Indicator or signs that someone is a swinger

Recommended Posts

We would like to know if there is a way, short of hanging a sign around our neck, that identifies swingers to one another? We remember hearing many years ago about an apple with a bite out of it necklace and or earrings to signify that you were involved in the lifestyle.

:hiya:

There are these wrist bands available, as well as other wrist bands, but none seems to be universally accepted or known as THE sign.

What about the story that if a woman wears an anklet on her right ankle it signifies a "hot wife" or swinger. Is this common knowledge among swingers? or is it a myth.

The anklet thing came up recently... Anklet Right Or Left. I'm sure the NASCA apple is a good sign, but you also might risk coming off as a pretentious Mac user ::P: The general consensus around here is that if there were a sign that were common enough to be posted here, no swinger would use it for fear that they would be easily outed through association therewith. If you can find it on the internet, it won't afford you the discretion that you might want in this lifestyle.

We are for the discretion aspect, and do not want disassociated because of what we are accepting of and enjoy. One does not need to be a flamer to get the point across, and we have not heard of the anklet. Never thought about the left is right and right is wrong angle on an anklet. Guess we could start looking for it, still would not assume it to mean someone is a swinger though.

We live in what is considered to be a very liberal town, yet a small local news print was put out of business because it allowed those with a slant on their views to discreetly make their availability known.

Most of the people we have met through web site ads, either never show or have grossly misstated the facts of themselves.

We enjoy what we do, but do not want to put a gigantic sign in the yard to meet other people. We do not see it as dirty or wrong if all parties are equally consenting. We are jealous of people who get to fully enjoy their sexuality while others have stay in the closet, because it does not fit societies formulation. Sex seems to be a controlled substance.

While on vacation at nudist or clothing-optional resorts, we have found the ankle bracelet worn by the female to be a good but not infallible indicator. If both the male and female shave their genitals that can be another clue but again not infallible. In both cases some gentle questionning is required to confirm or reject our initial impresions.

When Mac came out they got NASCA to "change" their logo. I believe Mac has deeper pockets than NASCA and was able to accomplish this. So NASCA just changed the bite of the apple to the other side of the apple.

That's your swinging history lesson for the day.

So is left right on the apple, like the earring? Some of us haven't seen Macs since college

If everyone who had a sticker on their car of an apple with a bite out of it was a swinger there'd be a lot more OUT swingers.

The problem with signs and indicators is that there is NOT ONE universally acceptable sign or signal that EVERY swinger knows about... and that all NON swingers would avoid.

I wore and anklet for years before I ever considered swinging... funny I haven't worn it since. I do have a tattoo around one of my ankles tho, so perhaps I have a permanent anklet. I shave my genitals but so do a lot of non-swingers these days.

There are at least a half dozen sites promoting various charms, jewelry, symbols to identify you as a swinger, but again unless the other swingers you are encountering are familiar with said charm, jewelry or symbol it won't matter.

To the Hostess:

Pretty much what we expected to hear.

We do not flaunt what we do, but we are okay with it, we are just careful about how far we prop open the closet door.

I was looking for something sexy for my wife to wear to a swinger club. Other than the usual sexy lingerie/dress I found this site with some cool anklets.

NippleCharms.com for us since we are newbies and still haven't found our right first couple these seemed like a stronger statement than we wanted to make. Instead I got her a sexy anklet where the clasps are handcuffs. Still sexy and cool but not overtly "DO ME!!!"

It's Monday so I thought we all could use a fun post to kick off the week. I just read a thread about "indicators or signs" about how you can identify yourself as a swinger which reminded me of a fun podcast I heard where they listed off all the ways you may be able to tell if your neighbor, co-worker, etc is a swinger.

      So I'll kick it off...

If you see your neighbor's wife headed out the door in a trenchcoat on a Saturday night...in August...well, they just may be swingers.

I and my wife have come across a few couples, who we were not sure were swingers are not and we found it very difficult to break ice

I have always wondered why no one has ever thought of a few secret signals that could convey the message, signals like that of the Masonic Lodge, which are understood only by swingers. These could be simple signals which only swingers understand. This will make things easier for both parties. Signals could be such If not understood by the other couple could simply be ignored without making anything obvious. These could be universal and could be propagated by all swinger websites

I'm wondering if we're out socially, if there are subtle ways to tell if someone is a swinger; or if there are subtle ways we can bring up swinging without actually saying, "We are curious about swinging." That could really spread something we wouldn't be comfortable with in our area.

I have heard before there are key points to look for to notice Hotwives/Swinging couples in public. I consider it a myth more than anything, So I will ask the more experienced here if there is any truth in it.
Its rumored you can usually spot a hotwife from the color of nail polish, jewelery, ankle braclelets, preference in shoe style are all indications of a Alternative lifestyle. *I know to categorize a individual from just these simple choices is a stretch to say in the least.*
But say we entertain the thought for a moment, any idea's how to spot signs on the male as well?

Like anything most hobbies/activities have a simple sign to show interest in it.
example: parents with kids in sports might have the football logo or whatever on their vehicle..Sure we have all seen them. Is there a global logo for swinging?lol and do you wear it publicly for the sole purpose?

Ok, I'm going to sound like a newby, but that's because I am lol. The wife and I are going on our first cruise in a few days. It's not a "swingers cruise", but I've heard that there are usually tons of swingers on any cruise. My question is, how do we spot them? I know about the pineapple thing, but i also assume that pineapples are a  pretty common thing on a Carribean cruise. We are 3 years deep in the lifestyle but, so far, we only swing with one other couple, so we have zero experience in approaching potential playmates. We are not going on the cruise to actively seek out new playmates, but would like to be ready if the opportunity arises. My questions are:

      1. Is there a way to spot swingers and, if so, how?
      2. Once we have determined that a couple are swingers, how do we start the conversation?
      3. Is there a way that we can make ourselves visible to other couples that might be in the same boat as us?
