Viagra for swinging?

Recommended Posts

Kennlea brought up some food for thought.

How many of you guys use Viagra as an aid in keeping your member active with another? If you do not, have you thought about it? Do you worry or consider the side effects? If you have used it, did you get it from your physician or did you purchase it thru the web? I have heard that it is VERY expensive.

Viagra has only been out for a few years and it has already been directly linked to hundreds of deaths.

There are orders of magnitude more documented Viagra-related deaths than documented ecstasy-related deaths even though Viagra is manufactured under controlled and regulated conditions and dosages are consistent. It's legal, but its much more likely to kill you than pot, ecstasy or several other popular party favors. By your reasoning on other drugs you should probably avoid it.

Viagra doesn't make you horny or anything, it just gives you a very reliable robo-erection. That erection can lead to more confidence, which can lead to more erotic situations, but it does absolutely nothing to your brain. It isn't a mind-altering substance.

As for side-effects, the most common is headache, but I never get that. The second most common is that you see a really strange blue tint over everything, like you're wearing sunglasses that are very subtly tinted blue. Drop a Viagra, wait 45 minutes, and then open your fridge, if the white fridge innards look kind of blue then you know that you have an erection on tap whenever you want one. If you aren't stimulated by something that would normally make you hard it still won't happen though, I have (once) gone all the way through the effects of a Viagra dose without ever getting hard because the opportunity simply didn't present that night.

The worst side effect that you will hear about is priapism, where you get hard and can't make it go away. That's mostly caused by anxiety, it can be a self-fulfilling prophesy. If you just relax and chill out it will go away. I have only seen priapism once, with somebody that made several consecutive errors in judgement and ended up taking about 300 mg of Viagra in one night. That's a very bad idea, since doses as small as 25 mg can do the job. It's best to take the smallest dose possible. Priapism can warrant an emergency room visit if you can't calm the person down, and the emergency room visit will just make them more anxious, which will make it hurt more and increase the chances of permanent vascular damage that could cause physical impotence.

Ecstasy and Viagra together in a group situation, by the way, are a glorious combination.

Now I have seen everything...comparing Viagra related deaths to Ecstasy related deaths. There is no comparison to be made. They are two totally different drugs and I don't even have to mention that one IS legal with a prescription and the other is illegal in every way. And while it is your choice to be a drug abuser (hence another difference between Viagra and Ecstasy...one is USED, the other in any form of use is ABUSE) by taking Ecstasy, it's apparent you're not going to find a whole lot of people here patting you on the back for doing so nor do I think you are going to convert any of us into Ecstasy users. And as I stated in another post, I have to question why you feel the need to alter your mind in order to indulge in swinging activities. What in your mind needs to be suppressed by an illegal mind altering substance so that you can enjoy yourself and then adding the use of Viagra (which was probably illegal for you to take in the first place if it wasn't your scripted Viagra) to insure a hard-on really makes one wonder. Like if it weren't for the two, would you be standing there limp dicked and wondering what the heck you were doing there when you could be in church?

I was just pointing out that there are risk factors involved with Viagra use, and that the risk factors include death. That's an important data point for some people, according to other conversations here.

Viagra related deaths are generally due to cardiac arrest. Some are just due to the fact that the guy has a heart prob but doesn't know it and gets some viagra, over excerts himself and has a heart attack. If you haven't had sex in a long time and have other factors that would put you in a high risk category for heart probs then see your doc before you consider viagra.

I wouldn't hesitate trying it due to the fact that it is not mind altering.

It again is a real scam that his drug has to be prescribed. The medication comes with all the warnings anyone capable of reading can understand.

How many people die just having sex anyhow? I would wager that the number of cardiac arrests during sex is in the thousands. OMG the sky is certainly on its way down. If you gotta go tho. I have a neighbor that had a heart attack chasing a 20.00 bill that the wind was blowing away after he dropped it.

I would suggest that doctors should prescribe paper money. It should have warnings on it and you should be fined if you take one out while you are outside an approved dwelling. It is amazing that this issue is basically ignored. John.

Everything one does in their everyday life poses a risk. I'm sure getting behind the wheel of a car and driving it poses a far greater risk to anyone then taking a Viagra.

And from everything I have read about Viagra(which hasn't been a whole lot) and from what I have heard, John is completely correct that it's not the Viagra that kills the person, it's the lack of being cardiovascularly out of shape and then having probably the best sex and probably the longest sex they've had in years.

While you are probably correct about the heart attack issue, you need to consult with your doctor for another reason.

"Now I don't want to get off on a rant here..." But Viagra can interact with other drugs that you may be taking for other health issues. For instance, if you are taking a drug with ANY nitrates in it...you cannot take Viagra. It will react with the nitrates and cause your blood pressure to drop to a dangerous level which can and does cause death.

In my profession, I work very closely with the medical examiner's office, and there have been more Viagra "related" deaths than you would imagine. All due to the fact that men take this stuff that have no business taking it in the first place. These deaths are caused by people getting Viagra from sources other than thier doctor. There have even been some cases where a doctor has refused to give his patient Viagra because of these drug interactions. The patient either doesn't believe him or is just plain stupid and goes to a different doctor and tells him that he's not on any medication in order to get a "legal" script. In the cases where someone takes Viagra against the advice of his regular doctor, I would call that drug abuse.

I suffer from "shy member syndrome" when we're with another couple that we don't know very very well. Viagra assists me in that situation. In another post, I mentioned that I gave a tic tac to the male half of the couple we were with and made him think it was a Viagra. While it was true that I didn't have a spare pill with me to give him at the time, I wouldn't have given it to him anyway even if I did have another. Why? because I have no idea what kind of medication he's taking. While I love to share Susie with other people for her and my pleasure...it's not worth dying over. "But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

To get back to original question....

Yes, I use Viagra. I decided to get ahold of some after my divorce. During my first sexual encounter after the split, I suffered performance anxiety. That's generally not a good enough reason for a Doc to write a prescription, so I decided to get some online. My anxieties vanished during a very fulfilling (sexually and emotionally) relationship, but I continue to use it for performance enhancement.

Because there's no real physiological need for it, I've found I can get away with using just 1/4 of a tablet for 12-16 hours' effectiveness. (Gives new meaning to 'the morning after'!)

Yes, it's expensive online, though I haven't priced what a local prescription would charge. But since I get 4 times the dosage, I consider it a bargain.

The only side effect I noticed was stuffed up sinuses, but I don't even have that problem ever since I cut the dosage to 1/4.

I hope this info was of some help.

I've been using it for about a year and it is amazing. I had been having a little trouble with firmness and went to see the doc. He had no problems prescribing it for me, as all other systems checked out OK. I am blessed with great insurance and it covers 6 pills a month for a small co-pay.

My erections are much firmer with it and I can hit that 'spot' that Janet likes again :) The best part is that I have additional control and can get hard again more easily. We're having the best sex ever thanks to those little blue pills.

It does take an hour or so to work, which leaves time for lots of foreplay. The only side-effect I get is that damned stuffy nose. Mildly annoying, but worth it. I never get any of the blue vision or anything else. I take the 50mg dosage, which works fine for me. Hard to believe that someone took 300mg; 100mg that I tried once did not seem to make an appreciable difference.

I've heard that if you leave a pill under your tongue, it goes into the bloodstream a lot faster (especially if it's split -- you don't have to melt through the coating). It has a bitter taste, but it's tolerable. I've had it kick in after just 15-20 minutes, useful for those moments when passion just carries you away.

Just don't do any frenching while it's dissolving... LOL

Drew

Actually, you'd be surprised. With most dr's it's nothing more than a matter of telling them you want it. They will probably ask you why you think you need it. I think my husband's excuse was "too much sex" or something. As long as there aren't other issues involved that should warrent your DR. not giving you the script, he will.

My hubby keeps some on hand strictly for swinging. He doesn't need it when it's just me but he does tend to get PA when with other people, especially the first time or two. If it's a couple we have been with several times and know really well, it's not a problem... which is yet another reason why we prefer to swing with couples we have taken the time to get to know really well :)

Regarding deaths directly due to Viagra, the single risk factor worth mentioning is the interaction with organic nirtates (nitroglycerin, etc.) which are prescribed for relief from angina pectoris. When the two drugs are taken together, they cause a significant drop in systemic blood pressure. That's because both drugs work by dilating blood vessels.

This interaction is probably the sole reason that Viagra is not or ever will be an over-the-counter med. Keeping it restricted allows physicians to screen for nitrate use. You can be sure that since Pfizer owns the drug patent, the company would like the pills to be as widely available as possible.

As to deaths caused by cardiac arrest during sex, those deaths were probably waiting to happen any time the man exerted himself. Men are going to try to have sex, Viagra or no. Trying to have sex with a "semi" erection can be as great an exertion as having sex with a reliable erection, with perhaps the added risk factor of anxiety and mental stress.

Our M half is in the exact same situation. It is probably more mental than anything else, but a dosage in the 25-35 mg range keeps it from being an issue. He bought 30 100mg pills about two and a half years ago, and still has about half of them. The only problem is that pill cutters don't do a very good job of cleanly halving half-pills, but he basically gets about three doses per pill.

What you stated above is true of every medication, even OTC, if you take any prescription drug at all.

I did also state in my one posting that if someone takes Viagra and it's not their script, that is abuse and is illegal.

And I agree with your opinion and extend it beyond the sharing of Viagra.

Hope those of us that are using Viagra know the risks. No nitrile within 24 hrs! Of taking Viagra.

But do you women know the benefits for you if you take Viagra? Viagra increases your blood flow. And it seems to draw it all to your clit.

I have found Viagra good for the both of us!!!!

I have used Viagra for a year. I suffered a little soft tissue damage as a marathon cyclist (darned hard seats) and while I can often get an erection, it is always MUCH harder and longer lasting with the Viagra. I got mine through my doctor with a prescription and after a full check up. You should NEVER buy it in Mexico or over the net. Lots of phony stuff and some of it is dangerous. The real thing can be deadly if your health is poor. I have always noticed when I take it that my head (the one on my shoulders) feels like it is going to explode. The doctor said it was a normal side effect and not dangerous. Feels weird though. Sure wish the insurance companies would cover it. I HATE paying $80 for 10 pills. :-(

I haven't taken Viagra but I have a few friends who have and like the results.

My question is, why take Viagra when taking a 250 mg of aspirin works better?

Really that is the first time I have heard about that, that is very interesting. But I would have to be concerned with any side effects I was under the understanding that to much aspiran could thin youre blood out to much? I really like home remedies I think they are more usful then prescriptions sometimes but I do try to exercise caution there can be serious problems when self medicating

Don't like Viagra?

Try L-Arginine..., this is a supplement found in most drug stores or health food stores.

L-Arginine is a amino acid that improves blood flow and at least for me did not cause me to feel "weird" or give me a headache. It is best used/taken with calcium ...so wash it down with orange juice.

As always read the label and consult a physician when in doubt
