Default Would you have a surgical procedure to improve sex?

I was watching Discovery Health Channel last night and I caught part of a Dr. Drew series where they were discussing different procedures that could improve one's sex life. I didn't catch the whole program but I'll tell you about some of the highlights:

One couple had the woman's hymen put back together so she could lose her virginity all over again. They were married 16 years and after she was stitched back together they waited 3 months and she lost her revirginity on Valentine's Day.

Another talked about a woman having her vaginal muscles tightened after having 3 vaginal births and also had one of her labia shortened because she didn't think she looked very pretty down there and wanted them to match.

Then they talked about the penile enlargements where they cut the tendon that attaches the penis to the pelvic bone to make the penis about an inch longer. They also take cadaver skin grafts and implant it under the skin for more girth. Those are both permanent. They can also inject something into the glans to make the head larger but that only lasts about a year.

There was also something about having something injected into the vaginal wall where the g-spot is to make it more prominent and easier to stimulate.

They didn't talk about the risks but did talk a little about the cost.

So would you go through a surgical procedure if it would improve an aspect of your sex life?

...we watched the same program last night. It was very interesting, but I wished they had gone into more detail with interviewing those who had gone through the procedures and how they felt afterward.

Don't think I would go through any of the female procedures...I don't have any problems so why mess with a good thing ...but, it's cool that there are procedures for those who feel they need it.

I read an article about the G-Spot proceedure. They inject Botox into the G-spot region so that the g-spot enlarges and thus easier to locate and massage.

    Amazing!

The enlargement lasts about 3 months before the botox is absorbed into the body, and I think the article said it ranged in price from $1500-$3000 a shot. WOW!

There were 3 women they interviewed in the article, All of them had been able to orgasm prior to the injections, but theya ll said that it increased their orgasms and I think one of them reported that she was able to have multiple orgasms afterwards. They all reported pain from the injection, and a sense of burning they explained like your stomach would feel with an ulcer, except it was constant.

The only one that said she would do it again was the one that had the multiple orgasms. Who could blame her?

When I first heard about the procedure to lengthen the penis, I thought "you can do that???" And, probably like every guy in the world, entertained the idea for about 30 seconds...

You read enough here ot realize that a bigger penis just isn't worth the trouble.

If there were a pill (legal) that you could take to give you an incredible night of heightened sensation or generous swelling that wasn't permenant or semi-pemenant, why not? But to do something to your body that could change it forever, I just couldn't do it.

Better for me (IMHO) to do what I can (exercise, diet, etc.) and learn to love the uniqueness of the things I can't change about myself.

All surgical procedures carry risk that are unavoidable even if everything is done correctly and at the proper time.

If you and your partner were already orgasming through sex with each other why would you take those risk? It would be less risky to learn to concentrate, appreciate what you have, or learn a new technique.

Some are willing to take those risk but I wonder if they are fully aware or like young men full of testosterone about to engage in risky behavior, they always think it can't ever happen to them.

Liposuction? Uh, yeah. Tummy tuck? Maybe? Breast or genital surgery?? Don't think so. Boob lifts leave ugly scars, augmentation is difficult to make look natural and if there's any risk that I'll lose sensation in certain rather important body parts, I don't think I'd wanna risk it!

I can see why people would want to take a risk, there are so many other risks other people take with other plastic surgery. At least this is functional. I myself would probably never do it unless I was convinced it was risk free, cost effective, and gave me a sensation I've never had before. As it is I don't think I'm lacking, despite having lost my hymen, birthing three kids, and a deep g-spot. I orgasm fairly easy in the right mood with the right partner (size not being an issue). So I have no desire for any invasive procedures.

But if I never had an orgasm and enlarging my g-spot was a way to do it with minimal risk, I just might.

I don't know if it was that show, if I read it here or somewhere else they were talking about an injection into the nerves of the penis that are hyperactive to stop premature ejactulation. I'm sure that too isn't without it's risks but I could see a guy who had this problem seriously considering it.

Some of these procedures are really interesting, some are kinda scary. I just know right now they aren't for me.

I thought this was an interesting question. For myself, if I had to consider cost, downtime, and the pain? No! If money were no object (which would mean I could be loaded up with pain killers for the recovery period...) then maybe.

Mr Gold jokes that he is allergic to needles so I couldn't ever see him voluntarily having surgery preformed unless it was life or death even if he wanted to. As for Ms. Gold, just how can you make sex much better than it already is?

I had a benign cyst removed just because I thought potential playmates would think it was something STD related. I have considered having a labiaplasty to even up my labia as I think it isn't attractive.

My wife and I know a man who has a surgical implant that allows him to get an erection by squeezing one of his nuts (pumping up). It does not bother me. It does not bother my wife. He says it's a life-saver for him. If I ever need something like that, I'm goin' for it.

SW_PA_COUPLE you do not "squeeze one of the nuts" to pump up the implant. The pump is located in the bottom of the scrotum and that is what gets squeezed. The testicles are pushed up to make room for the pump. Just a little insight on how the implant works.

Medical procedures that improve one's life generally is going to usually improve one's sex life as well, both functional such as having a blown knee repaired or cosmetic such as a nose job. Think of how many women have breast implants, reductions, or whatever. It usually isn't to improve any other aspect of their life. I've surgery related to athletic injuries where my sex life was improved along with everything else, but haven't had any cosmetic surgery.

There was an area of my vaginal opening that kept tearing during sex-I blame menopause and I had it cut out last week. I'll have to let everyone know how it goes. Hopefully it will heal and then I won't have 2 days of pain after sex due to tears.

I'm pretty sure the term for the area is fourchette but the doc called it a perineoplasty. Having looked online, there are a lot of ways to make things loose or tight and even deal with types of pain for women who experience pain.

    yay science!

Tribbles, that sounds awful (the two days of pain.) I know this was a long time ago, but how did it end up? Did it work?

I hope you didn't do it. I love looking at vaginas especially the variations in them.

So I have been taking on and off this stuff called 'Blacksnake' which I think does exactly what spoomonkey describes. I have tried a few different otc stuff that has had different effects. I will say this, in our case, you can tell a difference, my wife can tell a difference. Makes me really horny, and extra hard. I don't think it actually increases 'size', but it definitely augments our sex life. It might be psychosomatic, but for me. The wife however has commented without know whether...'Wow honey did you take that stuff!'

There was a weird not exactly pain for a long time at the 6 o'clock position that finally went away in July. It feels grrrrreat now! No tears so far although we have managed to really work it maybe 3x since and not yet even two days in a row.

I am glad I did it and would do it again.

Maybe but not at the moment.I am too youthful to be having sexual problems. My vagina happens to be the 17 percent of vaginas that ejaculates every time I finger. And that's before we take in my body features, drive, endurance, and how big of a mess I can make from my orgasma-thon. But having a vagina like mine is a pain in the ass to clean up after so there is the downside. Any cleanup / other advice for people like me?

That is awesome! I'm so glad it worked! Mr. Prufrock and I went through a phase where sex was painful (although nothing was tearing, I feel so bad for you!), turns out hormone fluctuations can be a pain, literally. Thank god that went away.

I'm a little late to the chat. I had my tongue clipped a few months ago. I had a slight speech problem, but the big issue was every time I went down on the wife I would rip the frenulum under my tongue. Unfortunately it has healed, but she had a baby about a month ago, so between my healing and hers we haven't had the chance to try it out yet. I can stick it out further than before, so maybe I can finally reach that sweet spot.
