Are garter belts sexy? Lingerie is fine, it looks nice, but it's not something I am really big into. But of the various types of lingerie, garter belts are probably one of my least favorites. For one, they just look uncomfortable! That's not to say I'm turned off by them by any stretch of the imagination, but they just don't have the same "ooooooh" factor for me as some other items do.

Too, I'm not expert on ladies lingerie, but am I wrong in my impression that they have slipped a little bit in popularity compared to in years past? Wonder why that is? Just a fashion trend or has so much time elapsed since they were actually a commonly worn functional piece of daily lingerie that the whole concept is just sort of fading, even for the "fancy" ones that are designed for sex appeal over function?

I think they are sexy but I don't have the legs for them. Plus, they seem so troublesome to get on and off.

I don't find garter belts doing anything for me. Stay ups are better but not by much.

Lingerie in general does not do that much overall but there has been some that I do find sexy.

I think they are sexy and great for wearing if you are going to have sex. But, for day to day, some can be not so comfortable and with some of today’s fashion, create lines underneath that you really don’t want. I find thigh highs to be similarly sexy, more comfortable, and creates no issue with lines. They are pretty much my standard for cooler weather.

I am with you...just get naked, maybe a hot thong that I am about to take off. As far as, garter belts and other hot lingerie goes, kinda turn off and the clothes are always kind of rough not silky.

I like garter belts and the feel of nylons against my legs when we're having sex, but lingerie in general (and garter belts in particular) have declined in popularity in recent times (just look at what Victoria's Secret sells now...sweats?!!). Garter belts are especially from a former era that kind of ended when pantyhose became available in the '70's (which I don't like). Sometimes the wrapping can be almost as nice as the present contained within.

Garter belts were the norm when I was young enough to care. If the panties were worn under the belt and stockings, removal was a challenge. If, however, panties were slipped on after the belt and stockings, a fellow knew the lady had a good attitude and was probably on the pill.

I am a big fan of garters and lingerie myself! Ms Enhancer has a large collection of lingerie and I am also excited to see what she will be wearing next.

What a coincidence that Victoria's Secret fashion show was on TV last night. Of course, that it was on network TV is just one more indication as to how much lingerie has changed in the last 25 years. It used to be that the Victoria's Secret catalog was just this side of Playboy and now the fashion show is prime time on network (don't tell us how it ends, we DVRed it and want to be surprised).

Ho, ho, oh my God! That's one happy Santa (as are the two of us). Thank you for the warm (actually looks like its cold in the picture) wishes. Can't wait for the next holiday...

Well, then why have you overlooked all of the previous holidays this year? Instead you choose the one holiday were the present should be wrapped and carefully opened. Of course we prefer that this present is already opened and have already been able to enjoy it, even though it isn't Christmas yet. Thanks again.

I would say for special occasions fancy lingerie is fun. When kids are gone for the night I sometimes dress up or down and have worn garter belts in the past. Not part of my regular clothing

I am getting on the wrong side of being a young'un.

I saw garter belts come and thankfully disappear.

I love it when my wife wears a string and a skimpy bra, preferably white, simply because it is so very sexy on her light brown Asian skin.

No, I don't like garter belts, nor stockings.

I just found something called suspender hose with a pretty lace waist. They fit nicely under my dress and i made sure to flash my date that there was something special underneath. I knew to wear panties over so we he really enjoyed the effect. I was initially planning on a garter but couldn't get the hose to snap in.

Garter belts do nothing for me. My wife doesn't own any and I can't say I ever met a woman who had one. I'm thinking it does turn some on and somewhere in the future we will meet a woman wearing one.

Don’t own and the few couples we are with don’t wear when with us. I can see where some might think they are sexy.

It’s not my style.

On the right woman, they look very sexy. But when the action starts, they can be uncomfortable, scratching and catching and all that.

I can tell you from a decade of wearing them on a stage while dancing provocatively, the majority of men go nuts for them.  They scream a level of classiness or sophistication from years long gone.  I enjoy wearing them.  As for comfort they are fine if you purchase a pair of quality ones, but I tend to spend a little more for well made lingerie.

On the topic of losing popularity, the thigh high stocking game has gotten much better in the past years and the need for garter belts is now really just an aesthetic, which limits their popularity and likewise their availability.  Finding nice quality garter belts is getting more difficult, which will continue to decrease their popularity.  I still wear them from time to time.

I am at the mature end of the swinging demographic as are my play friends. The ladies have their share of curves and character lines and often prefer to wear something when younger, fitter ladies prefer total nudity. This is just to say clothing is totally OK if it makes you comfortable. This is not a photo shoot. This is intimacy and mutual giving. Besides, a little color and texture is nice to see and feel. When I know my partner is shy I can adjust and just observe that as a boundary.

      Now, go shopping.

When I was about 25 I was looking for a job that I could work at night so my hubby could watch the kids.

We both scanned the new papers and I found an ad for a model for adult party items and lingerie. Rock and I went to meet the guy and his wife.

When we got there we met a nice Black couple and found out what the job was all about - It was me modeling lingerie and showing them toys for sale.

The wife asked me to try on some of the things so they could see how they fit. Most were see-thru and they wanted me to go nude under. Then Leon helped me adjust it. Of course his big hand were all over my tits, but I figured, hey it’s modeling.

The first party was the next night. It went well sold a bunch.

Next week another show. This time more men than last, but I sold a lot along with sex toys, but not many.

The next party I had a few women ask me to demo some of the toys for them. I asked Leon about that and he said sure. We sold a bunch and I was paid a nice commission, but felt weird but horny using dildos on myself in front of people.

Still doing my research... I have not mentioned my interest to my sig other yet. My question is this...

I've been reading advice to newbies and almost everyone says how they have a "date" or get together with other couples before the "real date". I've read that people like to get to know each other first, become friends etc. Doesn't this create more emotion in the situation than necessary? I mean I'm thinking that the swinging lifestyle was more strictly about the sex, not creating an emotional connection with other people. My sig other and I have an amazing bond, emotional connection and I want that to be special between the two of us. So if you are getting to know your playmates how do you keep possible emotions out of it?

Also, I'm curious. I wear lingerie all the time for my sig other, but don't really own any sexy clothes... and I'm pretty fit, slim, although a little belly. I'm getting the impression that everyone is crazy attractive and porn star looking and all dress in slutty clothes! Is it expected for the woman to be "dressed up slutty" or how do I phrase it?? I would expect to have a hot sexy little number on under the clothes, but can't you arrive in jeans and a sweater? lol. I know this question will probably make many people laugh but I just gotta ask!

For boating, beach and when appropriate for party wear, I have a selection of sarongs and pareos.  Actually, Amazon has a good selection too.   Robb and I do enjoy shopping for nice sheer and semi-sheer pareos on the Mexican beaches and at resorts.    We think most people do look and feel better with a bit of coverup (LOL).  I can be really self conscious about my butt and thighs so the pareos are really nice.

Off the internet: "What is the difference between a sarong and pareo?  A sarong is a piece of fabric usually between 4-5 foot in length that is worn as a loose fitting skirt or dress. The name sarong comes from the Malay word “sarung” meaning sheath or covering. These fabrics are often dyed in rich colors and were traditionally made with batik fabric.
The Pareo on the other hand was developed in Tahiti and adapted to Western fabric when it was introduced by European explorers in the 1700. In Hawaii, the names are often interchangeable. The modern day fabrics are often colorful vibrant and detailed with floral or some other type of tropical print representing the island lifestyle. Fabrics can be sheer or heavier depending on style.  Today women often wear their sarongs as a short or long skirt with a bikini or as a complete dress cover up."

We just canceled another Mexician resort trip.   We simply don't want to be trapped away from home over RONA and flaky testing.
