420 question...

Recommended Posts

How would you feel about a profile that says 420 friendly? (Looking for those that are ok, and against it)

Reason we are asking, we are a 420 friendly couple that enjoys it every now and then. We also find it to be mind blowing during sex with another couple. We don't want to post it in our profile because it's not a requirement, but we will give preference to those who are. But at the same time don't want to lose potential playmates that may think otherwise.

In my industry (construction) with drug and alcohol tests being the norm, I personally am very against it. I find it rather abhorrent, hate the smell, hate the dumb, hate the culture. That being said, my wife has recently starting enjoying her special vaper machine and she gets rather horny when she’s stoned. I tend to find it kind of gross no matter the scenario, but she loves it and it sort of accentuates some our our LS activities. She gets ripped and rarin’ To go; and I’m always ready anyways so sometimes she does her little thing and we go seperate ways.

With the legalization of it, it’s going to be much more prevelant in the future and that isn’t a bad thing. Everybody has their poison of choice, and maybe a tag of “420 acceptable” might be more your speed?

I think if it is legal in your area and you like to use it during sex, it should be in the ad. If it isn't legal, leave it out of the ad but mention it in the first reply. We found we can't assume people will be cool with it.

I've seen it mentioned in several profiles before. For us, it's not really a pro or con so we tend to pretty much ignore it. If it was heavily emphasized, then it would become a negative just like anything that is overdone in a profile.

We actually have multiple profiles, one long detailed serious profile aimed at the upscale crowd. The other directly aimed at 420/party folks.

We get 10x more emails from our 3 line party profile.

Basically all it says is "she is hot, he is hung, let's get stoned and fuck" with a few faceless x-rated pics of us.

Would not turn us away. And I strongly suspect that most people are not burdened by the belief that people who use 420 are drug-crazed fiends who cannot function without it.

Our attitudes have evolved in the last decade. We used to totally avoid people who listed themselves as 420 friendly and once even left an otherwise very nice house party when the host broke out a bong and a bag of probably primo weed. Over the years, we've become much less opposed to being around it and even partaking occasionally. Mrs Doc really does not like the smell (I don't either, truth be told) but the buzz of the stuff available now is often amazing and we've found that it really does somewhat enhance the swinging experience. I guess we could be listed as 420 accepting.

Thank you all for your responses.

I have to admit we never expected to ever partake in the LS with it, and like some have said it's amazing how open it is in the LS.

I also agree that it does stink, but with the last couple we were introduced to wax via a small electric pen, and it didn't stink (it was also very powerful).

Previously to jumping in the LS, it was just a holiday thing for us maybe 3 to 4 times a year.

Also liked the "420 acceptable" instead of friendly. Thank you for that.

I'd wonder why they are advertising it. I smoke but on or offline it's not something I go around telling people about. I've been surprised at the attitude from couples when it comes to cannibus actually.

One couple I was literally making weekend plans with did a 180 after I asked if they smoked.

Several couples we know are like us, they don't drink at all, but will take a few tokes when playing. Seems with swingers in our area, smoking cigarettes is more taboo than smoking pot. We prefer edibles or vaping it.

The right pot can really enhance sex, as alcohol can ruin it. It is legal for recreational use in my state.

I mention it because some people do, and for those that avoid those of us that do they know. I don't always use, but nice to have the option. Along the same lines I want nothing to do with cigarette smokers. I had someone email that had been smoking for 42 years but didn't need to when around me. Thanks for letting me know, but no thanks. I also avoid heavy drinkers.

420 friendly, that's a good but very complicated question....

I actually smoked weed fairly heavily for over 20 years of my life.

I first tried Cannabis in my young teenage years at school and found it to be extremely enjoyable, in fact I loved the strong taste, loved the high, viewed it as been much safer than alcohol, loved the relaxation it provided, in fact I'd say Cannabis is an awesome plant, its by far one of the most natural and most tested drugs on the planet and it tuck me 20 years before I kicked the habit and stopped smoking for good.

Needless to say most of my friends through my teenage years also smoked Cannabis, that as the old saying goes "Birds of a feather flock together" meaning the vast majority of my friends were "Stoners" and we spent a lot of our young lives stoned / playing games / drinking / partying / dancing from sunset to sunrise and it was a fantastic time, it actually helped to create friendships that will last a lifetime as each one of use will remember the days and adventures of our misspent youth.

However during that time I got plenty of chance to see BOTH the good sides, and the bad sides of Cannabis.

Firstly we need to deal with a few misconceptions and incorrect facts about Cannabis, such as:

1. Cannabis is NOT addictive: You will find a lot of doctors / governments say that Cannabis is not an addictive drug, but putting it very bluntly that is a load of SHIT. For about 15% or even 20% of people Cannabis can actually be a very addictive drug and I could take you to countless people who smoke weed every single day and who suffer bouts of depression or even anger when they are unable to smoke weed, people who smoke weed so often and so heavily that they will suffer extreme withdrawal symptoms if they don't smoke it for a day or two. For certain people Cannabis can be a very addictive drug, that many people become addicted to the high it provides / the feelings it provides / the chemicals it releases into the brain, and like any drug Cannabis can become addictive.

2. Heavy Cannabis use: Within the UK the government says anyone who smokes Cannabis once or twice per week is classed as a "Heavy User" but again this is total bullshit, there are thousands upon thousands of people out there who smoke Cannabis EVERY SINGLE DAY, ALL DAY. Heavy usage of Cannabis is someone who smokes it everyday almost without fail, many of them wake up in a morning and the first thing they do is roll a joint and make a cup of tea or coffee, and they continue to smoke weed throughout the day.

Those two facts change a lot about Cannabis use, that actually what appears to be a simple easy chilled out drug suddenly becomes a heavy expensive addiction that means some people are walking around constantly stoned which I know for a FACT because I did for about 20 years of my life, and sadly with any addiction, with heavy use of any substance comes various other problems.

Generally I found there to be TWO kinds of Cannabis users:

A) Active Smoker: These people are generally the ones who enjoy a few joints after work, the type of smoker who don't smoke Cannabis every single day without fail but are perfectly able to smoke weed and still function in the normal everyday world. Generally these people do clean themselves, do have decent hygiene levels, are able to work and function in a social society. They view Cannabis as a occasional treat and run fairly decent and ordinary lives in between there smoking sessions.

C) Addicted / Bad Smokers: These people take Cannabis use to the next level, they often smoke Cannabis every single day and a good part of their world evolves around Cannabis, they spend a large percent of their time looking for dealers of Cannabis, finding the money to buy Cannabis, constantly hanging around with people who smoke Cannabis, at any part of the day their blood probably contains enough Cannabis to get a none smoking person stoned out their heads, and sadly for some of these people their lives do become dysfunctional as a result, they will suffer such things as.....

Bouts of Anger

Bout of Paranoia

Mood Swings

Lack of Hygiene

Loss of Employment

Loss of Friends

Relationship Breakdowns

Lack of Cash

Tooth Decay

Bad Breath

Superiority Complex

Depression

In fact heavy smoking of Cannabis has been linked to brain damage.

I think at some point in our lives everyone has witnessed this, everyone has seen that young man walking down the street who basically stinks, he smells very badly of body odour, his baseball cap is filthy hand has large black stains around the edges, he probably looks sweaty, withdrawn, like he hasn't been out in the sun for months, his clothes are tattered and look like they haven't been washed in weeks, his finger tips are badly stained with a brown / yellow substance from constantly smoking, his teeth are stained,, his eyes look puffy or red like he has hardly woken up, he almost seems nervous and on edge, he walks with his head down and hands in his pockets almost like he is avoiding contact with people, avoiding contact with all the normal none smoking people who don't understand his world, his shoes are tatty and worn, perhaps he isn't even wearing socks and generally he looks unclean / not washed.

He then quickly meets someone who passes him his next bag of weed of then he scurries off home to spend the remainder of the day smoking the £40 bag of weed he just bought, that he locks himself away in his house and turns on his play station and the next 18 hours go up in smoke.

In my 20 years of smoking weed perhaps the best line I heard about weed comes from the cartoon series "South Park" the line was simply.

"Weed make you feel okay about wasting your time"

That a lot of people wake up in a morning and they wonder what they can achieve today, they have a list of jobs in their mind, that a lot of people wake up and understand they need to clean themselves, they need to clean their clothes, they need to tidy the house, they need to go shopping, they need to attend work, they need to pay the bills. But with heavy weed smokers a lot of that can go straight out the window, that smoking weed heavily makes you feel okay about wasting your time and suddenly a lot of the things most people see as a daily routine gets forgotten about.

Give a stoner a big enough bag of weed and he will sit for a week in front of a computer playing games, things such as bathing / cleaning / changing clothes all take a back seat.

What does all that mean?

It means there are two kinds of smokers, those who can smoke weed and still function in the everyday world, and those who smoke weed and basically don't function is the everyday world, that some people can smoke weed and see very few bad effects on their lives, where others who smoke weed see their lives virtually taken over by what some people call the DEVILS HERB.

VIOLENCE & WEED:

This again is a vastly undocumented factor, that generally people view smokers as chilled out none violent people, but again that is not exactly true. In my life I have met maybe 15 or 20 different people who have smoked Cannabis so heavily that it has caused them a vast array of mental problems, when combined with other problems they suffer it can be very explosive.

You will find a lot of young people begin smoking weed not only because it feels good, but also to escape certain problems their life has faced. Maybe they were raped as a child, maybe their parents have a hostile relationship, maybe they were bullied at school, maybe they were just born into a poverty stricken area, maybe they an angry person, however sometimes these people find weed and use it as a way to chill out and as the years roll by those kids turn into adults, well built strong adults who's brain has been melted by Cannabis for the last 15 years and it the end it makes things worse not better.

Say for example we have a young teenager smoking weed and one day his parents challenge him about his behaviour, then what happens?

That teenager becomes moody, hostile, they are full of comments like....

"You just don't get it do you!"

"You don't understand my life, you haven't got a clue"

"Your always picking faults with me, your against me"

"I can't wait to get out of this place, I might just leave and never come back"

"The world doesn't understand me"

The teenager will often play the victim, will become defensive, moody, fighting back against authority.

If you can imagine the exact same style of attitude but in a well built 29 year old man then sometimes they can become extremely angry, extremely paranoid, and even violent.

I have known heavy weed smokers who have smoked weed for that long that they have become "Unstable" with long term / heavy use their reactions become erratic / moody / hostile / angry against the world / that smoking weed in some respects is like swimming in a warm but lonely sea, that it takes away your problems, gives you a nice warm floating like feeling, relaxes you, but also leaves you isolated and when such a person faces reality or even authority then it can be a very difficult and stressful experience for everyone involved.

I find a lot of long term heavy use smokers almost have a massive problem with authority, that they almost have a superiority complex, that actually your not a smoker, you can not understand me, you don't understand my life at all, how can you comprehend all that I have been through, I'm a individual who has seen past your normal vision, I know the score, I know more about life than you do, don't come at me with your rules and authoritarian ideas, and basically such people find themselves fired from work, kicked out of relationships, losing friendships and so on.

The prime message here is that some smokers are great people, others are not and it highly depends which one your meeting.

Some people see Cannabis as nice occasional commodity in their lives, other lose their life to Cannabis and end up suffering all sort of problems as a result, for some people Cannabis is life.

There are also many other factors to take into account, the original question was would you be okay someone advertising they are 420 friendly.

In my experience it will put a LOT of people off. The vast majority of people ALWAYS think of the worst possible scenario. You say "Weed Smoker" to me and I instantly think of the scruffy dysfunctional person who surrounds their life with weed, who smokes weed almost to be normal in their eyes, the type of person who puts weed first and cleaning and hygiene second.

However we also have to remember:

Weed is illegal in a lot of places.

A lot of people wont want to sleep with you if you stink of smoke.

That a lot of people will not want their homes smelling of weed.

That family people might not want weed anywhere near their children.

That the person your playing with might have a sensitive job such as a police officer.

Generally I would avoid people who want to mix drugs and swinging together, that if you really desire to mix both drugs and sex then you need to meet someone who is okay with that, or meet someone and build up some trust and friendship before asking about that subject.

I think you will find writing 420 friendly on a profile would put a lot of people off you, it will only attract other active weed smokers.

You could however start TWO profiles with different pictures, one which is 420 friendly and one which doesn't mention it and see the results.

Totally agree with what is directly above about addiction and abuse. Anything that is pleasurable has the potential abuse.

I view it exactly the same as alcohol. A certain percentage will be addicted, and it will cause them issues in life. Maybe it is our age group, but we meet very few 50 yr old "potheads" in the lifestyle. I really don't see the difference between the person that drinks a couple of glasses of wine in the evening vs taking a couple tokes. We have sat in a hot tub smoking a joint a police officer and a lawyer at a recent party. Most of the (vanilla) users we do know are professionals, have good jobs, kids, and are generally quite successful in life.

I do a have one vanilla friend that have been smoking weed all day, everyday for many years. I would say he is completely addicted, so I know it can be a problem. I also have friends that have destroyed their life with alcohol, sex addiction, and a myriad of other addictions. Moderation is key to everything.

Me and my wife are very occasional users, a gram lasts us a month, even when we share it with our friends. If a couple is not 420 friendly, it isn't a big deal. If they are, we will smoke or vape some with them. We do tend to have more fun with those who are.

I fully agree with trying 2 separate profiles. We do have 2 separate profiles and it does attracts 2 different sets of people. We get far more meets from the profile where we are 420 friendly. Even then, the people we meet do take very good care of their body and are far from addicts. In our area there are ~20M people in a 30 mile radius, and pot is 100% legal. Our biggest issue is finding time to meet people. Even if we put off 50% of the couples, there are still hundreds close by that are not put off by it.

I think the odds of meeting a heavy stoner in the LS are very slim. Every one we have met so far has been very educated with good hygiene.

Like someone mentioned we seen more alcohol addiction then pot heads in our life. From our experience outside of the LS, the aggressive behavior has always been 99% alcohol related.

I guess if you were a heavy addicted user like Sun&moon was...we would feel the same way towards it, and wouldn't want anything to do with it.

We don't see it as a negative to see "420 friendly" in a profile. Someone mentioned as long as it's not emphasized. Even us as a couple that can partake in 420, we would "not" reach out to a couple that emphasizes the use of it.

Like stated in my rather long rant, there are 2 kinds of Cannabis user.

The first are mild / fun users who actually smoke weed and hardly see any bad effects on their lives. These people smoke a few joints a day to relax but they also live clean, hard working, responsible lives. I have known loads of weed smokers who have clean homes, good jobs, good hygiene, nice friends. These people are generally low to moderate users of Cannabis.

The second are heavy / addicted users which is where the majority of problems can begin. Some people basically smoke Cannabis so much / for so long that it does begin to change their life and personality, that they do become addicted and dependant on smoking weed. These smokers often wake up in a morning and the first question on their minds is "Where is my next bag of weed coming from? Where is the money for my next bag of weed coming from?" and yes such things are an addiction and with any addiction comes problems.

I find weed smokers often lie to themselves, that heavy weed smokers basically create excuses for themselves, they say things like.....

Its for medical reasons.

It doesn't cause me any bad effects.

I need it to be normal.

It helps me sleep.

Its more healthy than drinking.

I have known a lot of people who "Justify" their Cannabis use to themselves and others, they cover over the bad facts with seemingly good excuses, but in reality very heavy use of Cannabis will effect your life, in my experience at least the longer and more often someone smokes Cannabis the more problems they begin to face.

Male Impotence

Bouts of Anger

Bout of Paranoia

Mood Swings

Lack of Hygiene

Loss of Employment

Loss of Friends

Relationship Breakdowns

Lack of Cash

Tooth Decay

Bad Breath

Superiority Complex

Depression

Anxiety

Sleep Loss

Authority Problems

Breathing Issues

Are just some of the things very heavy / everyday users can end up experiencing.

There are also users like us that just take a toke once a week or two as a sexual enhancer. For me it is natures Viagra. For my wife it makes her super horny and multi orgasmic. Just one toke before we get naked is usually all it takes.

Due to our jobs, we don't smoke, but wouldn't be opposed to playing with a couple that smoked elsewhere. We don't like the smoke or smell, also wouldn't feel comfortable playing with a couple that was high, when we weren't. If we worked in different industries, we would be game. Its legal in a neighboring state.

420 does not mean smoke or smell. Vaping and edibles both have become quite popular around us. There is even THC infused chewing gum and suckers available.

The two kinds that you described (Sun&Moon)...well to us are both stoners IMO. A few joints a day, is one joint too many (even if you can function).

We are more like what 3waypleasure described. One toke maybe once in awhile, and I emphasize one toke is all that is needed for us to have a mind blowing sexual experience, and from our experience with couples it's been the same for them. We have not encountered any couples that actually smoked a full joint or taken more then two hits max. Although in our bliss cruise we were offered gummy bears (but with no experience with edibles, we refused)

Nevertheless we always appreciate your thorough insight on all subjects sun&moon.

Thank you :)

In the late 70's I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. The side effects of the chemotherapy I was on caused severe nausea and vomiting. There were no effective antiemetics on the market to combat the ill effects. Doctors and nurses suggested marijuana. They couldn't supply it, but would allow me to bring it into the hospital and smoke it in my hospital bed. I was on intravenous chemo for 5 days straight, two weeks off, back on, and so on. It was the only thing that would ease the severe nausea associated with my treatment. I lost about 70 pounds over the course of my treatments.I had experimented with it previously, but this was a revelation for me and my family. My father even went so far as to start growing it for me. I became a strong advocate for it's usage, and a regular user for many years. I was a health professional and it never affected my career, family life or personal hygiene. I still like to puff once a week or so.

420 friendly would not have any impact on whether I would consider a liaison with someone who listed it in their profile. I would however not want it to become the focal point of our meeting. Sex is the goal!

To 2NoLimit, good that you stayed away from the gummy bears! I have witnessed inexperienced users who ingested gummy bears recently and it wasn't a pretty picture. Comatose and not able to speak or move for 6 hours straight! It all depends on the content of THC, and you really don't know what you are taking.

I have limited experience with edibles but will say it varies how long before they go into effect so it is too easy to take too much. In terms of wording on a profile "accepting" sounds like tolerant to me and not quite the same vibe as "friendly." I am thinking of putting "420 okay but not mandatory for play" because I think it is an accurate description. Some of my partners neither drink nor smoke weed but say they are fine with my choices. Maybe as a single female they are more accepting? When I see someone with two profiles I wonder what they are hiding and pass. I notice the harder drugs on Craigslist, I am not tolerant at all there. Yes some people do smoke too much, I ended a long term friendship after too much stoned and stupid. We could go round and round on pros and cons of various substances but I think the issue here is whether it's in a profile and how.

We have definitely been to some parties where everyone really was just too stoned. I mean really stoned. I mean too stoned to talk. In fact we just keep seeing it more and more.

I have drifted to a)drink b)smoke or c) have sex, pick one. I think alcohol and pot really affect male performance especially when the guys are older.

When we meet a couple and they want to get high we rarely join them anymore, it just doesn't really work out.

We have never let "420 friendly" deter us from contacting or meeting another couple. We have partake but it's also not a deal breaker. But I'll say so far none of the "420 friendly" partners we have meet were crazy druggies. If we also want to partake, they'd gladly share, and if we don't, they have no problem with it. I am not a big 420 person but sometimes it does make me horny. I know there are different strain or kinds. But in the grand scheme of things, it's not something that's high on the list of choosing partners.

We prefer profiles that have 420 friendly in them and we have it on ours! We live in Canada where it is now finally legal as it should have been all along. The best playing experiences we have had so far in the lifestyle have been with others that do it as well. It makes both of us horny as hell and the sex with others that are also users has been insanely hot.

Having it on our profile has most definitely turned many people off and to be honest we could really care less, because they are obviously not the kind of people that are on the same page as us and we probably are going to have a totally different opinion on many things in life if they consider pot some hard drug for addicts. We don’t live with views from the 1940’s and don’t tend to get along with uniformed people that do.

People that are pro booze, but are uptight about pot are the ones we avoid 100 percent. In my 48 years of life on this earth I have seen multiple peoples lives destroyed by drinking. Families destroyed, jobs lost, addiction battles, lives lost, people abused at the hands of a drunk and people losing everything. This seems to be acceptable to many of the pot is dirty and bad crowd for whatever reason. In contrast to that I have never seen any of those things happen, because someone chooses to partake in some 420 ever and I have been around it most of my life.

I lived through the Hippie era, including an overland trip from Germany to India. I ran into a lot of pot smokers.

When I worked on a cattle ranch in my youth, I used to hang out and dance in a country saloon with other cowhands and cowgirls. I met a lot of drinkers.

I can say with confidence that I never saw a pothead become angry and violent. I never saw a boozer who became thoughtful and introspective. I saw a lot of bar fights.

You’ve never been to Philadelphia. Folks smoke it while they’re out on the corners selling it. Then other folks that smoke it drive by and shoot the person selling it because they’re “on the wrong corner”. Never saw a bar owner get shot for selling beer in his bar. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

We don’t go with the 420 crowd for one reason, the smell turns out stomachs. We not anti-pot yahoos or anything like that. I don’t judge what anybody does, it’s just not for us.

Not a fan of 420 or tobacco. As stated above, they both stink and no matter how much you scrub, brush, clean it still permeates everything.

Not to mention that although it is legal in California, employers haven’t updated drug screening policies to keep up. Not worth it.

Not a hippocrit, tried it in our teens but like Daniel Tosh said, “I don’t smoke weed because I’m not 15 anymore and I have shit to do today.”

We really don’t understand why so many people that have on their profile must be drug free still contact us even though it is clear as can be by our profile that we are not drug free! Is it selective on which dirty druggies they will play with and which they won’t?

Had another squeaky clean drug free couple hit us up today online wondering what we were up to tonight. We replied that we were going to be smoking a whole bunch of pot and hanging out with a friend. Then pointed out that they were only looking for drug free and we are not. Yes we still have the ability to read profiles with all that pot we have smoked that is supposed to make us stupid.

It amazes us that all these drug free people can go through life without ever having caffeine, alcohol, pain killers or prescription drugs which are all drugs. All the power to them for being so toxic free, but that kind of life is not for us.

I finally learned the origin of the 420-friendly that you see in so many on-line profiles. I had known what it implied; that they like to smoke weed. But why the number 420. Why not 260 or 289 or 999? Well, it seems it is a calender date -- April 20, National Pot Smoking Day. Ha, ha, ha, ha. I feel so out-of-touch with popular culture. I am really alone in this? Tell the truth. Did you know that 420 was a calender date?

Post Script: Before you start to dispute this fact, I'll tell you right now, I did not get it from Wikipedia. I heard it on NPR so it has to be right.

We seem to be running into a lot of couples lately that are, as they say, "herb friendly" or "420 friendly". This is a real turn off for us, and we were wondering just how common this is so we're creating a poll. We figure the polls are anonymous, and would think that for obvious reasons, would work better than just asking for replies.

I recently archived an eleven year old thread about whether or not swinging and marijuana mix. Things are certainly much different today than they were in 2004, so I'm thinking a new thread about our current reality might be interesting.

This thread will start out a bit U.S. centric, so my apologies to the international audience if this is a bit of a bore. However, your insight, experiences and thoughts are more than welcome. Just no picking on us puritans.

Marijuana use has been legalized in a few states, and it appears that if things continue, at some point every state will legalize the weed at some level.

So, if/when pot is legal in your state, how will you handle the mixing of swinging and pot? Does legalization change your boundaries about what is and isn't acceptable as far as bringing these two things together?

I like to use poppers during group sex. I consider this a "toy" of sorts. I really know nothing about them. I use Rush. Does anyone have any information on this? I'm pretty sparing with it. Seems like it can't be good to use constantly. Thanks all.
