Montel swinging show

Recommended Posts

Montel is doing a show on swinging. It just started on fox if anyone is on now and wants to watch it.

I had to leave before it was done.

They had a couple that are current swingers. She was a cute redhead and he a laid back dude.

They talked to them for a while then put on ex-swingers.

The swinging couple talked about swinging as a sharing of there sexual energy with others in pretty straight forward terms. They were only into FFM's though and put the swinging community across as bi-females for the most part.

The other couple came on and started talking about the fact that after they had kids then they ceased to swing...this brought on great cheers from the audience.

Montel kind of made the swingers look like idiots in my opinion. The ex-swingers though appeared to have a wife-dominant relationship. He talked about swinging as if it were the greatest fun they ever had but she apparently didn't feel the same way.

It was interesting to see how the crowd got riled up with every moralistic viewpoint the ex swinging wife could dish out.

The community is regarded as disease spreading hedonistic, terrible parent types while the ex-swingers are coming across as souls that have been saved by the grace of god.

The usual.

Interesting point. The swingers parents came on and supported them. The mother said at first she was shocked and cried for days. The father said he talked to her rationally and explained that swinging is not wrong, just a lifestyle choice. There were some people clapping and cheering with them, but it looked as if many others wanted to but were afraid to.

Anyhow, now both the mother and father of the swingers accept there way of life and it is a non-issue. Quite interesting anyhow.

I actually saw your post, right after you posted it, and tried to tune in. It wasn't broadcast in our area. Our Fox station had some guy (that I had never heard of) doing a talk show with a topic that had no appeal to me.

Your assessment of the show, (based on what you viewed) I will have to say that it just confirms the reason I do not watch TV anymore. Naturally I will watch my NASCAR races, other than that...American Idol. The rest of TV can just survive without me! (The latter is because my children are so involved and now they have me hooked.)

I like the Montel show - most of the time. It's one of the only talk shows I can stand to watch. He usually tries to get guests on both sides of any given topic for a balanced discussion, but then asserts his own view in no uncertain terms.

Usually, I agree with many of the points Montel tries to make on his show. However, the swinging issue is not one of them.

I did not see the show mentioned in the first post, but I did see one a while back where there was only one couple present, and they were in a horrendous situation. The married couple was probably in their 40's or so and had brought in a younger (barely 20?) year old girl to play with. And when I say, brought in, I mean that she actually moved in with them (so right there, this may fall more into the poly thing than swinging, but it was on a show about swinging, so anyway...). The younger girl proceeded to get pregnant by the husband, then start disrespecting the wife. What a great example of "swinging" couples, Montel! Great.

Was this the show that started with swingers and ended in polyamorous relationships.

I saw one like that on montel a few weeks ago.

It was pretty good..and it surely didn't show the pretty side of swingers lol.

The ones on the show were every day non glamour models.

I have seen very few talk shows that present swinging in a positive light. They look for cheers from the sanctimonious crowd.

What if their spouses liked the idea? Holy shit, they'd stop cheating huh?

Then they would be out of topics cuz that is what most of them are about anyhow...cheating lovers.

Cheating is acceptable and humorous, but swinging is a horrible disease with immoral implications. I truly believe that most people that have marital problems do to cheating should give swinging a try anyhow before hanging up the prenuptial agreement for the attorneys and splitting up the kids.

It just burns my balls when I see a person that has been cheated on begging for forgiveness and the crowd saying OK OK he/she just made a mistake......now you OWN him/her.

The person CHEATED! There is no room for that in swinging, but they do not focus on that very important part of this lifestyle.

Swingers share, cheaters steal.

It is all about ratings, another reason I do not watch televison on a normal basis. IMO, and based on what I have learned through "EXPERIENCE" (I think I can say that now) is that swingers are among the most honest and open people that I have ever met.

That is one of the best statements I have ever read, John. One thing that I have learned is that "real" Swingers are blatently honest and have more on their minds than just a roll in the sack. It is too bad that the reality of swinging would not be good for the "media" ratings. I suppose the "real" swingers would be just too boring.

Too threatening Lori.

It is easy to cheat, but it is hard to communicate with your partner in a way that you can enjoy sexuality and not risk your lifetime bond.

Sometimes you just floor me with your insight. So true, John.

Heck, I'll go further than that: when does TV ever show anything, even the news, in a truthful and realistic way?

Okay, I can't stop laughing here.

Since the Montel show stunk, how could we improve the ratings? (may as well make this thread productive) LMAO

What would be a catchy title to draw in viewership if Montel decided to do a show based on the diversity of swinging members here on Swingersboard?

LMAO........

Lets start a swingers channel.

They have a fricking channel for people that want to make a million dollars on buying homes with no downpayment. They have fishing, golfing, old cars, religious, and channels that teach you how to cook really crappy food. They have channels with movies that no one watches....we need a swinging channel.

Yeah......I would be Da swinging man! 1-800-Swinger!

If anyone pinches me I'll bite them.

I agree with you there. Alot of television broadcast half truths. That is why I stick with Home Improvement and National geographic kind of shows. lol

Yeah a good reason to watch. Plus all those exotic places they show gives me incentive to save for vacation.
