Is a swinger cruise a good way to meet people?

Recommended Posts

Hoping that this will be a good subject for discussion. Is an entire-ship takeover swinger cruise a good way to meet people? What are the prospective advantages and disadvantages? Are there prospective payoffs or is this simply a way of meeting people who you are not likely to see again but are also not likely at all of belonging to your hometown PTA.

We went on the Bliss Cruise last year. And yes, it was a fantastic way to meet (and play with) people!

We chose to "pre-meet" people online before the cruise, rather than taking our chances with chance meetings on the ship. That said, we found even total strangers to be friendly and open. We made a point of sitting with people at meals, rather than sitting by ourselves. That was a nice way of introducing ourselves to new people.

There were some existing groups of people who knew each other, but somehow those groups seemed more open, and less "cliqueish" than groups sometimes can be at clubs. We fell into a great group of couples who all seemed to know each other, and they seemed happy to treat us like old friends!

One advantage of the lifestyle cruise setting is that everybody is treating this like a special occasion, and a unique opportunity to play! So I think people are more ready to be friendly, flirty, and playful than in other settings that are more "routine".

Hmm, disadvantages? I'm having some trouble thinking of any. I guess people could find the sheer number of people onboard to be intimidating. But if you try to make contact with some couples beforehand, the numbers seem more manageable. Also, there are so many meet and greets and other social events, making it easier to meet people on an individual basis.

My opinion is this: if you are considering a lifestyle takeover cruise, sign up now! You'll have a great time!

We were on a Couples Cruise in Jan 14. Had a great time. Met a ton of people and still converse with some online. Found by a Unicorn on day one (they find you, you don't find them). Ran into people we knew, but didn't know they were on the cruise. One of the best times we have had. As with any Lifestyle event, the fewer expectations, the more likely you are to exceed them ;)

We'd love to take a swinger cruise sometime, it's definitely on the to-do list. For those who have experienced one, especially if you have taken more than one cruise but on different ships, I'm curious. Is the cruising crowd is similar to the club crowd, meaning more high energy and outgoing, or do some of the people that prefer the quieter one on one style of meeting others cruise too? We fall somewhere in the middle on that, so not really worried about it in that regard, I was just curious if one could draw a parallel there, and if, like clubs, different cruise ships have a different vibe and so attract a different clientele accordingly?

When we were on the Bliss Cruise, I would say that we found both the extra-social party type people and the quieter, one-on-one people. Probably more very social people, to be honest. But we did meet and get o know some people in quieter setting, and play in private rather than outside on deck or in a big group playroom.

I can't comment on the question of different vibes on different cruise ships, because we've done just one swinger cruise.

We've been on 5 LS cruises (2 different companies putting them on and 3 different cruise lines).

We would agree with the input CoupleinMD79 provided above. With a cruise ship full of people for a LS cruise you are going to have the full demographic range from party wild to low key and observant. We did not see any difference though between the ships and companies putting on the cruise in terms of those attending each trip.

There are a lot of couples on board. Some like to do the "hit and miss" type of approach in terms of finding couples during the week. We prefer not to leave that much to chance - after all, you only have so many nights and hate to spend the first few nights just getting around. We look for other compatible couples through 2 sites we have a profile on and have found that works best for us.

My wife and I are new to this. Tried same room same partner a couple of times but never have done the full swap. We mutually agreed to explore the cruise experience with no expectations. My wife is a very reserved personality, she and I are from India and we do have our own hesitations in trying out a cruise tour. Would someone be able to provide a little bit more information about Indian couples participating in the cruise trip? Did anyone have any experience with an Indian couple in the lifestyle during the trip? Your advice and suggestions help us prepare ourselves well. I did not mean to be offensive here, apologies if anyone feels that way. Appreciate any advice here. Thank you!

Most nationalities, races and religions are on the cruises we've been on (3). It is hit or miss if other people from India are there. We were surprised at how many people we met who were open in saying that they did not play with others, they just liked the sexy vibe. It is easy to meet play partners and easy to play with just your own partner. It is a fun trip even if you are not ready to play yet.
