The girlfriend and I are looking at spending a week at Paradise Lakes in February. We know this isn't a swingers resort, but it happens there.

We love our local Nudest resort, we wear black rings..seems to get the conversation headed in the right direction

Questions:

Is Paradise Lakes worth spending a week at or is there another resort that might be better (We are on a budget flying on Southwest points can't afford Hedo II or Desires)

Is it reasonable to Uber from Tampa Airport Hotel to Paradise lakes, or would it be better to get a car?

Any other recommendations?

We spent a week at Paradise Lakes some years back. Got invited to a couple "cocktail" parties. That's what they called them back then. Conversations were very open in the pools and hot tub. Open PDA was taking a chance on reprimands. It is my understanding that the rules have been relaxed some since then. We do not have first hand knowledge, and can only go by what we have been told.

There is a slightly more upscale resort, as you might already know, called Caliente, not far from Paradise Lakes. But if you are on a budget, Paradise Lakes wins by a nose. We have enjoyed Paradise Lakes and have, in fact, rented a condo on the property for one month in January. As divenaked has pointed out, members and staff are nowadays looking past PDA. We have met swingers there. The crowd includes both old and young.

Week-long auto rentals are inexpensive. And you never know, you might want to drive to Caliente for a day pass. You might also want to drive to some really great and inexpensive eating places in around Lutz like Ukulele in Land O Lakes.

We usually stay at Caliente. But give Paradise Lakes a try. We have not been there in more than ten years. We don’t want to eat every meal “on campus,” so we rent a car. If you are on SLS and/or SDC, list on hot date and you will likely meet people.

To SW PA Couple, what’s the weather like in Tampa in January?

I can answer that….It's definitely warmer and way sunnier than New Jersey in January. January really is what passes for winter here. Nights are cool (low 50's, sometimes a bit cooler)days are generally upper 60's low 70's, almost always with a breeze and compared to our summer, dry with low humidity. The occasional cold front brings rain and a cold snap where temps can drop into the 30's at night and 50's daytime for a couple of days. Somehow it feels colder here. If you look at a map of Florida and start in Naples in January, temps drop 5-7 degrees in about hundred mile increments as you go north. Since we've been in SWFL for 12 years, Mrs Doc says I get grumpy when its cold so she's drawn a line from just north of Tampa across the state and says Im not allowed above it between mid December and mid March. She's a wise woman!

Wife and I will be visiting Paradise Lakes next month. This will be our second visit. Our attraction to PL over some of the other resorts in the area is it seems to have more people in our age group, 50ish. Because I have heath issues we like that single guys are allowed. We are very low key and discrete about play but do look for opportunities when we travel. My question for the thread is do you know of discrete signals that a woman seeking a friend can give to let them know shes possibly interested in play. She does wear a anklet on her right ankle but I have heard most folks dont know its a sign of a hotwife.

From thirteen years of experience in the lifestyle and a couple of years of experience with clothing-optional venues, I feel confident in saying that there are no secret signs, no secret handshakes, and no secret code words. We have found swingers at places like Paradise Lakes by simply talking to people. It is a very rare person who is offended when the subject arises during casual conversation.

We just got back from spending 4 days at Paradise Lakes and had a great time. The facilities were very clean and neat. Staff very friendly and helpful.

If I remember correctly, back in the early days of the internet there was a LOT of amateur porn coming out of that place, so they must be doing something right!

You'd better check your memory on that little factoid. The rules at Paradise Lakes were actually much more restrictive in the "early days". If people were seen, for example, in a public display of affection, they were warned. If reported again, they were tossed out.

I doubt there was any policing on what went on in individual condos.....Tracie Licks from myhottiewife.com was from there I believe. The defense rests LOL

I am confident that no policing occurs inside of any condo. But I have a questions for you. How would any knowledge of people making pornos relate to the OP's question of whether or not the Paradise Lakes Resort is good place for spending a week's vacation?

We did not see any PDA during the day . The dances on Friday and Saturday nights were very sexy but everything was well under control. They actually have a paper that must be signed at check in to remind folks of there strict policy against sexually overt behavior.

I'm not going to rise to the bait here, I just meant to leave a fun Paradise Lakes-related comment with what little I knew about the place. I don't see a way of deleting my posts here so feel free as a moderator to enforce your rules as necessary and remove them as you see fit so people aren't bothered by them.

Evidently this is a sensitive subject.

Thank you for all the good information, I think we are going to Stay at paradise lakes and Day Trip to Caliante.

We are hoping The Tree House will be having a Sunday Party and Finish the Week off at Secrets in Orlando, any comment on those locations?

People "of a certain age" find the Sunday Tree House parties especially welcoming. Footnote: for those of you interested, do not type "Tree House" into your browser's search facility. Enter "Florida Treehouse". Much better probability of a successful search.

@ Ncal: Mrs Doc was in Orlando for a weekend in June for work related meetings. She skipped out on the saturday night dinner to check out Secrets. She had never done a club without me but we had wondered about the place and so I encouraged her to go and have fun. If she liked it, we'd have made another trip together. She wore a very sexy low cut dress and no underwear. She was underwhelmed! The place was not very welcoming and what crowd there was not very attractive nor were they or the staff very friendly. If you're going to be at Paradise over a weekend and want to visit an on premises club, Eyz Wide Shut in North Tampa is a LOT closer than Kissimmee and we've had some fun nights there.

Well, yes. I suspect that the average age of people at Florida Treehouse is a little higher on Sunday is that the club's hours of opening are a little earlier on that day of the week.

We ended up skipping on Secrets and spent 9 days at paradise lakes, would couldn't have had a better time. Good bang for the buck, Swinger Friendly, we had no issues finding playmates, we will be planning a return tip in the near future.

Isn't Paradise Lakes a family nudist resort, meaning they allow under 18s?

Within the walls of the resort, 18 or younger is not allowed. Just beyond a get that separates the resort from a private residential community, my wife and I did seen a couple of teens waiting to have a ride in the family car. Both were fully clothed. Don't know exactly what this implies but my guess is that 18 or younger might be allowed in this private community.

I used to participate in an online nudist forum and knew a woman who frequents PL with her husband and has for many years. She told me that PL has always allowed minors. I just looked that website and it appears to be true. They are restricted after certain hours from some areas, but seem to be able to go pretty much anywhere there during daylight hours.

PL IS AANR affiliated. As such they must remain family friendly. That also means they must remain no overt sexual conduct. When we visited there was a couple there with a toddler, and a family with teenage children touring the grounds.

I've never been there, but I used to be part of an online nudist forum. One of the people I became acquainted with on that forum was a woman who lived very near PL with her husband and spent almost every weekend there. I recalled that she talked about it being family friendly. She also hinted that she was aware that some minors participated in swinging activities -- behind closed doors, of course.

If this account from your acquaintance is true, then I find it quite disturbing. Also, if by “minor” the acquaintance meant they were below the age of consent in Florida, persons involved in the play session, at least those having contact with the minor, would be subject to criminal penalties, including most likely a substantial period of incarceration.

In conversing with some of my Florida acquaintances, what you say is confirmed to be true. Our daily forays from our condo at The Fountains to The Secrets, and the conversation pool did not have us crossing the paths of minors at the times when they would have been out-and-about. Thus I gained the impression that they are not allowed.

My wife and I have again this year booked a condo at Paradise Lakes. We have already noticed differences. Although most people seem to conform to the Florida mindset that wearing a face mask is a violation of their Constitutional Rights, some are doing so. I had to smile as I greeted a woman while walking past who was completely naked except for the mask covering her mouth and nose. She did not see my smile as I too had a mask. There is a sign at the entrance to the club and swimming pools area that says "masks required". The club's employees and managers seem to be enforcing that rule, inside of the building, at least, but not at the pools. I'm OK with that.

There are far fewer people here this year. The man from whom we rent our condo tells us that rental business is down. There are notably fewer RVs in the RV park.

About the club, its new management have changed its days of opening from seven per week to five. It is now open Wednesday through Sunday. The club has new management owing the fact that the former manager passed away. I remember this guy. We would often see him about the place directing maintenance tasks. On one occasion last year I saw him admonish contract personnel to get down from a ladder owing to the fact that he did not believe the ladder to be same. Tragically and ironically, it seems the cause of his death is that he fell off of a ladder. May he rest in peace.

January 2022 update: The resort has made some notable changes. One-week, one-month, and three-month memberships are no longer available. For a couple, a one-day membership is $80 ($95 Fri. Sat.), six-month $1,250, single-year $1,795. I believe that time will tell whether this business model works. Younger than 18 years of age no longer allowed inside the area of the pools; children still allowed in the residential areas. No significant change in the special events calendar as compared to previous years, A lot of effort has been made to upgrade and maintain the facilities.

Are there a lot of people there? Well attended? We went to Paradise Lakes MANY years ago, switched to Caliente because it was newer. Wish success to both, there are not enough resorts like those.

Not so many people here as were here last year. But still well attended and just as friendly. We’ve seen old friends and are making new. Stated a group at the Paradise Lakes Facebook page for people who like to play Fast Track (a board game).

This Sunday evening just past we were introduced to the Lake Como Family Nudist Resort. The difference from Paradise Lakes Clothing Optional Resort are subtle but we are learning to appreciate them. I will say more on this difference in future posts.

All visitors are required to check in at the front office (no "gate" exists). You tell the office manager your reason for wanting to be inside of the resort. Acceptable reason seem to be going to the restaurant (our reason), visiting a resident, or just to look around. We were given a paper form that a waiter would need to complete as we were leaving. The waiter wrote the time that we went out the door and we presented this paper to the office manager (along with our restaurant credit -card receipt) as we drive out. I assume that if too much time had elapsed between leaving the restaurant and going out of the resort, uncomfortable questions would have been asked. To assure that we would return with the proper documents, the office employee kept our drivers licenses while we were inside.

The Lake Como restaurant has a menu a bit more varied than the menu of the Waters Edge Bar at Paradise. The quality of the food is about equal. Neither Lake Como or Paradise Lakes have food equal to Caliente. My overall impression is that "condos" at Lake Como are not so much like condos as like double-wide trailers those trailers being separated on average just far enough apart that you could easily maintain your patch of grass with a weed whacker. Every person at the restaurant with whom we spoke expressed complete happiness with the resort, the activities available, and their living arrangements.

Hi, We are considering visiting Cherry Lane resort in Michigan. Can we hear some personal experiences? Any chance to have sex in public? (or semi-public area ???)

      Thank you!

We heard there is a lot of swinging activity going on there.

If you have been there, please share your experience or confirm if swinging takes place or not.
We would like to visit this weekend, but want to make sure of what to expect.
