Viagra vs. Cialis

Recommended Posts

I used to use Viagra. I got occasional headaches, so I’ve used Cialis. It generally works. However, my insurance will not pay for it. I am thinking of switching to generic Viagra. What experience has the board had with the generic V?

My urologist group has a source for 20mg viagra. It's $2/ 20 mg pill. They are very pro sex.

I believe there is a drug called Revatio which has the same active ingredient as Viagra. It is in 20mg pills. It is intended for a different blood disorder.

Just plain old Sildenafil in 20mg only is cheap as hell. it's used for heart patients at that does so you'll just take a few. My doc gives me scripts for 480 pills at a time and I take 5 for play. I think I paid 125$ for my last script.

I use daily Cialis - actually the generic form Tadalafil. It works great! What I don't like about Viagra is you have to take it about an hour before sex and it only lasts a few hours. Even regular dose Cialis only lasts about 36 hrs. The daily dose version is great because you are always ready to go (and I do mean GO!) at any time. Gotta have a doctor's prescription for any of the ED drugs of course. Ignore the no-pharm crap - snake oil - placebo. If something that simple and cheap really worked why would the pharm companies spend billions on research and testing to develop drug that do work?

I get mine from Northwestpharmacy.com in Canada. Just over $1 a pill - about $33 a month. You need a written (hard copy) prescription. I started taking it for a prostate thing I had going on (fixed now) but it sure works so it's original purpose!!! Never had such rock hard boners. So I'm continuing to take it :)

Late response...how long do you have to take daily Cialis before things are “harder?” A week? More?

I have also recently tried Tadalafil, generic Cialis, and got it from Northwest Pharmacy in Canada. As mentioned above, you do need a prescription, but it is about $35 for 30 tablets, plus $10 shipping. However, very easy process and good customer service. If you are in the US, it can take up to 18 days to receive it. Although we are all different, for me it works great! Take a tablet, wait an hour or so, and no problem getting and staying hard. And it does last a day or two. Good luck.

Tadalafil 5 mg. Just looked at the Northwest Pharmacy website and it appears the price has increased, but now there is free shipping instead of $9.99. Still, a lot less than buying Cialis in the U.S.

Thanks,tbone1! I am switching back to Viagra. I’ve taken a week’s worth of Cialis leading up to a swinging event, only to have nothing happen at the event. I think that I would rather drop a Viagra 30-60 minutes before action begins.

I agree with tbone1. I just reordered from NWpharm last week. $35 and pennies for 30 days (30 tablets) 5mg each. Shipping was $9.99 but you get some independent guarantees with that. I order 90 days at a time which reduces shipping to 11 cents a pill, or total about $1.28 a pill. The free shipping thing is an occasional special, as is a $5 off per order thing that they do occasionally through a health e-newsletter you can subscribe to. I would recommend NorthWestPharmacy for your Vaigra too (go for the generic). They seem to be lowest cost and best service for a reputable outfit you can trust.

It is true that the various ED meds seem to work for some better than others. I find that the 5mg per day of Tadalafil(Cialis generic)keeps me in constant readiness for a bone hard erection that lasts as long as I (or the wife) want it to. I have had Cialis regular one-off dose in the past before it got ridiculously expensive for extra vacation fun. Doc called it "recreational drugs", LOL. I found it started working in about 30 minutes to an hour and lasted about 48 hours or so for me and peaked at around 36 hours. I stopped getting it when the price started climbing, because you think you are going to have some fun and then things come up and you don't, so it got to be a waste of money. The daily use stuff avoids that - I'm always ready whenever I want to be (and ... um ... occasionally when I don't - the cock does not lie, LOL!) and for the price it's a no-brainer.

Oh, and BTW: Yes it can take up to 18 days for delivery (never quite that long for me, but that only for new accounts and for the first delivery on a new prescription. After that reorders on the same prescription take less than a week. So when you years worth of prescription is about to ran out, get a new one and reorder a couple of weeks early.

Does anyone else get indigestion from Viagra or Cialis? That's the side effect I have the most trouble with and it lasts for a good 48 hours. Zantac helps but not completely. I've used both "recreationally" when I knew I would need help keeping up with the Mrs. Viagra 50 & 100 mg and Cialis 20mg.

As for efficacy my experience is that Cialis "kicks in" in about 3 hours where Viagra takes less than an hour. Cialis will last 2 days, Viagra less than a full day but I think Viagra helps get those second and third boners in a night just as solid as the first where with Cialis it doesn't seem quite as intense.

You may want to lower your dosage to 25 or 50 mg of Viagra or 10mg of Cialis. If I take too much of either, I get a headache. Keep in mind that I am lawyer, not a doctor and I am just spitballin’ an idea. Probably best to ask your doctor.

Half the dosage works about half as well(50mg V isn't that bad) but I still end up with the indigestion that doesn't start for about 12 hours after the dose and will still last 36 - 48 hours.

The headache, stuffiness and flushing are somewhat relative to the dose. I will say that if I take a dose on back to back weekends for instance those side effects are not as drastic but the indigestion still is.

I would say that viagra is better. I have tried both of them, and Viagra had a greater effect.

Sildenafil is short acting, good for a short encounter but not all night as tadalafil. Both are available with coupon through the GoodRx App. 90x20mgm Sildenafil $14 in our area, 90x5mgm tadalafil is $27. Most people would need 40 to 100 mgm of Sildenafil(Generic Viagra) for their encounter or 10-20 mgm of Tadalafil(Generic Cialis) for their all nighter. I can get the Tadalafil for less than half my insurance co-pay and I don't have to waste my time and my Urologist's time with exception justification. Actually I take 5 mgm daily for BPH, the insurance company wants to dispense 18 for 90 days thinking everyone has ED unless proven otherwise. %mgm daily does nothing for my ED, I use Edex by injection for that. Urologist wants me to consider an implant, I have a play partner with one, it works rather nicely.

I've been suffering from erectile dysfunction, but since I am using kamagra from edrxcare.com, I don't have any problems related to sex, and I feel much better. By the way, it is very cheap and the pills have a lot of flavors. The active substance inside is in a liquid jelly-like form. The effect of it is just amazing, and I am paying only 6$ for a pill. This is a wonderful drug, it has actually changed my life.

Last few times I've used it I've noticed indigestion, which I didn't notice that much when first started using it. Also seems like the headache associated with it is stronger......I take 100mg, if I take less it doest work as well.

Was thinking of asking Dr. about Cialis. Though I read side effects are the same.

I prefer Viagra to Cialis after a multi-year experiment.

I use viagra and have noticed that some of the generics work better than others. Seems like when it comes to generic viagra, the pill will come in different shapes and colors. It may be in my head, but I can tell a certain one works better for me.

I have both generic Viagra (45 mg) and generic Cialis (9 mg).  I find one Viagra tablet 30 minutes before playtime works better than Cialis, but if I want maximum performance I take one Cialis about 24 hrs before playtime, then one Viagra about 30 mins before playtime and I achieve/maintain/regain my erection easily for the next 3 hours or so - even wearing a condom.  Maintaining an erection with a condom is challenging for me with just one Viagra or Cialis so I started to incorporate this 'dual' approach.

Downsides are feeling a bit flush, and a slight headache about 3 or 4 hours later.  Plus, it can be difficult to climax (but i don't mind the increased stamina).

This approach works for me, but is likely against Dr's orders, so please only try this if you're in good health with a healthy heart.

Interesting, that's the first time I heard of someone using both at the same time. Will have to look into that more thoroughly. But like you mentioned probably most Dr.'s are going say that's a no-no.

Maybe 20 y/a I started using Viagra but soon switched to Cialis 20 mgm which gave me boners as needed afternoon and evening. The blood level half life for cialis is 18 hours, viagra is 4 hours. My only side effect was difficulty swallowing to the point where I would have to leave the dinner table and walk around before I could resume liquids and then solids. Even worse if I used it 2 or 3 days in a row when on vacation, with that long 1/2 life the blood level tends to build up.

Actually, there was another side effect, I noticed that it was easier to pee, Cialis 5 mgm daily can be used for BPH. I have penus implants now but still use Ciaiis 5 mgm daily for BPH. I sometimes have to skip a dose because of difficulty swallowing when the blood level builds up I assume.

Just wondering, how do you feel physically after taking the med? How much time does it take to go into effect? How long does it last? Is there more ejaculate?

Last time I was at the urologist office, I asked about Cialis. I walked away with a sample box of 30, 5 mg. The drug is, I can tell you, effective in more than one way. I need to arise only once per night to pee rather than three times. And things are happening that have not happened in many years -- unexpected erections in the middle of the day, on-demand erection, longer-lasting erection.

I have asked the doc. to talk Express Scripts. If he tells them the right things, I'll be able to have this stuff for $33 a month. I've been paying that much for just two Viagra.

      This is great!

The situation: We've been in the lifestyle for about 4 years now and I've never had a problem with erection (knock on wood). My problem (if you can call it that) is that lately I have not been able to get it up a second time! I, know, many of you are playing the world's smallest as I write this. All kidding aside, something has to be done...no?

My background: Turning 40 with the libra sun, lost 40 some pounds this last year, don't drink alcohol, don't smoke but enjoying having sex with other men's wives .

The wishlist: The love of my life (ball and chain) is taking me to Vegas next week to celebrate my 40th and it's also our first time in Sin City. I have an appointment with the doc before I leave and wanted to ask for some 'recreational sex drugs' to help with lasting longer amongst other things. However, like the post title says, it's mostly about getting a second if not a third 'woody' so that I am able to "party in your bedroom, all night long" to quote a Top40 song playing at the moment.

The Drugs: Levitra and Viagra are the Pepsi and Coke of the recreational sex drug world with not many differences between the two, while Cialis seems to be of the energy drink flavour such as Red Bull. Like with all things in the world, some claim that Viagra is best and others swear by Levitra and Cialis. I, know it's a matter of personal choice and what works for you but I would like to hear from other guys in a similar siuation.

The Bottom Line: I might drink on a night or two, eat at buffets and have sex with someone's wife...I'd like to be able to have sex with her twice if possible...even with a few drinks in me and too much buffet food!?!

Which recreational sex drug would you recommend to your buddy?
