Recommendation for starting out

Recommended Posts

So we live in an area that's fairly rural with the closest club being about an hour and a half away. We haven't had any experiences but honestly we have not been looking intently (real life taking precedent).

My question is about first experiences. Would you recommend clubs or online (SLS/SDC/etc) and why? It seems that we will have to invest money with either scenario - hotel/entry fee for club / membership for online sites.

Hi there MD couple. Not sure where you live in MD, but thought I would let you know about The Korral if you are not familiar with it. It is a swingers club located near Spring Grove, PA. You can take a look at their website for more info, but they have parties on Fri and Sat nights, and during the warmer months, pool parties on Sat and Sun afternoons. You can get a 30-day membership for $20, and then go to a pool party for $40 per couple. The pool parties are clothing optional, and include burgers, dogs, and picnic food, potato salad, etc., and sodas. BYOB. Some playrooms in the club are open, or play in or by the pool. Or attend an evening party. Not sure exactly what you are looking for and if cost is an issue, but there is Hedonism 2 in Jamaica, rather pricey but always a great time. Good luck!

It depends upon where you are in MD. If you're in central or western MD, you could check out TJ's, just north of Harrisburg. There are hotels nearby but your best bet is to stay closer to the city. If you're in South Central or North East MD, or even the Eastern Shore, we highly recommend The Private Affair aka TPA. Saturday night parties are well attended by a playful and friendly clientele, its BYOB and they serve a light buffet. There are multiple playrooms, some open, some with 2 beds, some private AND they have a glory hole room (a must stop for Mrs Doc when we're there). The place is very clean and incredibly well run. If you plan on going, you must register through their website, you can't just show up. This helps them maintain about a 10:1 ratio of couples to single guys. There are 2 very nice, very clean and reasonably priced hotels (Days Inn and HI Express)in the town of Northeast MD just off I-95 and less than 20 minutes from the club. We were there almost every weekend before we moved to Florida and still go "home" once or twice a year for a club night. Our last trip was NYE. We blew off our kids to party our butts and Mrs Docs dresses off and didn't get back to the hotel until after 3:00 am. We were picking confetti out of our hair the next morning. Give them a look.

Have you thought about looking in your own back yard? Look at the ads on SLS or other online sites. You'll probably find compatible couples that live near you. And exchanging emails can be fun too. And just imagine if a couple you find perfect, and they you, turned out to be a couple you knew and already liked a lot?

I guess I wasn't clear in my question. Our of the two options, which do you believe is the best way to start in the lifestyle? We are on the Eastern Shore of ME and have talked about going to TPA but it would be a logistical issue (have kids).

The Mrs and I have talked about picking one method to start into the lifestyle so I'm just asking thoughts of each. Thanks for all of the replies.

Swinging isn’t a one size fits all sport. There also isn’t a single answer to cover every aspect of your question. Mostly though it’s like everything else in life, you get out of it in direct relation to what you put in it. It’s kind of like the fisherman that goes to the lake with one lure, he usually doesn’t do as well as the fisherman who brings a number of tricks to cover every occasion.

My advice would be to keep an open mind and don’t tie yourself down to a single fantasy. Swinging is about sex and having fun. Your mindset should be to have fun and enjoy yourself. Sex is best when spontaneous. Be open and inviting with the people you meet, and be open about what you’re looking for. Don’t focus on what you don’t like or won’t engage in, instead focus on the positive of what you are interested in.

You will find swingers everywhere, your focus should be on what you're going to do when you cross paths with them instead of where to find them.

I would say do a club, that way you can have a peek and get a feel for what it's all about and what the vibe is like without crossing any boundaries or changing anything about your relationship, if after the first visit you think you'd like to take it further then you can save that for your 2nd visit

I vote club to start. You’ll see if you both like it. You can meet people from sites or clubs later.

It is a hobby that costs money, like most hobbies.

      Hi gang,

It's been quite a while since I've posted. After taking a break from swinging, my wife and I have been toying around with checking out a local on-premises club in the DC/MD area. One of the main reasons we stopped playing is we just grew tired of relying on SLS and AFF to find potential playmates. We found the process to be tedious and hit-or-miss and now that we have a young child we just simply don't have the time for that any more.

So I brought up the idea of trying out a club and my wife sounded intrigued. We were both very against it before (we're just not club type people in general) but now I think we're open to giving it a shot. I did a little research and I ran across Tabu and The Crucible, both are pretty close to us. Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble finding many reviews for these places. Have any of you guys been to either or both of these clubs? If so, how do they compare? We're both in our early 40's so what's the usual crowd look like age-wise? Are they good places for newbies like us? Are there any other clubs in the area that might be better? We honestly don't know what we're looking for here so any guidance would be great!

      Thanks!

Hi all! Married couple from PA here, somewhat new to this sort of thing! I'm 38, and my wife here is 35. Something we have both wanted to try for a long time is a gloryhole. She really likes the anonymity of it. Does anyone have any idea where in Pennsylvania we might actually find one? Would love some advice!

We have had quite a few experiences in the short time we have been participating in the LS. One couple we have been with a few times, the husband hangs back and watches for the most part, some participation but mostly seems to enjoy watching things play out (which I can understand, I find watching my wife an incredible turn on, but I like to play too) But they are about on the same ground as us. Slow moving and each time takes some warm up and talk before we dive in. The other couple is very experienced, the husband usually has my wife's attention within a few minutes, and has her undivided attention in just a few more, I love seeing this ,however I am more shy (while clothed) and will sit next to his wife and place a hand on her knee, or just sit close to her, I have given her a back rub to start things off. I don't really know where I am at after 14 years with the same woman. It feels like trying to date again, without the objective of a full relationship . I brought this up the third time they came over, apologized to his wife for being shy. LOL, she said, "hun, you're anything but shy". Her husband said "When you have been swinging for a while, you get a feeling for what people are looking for, and when to do what" Does this seem normal to those in the lifestyle for a while? I can turn on the charm no problem and I am good at making people feel at ease, but that is mostly talking. Maybe it is just because I have been with the same number of people since 2004 until early this month, and am still really new to working my way up. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Does anyone know or go to this club? Maryland about 40 miles from Baltimore? Sounds very interesting.
