  1. I contracted a yeast infection several years ago that was caused from taking a particularly strong antibiotic for an extremely nasty sinus infection. I had never had a yeast infection before and tried OTC meds which did not work. I went to my Dr. who confirmed that I had...to quote her..."a raging yeast infection. (Great huh haha) She prescribed the diflucan, three over the course of a week. It cleared for a few days after my last dose then came back. I returned to Doc, more diflucan. Cleared for a month, then returned. Back to doc for diflucan, cleared up yeast too well, bacteria infection. Had to take antibacterial WITH the diflucan--the yeast came back. I took diflucan every month for six months after that. This ebb and flow of the pH balance in my vagina went on for about a year before everything got under control. I couldn't have intercourse because it would wreak havoc on my already crazy pH balance. Keep in contact with your doc, watch for signs. Before and after a period can change the pH balance as well. Do research at reputable sites and make sure everyone has super clean bits before having fun with your bits. If possible, maybe use toys rather than skin on skin while your body gets back to normal.
