There actually is a Swingers reality show on PlayboyTV called Swing.

Playboy TV

I've never seen it, but the concept is this:

Every week we will be inviting a new couple to our weekend retreat and mixing them with veteran swingers and trained sex experts. Some will find it brings them closer, while others will get torn apart

Sounds good BUT,

I'll admit, first of all, that I have never seen it. The advertisement, however, puts me off a bit. It represents a continuation of that stereotype that swingers = jet set = swingers etcetera. Not likely, in other words, a "reality" show.

Right now if you have Dish, you can talk them into giving you Playboy free for 3 months, I was able to and I know several others that have as well, just ask for it, if they are hesitant, complain that they give it for free in the Latino packs, and then they will let you have it.

FWIW, the second season of Swing premiers April 21st.

Edit: Corrected the date.

We watched the first season last year when it was on. It was really pretty realistic we thought. The newbies really were newbies and had many of the same anxieties and concerns that most newbies have. The experiences ranged from voyeurism/exhibitionism, to soft swinging, to full swapping...sometimes many couples all together in a big play room and sometimes just two couples together. As newbies ourselves last year, we actually learned a lot from watching and listening to the rules the newbies set as well as the conversation between the more experienced couples with the newbies...and then from seeing how the newbies handled the experience the next day. Some decided to continue swinging and some chose not to.

We watched the first episode of the new season last night. Ooohhh...boy. It was a train wreck with a couple running headfirst into it without any rules or limits, poor communication through the night, disrespect of feelings when the male half started having problems, and then he ended up storming out in the middle of the night with lots of tears and drama. It was hard to watch, but lots of discussion between my husband and I after about what we had seen and how we can avoid scenarios like that ourselves. We'd been thinking of cancelling the Playboy channel, but I think we'll keep it for a few more months and finish out the season.

Evidently the mansion they use is the same one that the American Idol contestants are currently living in. I'd never heard of this show until I saw news postings about this connection.

I love Holli and Michaels show on xm radio 102 on Fridays. They have been speaking about the new season of swing and it sounds interesting this time around. The free episode I saw last year was great and the couple was adorable.

I just got finished with the first episode of the second season. All I can say is, "wow". It was great to watch and sit back/learn from that couples experience. And note to self...I miss swinging because of all the cool people you meet :(

I like this show. Me and my fiance just watched one together last weekend and we set our DVR to record others...it was interesting and sparked some good conversation between me and her. We have never swung or anything, but I have told her it is my fantasy to see her with other people...male or female.

DANGER! ZOMBIE THREAD LIVES!!!!!1!!!1!

Okay, that out of the way, we just ran into this show so I went in search of some discussion about it on here. We've watched about half season 1 and it's an interesting, though somewhat repetitive show. Understanding of course that this is the Playboy Channel and as such their choice of people they show on it sort of reminds me of modern country music, it doesn't really lend itself to a fair cross section of swinging reality. Pretty much every new couple they have on there is a twentysomething couple, skinny, visually beautiful. First thing that comes to mind when these couples leave the Swing House is "good luck finding something like that in the 'Real World™'".

Other then that, it's amusing. It certainly reminds me why we stick to the older crowd! :)

I thought I'd chime in now that season 3 is almost over. This season started slow but heated up toward the end and showed some very real issues that can occur. We can't get Playboy on cable but have watched all the episodes through the online membership which is actually pretty cheap! The crowd (house couples) seemed more mature this season and I think it's heading in a more accurate direction.

I think it's pretty accurate. Sure, the end goal of each episode is sex, let's not deny that, but I enjoy seeing the games they play and the dynamics of each group. There was a 4 part series called Swinger Wives which didn't show any sex but did show the struggles some couples have with the lifestyle.

I have heard that the show is being re-branded and re-released for the US. We saw it through BBC in the UK.

I do hope we start seeing more shows on TV portraying the lifestyle in a positive light, not as some of the docos have as dirty, uneducated deviants.

We actually played with a couple on the show, so at least some of the swingers are "real". We didn't know they were on it until they mentioned getting stopped at the airport with their toys for a filming. Nice couple, VERY smart.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that the couples on there weren't real swingers, and indeed they all seem very well grounded and, for lack of a better term, have their shit together. I'm sure they would be a pleasure to meet and play with. My only point really was that it's awfully "two-dimensional", if you will.

God knows, if we get invited to the "Red Room" we'd have an absolute blast!

Be careful with playboy.tv as opposed to playboy.com. We tried using playboy.tv and the two credit cards we tried using were corrupted and had to be replaced. I don't think this was an accident. My guess is that playboy.com is more genuine.

They are both registered to the same people. So as far as 'legitimacy' is concerned I'd say they are the same.

Reference: Playboy.com Whois Lookup     Playboy.tv Whois Lookup

However it is almost impossible to get a bank to allow you to do credit card processing for any kind of 'sex' based online business (Google search for Cindy Gallop and her troubles getting 'Make love not porn tv' off the ground). So everyone uses the same limited selection of (less than savoury) CC processors (in this case: Manwin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). If your CC problems originated with our Playboy.tv subscription I would blame them.

Also, the devious up-sells on their subscriptions are nasty (pre opted-in $1 trial account to a companion service that converts to a $40/mo reoccurring subscription unless you email to stop it, etc). Be careful, and double check your cc card bill to make sure you aren't getting billed for stuff you didn't actually want.

I don't think it's devious, it's clearly stated it will re-bill unless you cancel. I cancelled my trial no problems online. They offered a discounted subscription as an option and I just opted out. Common for most trials of anything (gyms, etc.). I know they also offer refunds if you are re-billed without reading the fine print. Just like anything in life, read what your signing/buying.

Regarding credit cards, I bank with a smaller credit union that is very touchy about any transactions. They call me whenever I'm overseas to verify transactions and wouldn't process my Playboy TV transaction. The major bank I also have a card with works online always. The transaction for Playboy originates from Ireland.

Last season was good. It was the best season so far. I really liked the couple that were from Michigan and she had the multi-colored hair. Though, I would like them to continue to have various age groups representing.
