endowed; the kind of gear that requires the larger size wrapper. When "condom time" arrived he pulled out one of the cheap thick skinned, average size condoms that you might buy in a truck stop bathroom.

Needless to say - it didn't fit.

He couldn't put it on and maintain his erection.

This led to him asking (in a mock casual voice) if we ever play without.

      End play date.

It struck me as a bit odd that a guy who said he had a lot of experience seemed to have no clue what condom size he needed. Was it a ploy to go without? Did he really buy one at the last minute when he knew ahead of time that there would be play? Did he simply have no experience with "safe sex"?

I actually use condoms that would have worked and did have mine with me, but the whole thing felt wrong to me. So - I let him flounder and leave. After all, I don't use condoms with Mrs Spoo and couldn't have been expected to provide them. I didn't feel very benevolent.

I have had men right before play come to me and ask if I had one. Spur of the moment situations can leave anyone in a bind. I have no problem with that and do carry extra just in case that happens. But this wasn't a "spur of the moment" kind of thing.

Mrs Spoo was upset as well and was glad I didn't offer one of mine.

What would you have done? And do you know what condom size works for you? How long did it take you to figure that out?

So the other day we were playing with a very good single male friend of ours... We had just gotten finished with "round 2" when I walked around the bed...

There - lying like a newly shed snake skin, still wet in the sun, was something that obviously wasn't mine...

"Ummm, I hate to be accusatory, but is this your USED condom?" It was a bit of a rhetorical question - after all, I don't use them with my wife and my wife doesn't need them since she doesn't have a weiner of her own...

"Well, technically, it isn't 'USED'" was the smart ass response...

"What do you mean it isn't 'technically USED'?"

      "Well - I didn't finish with it..."

"Well..." somewhat speechless, "I'm still not picking it up..."

Now, to put this in perspective, this is a really good friend and we pick at each other quite a bit. Being the gentleman that he is, he picked up his condom and disposed of it.

My question is - when in the hell is a condom USED?

I am thinking if it has been wrapped around schlong, it is a goner... It's not "almost new" or "like new" or "gently experienced" - it's USED...

To be honest, now that I think about it, I am squeamish enough to say that if another guy brings a condom, pulls it out of the wrapper and hands it to me - I don't want it... It's USED enough even then...

      What do you think?
