The most wonderful time of the year....

If you're a kid, that would be Christmas. As an adult, it's Halloween :D.

Ted and I love dressing up for Halloween. We've always dressed up even before we got into swinging and going to swingers Halloween parties, and hopefully we'll still be dressing up for Halloween when we're in our 90s.

This year we don't have a swingers party to go to as we'll be in N.C. this coming weekend and haven't really gotten into the swinger scene up there...yet. But, we do have a vanilla Halloween party we've been invited to and plans are to attend, in full costume.

The problem is we, or more accurately I, am having a problem finding one of our many costumes that is appropriate to wear to a vanilla party. They are all either designed to be worn sans underwear and/or there is no top or it's made of total see-through material.

As Ted told his buddy that's throwing the party, "We're coming, but Teresa is having a hard time finding a costume that covers her nipples".

Hell, not only am I having a hard time finding something to cover my nipples, I'm having a hard time finding something that covers everything else.

Goodness but who would have thought with a closet full of costumes finding something to wear to a vanilla Halloween party would be so difficult. It's a good thing I know how to sew, I have the feeling I'm fixing to have to ADD material to an otherwise very sexy costume or...I'm going to have to wear underwear

Ha ha, this is funny. We usually go to at least one non-lifestyle party each year as well as a lifestyle party, so I try to have a costume that can cross over. It may be sexy but it covers up where it needs to. It's a hard line to walk. Last year it was just a cute short dress in a 60's or 70's style, with a headband and boot toppers.

We have a vanilla party to goto and Mrs. Chicup found a costume.

"Its cute and sexy but not swinger sexy."

Chicup, it's not that I couldn't find a costume if I wanted to buy a new one, it's just I'm cheap and hate spending the money on something I really already have (although I did look at some while I was in town today)...I just need to figure out a way to make it vanilla.

I did tell Ted last night we could just go as swingers, LOL....wear our SB shirts or some of our club clothes.

I will figure something out...back to digging in the closet.

I don't have anything to add, other than to tell you two that this is a funny predicament, and that you two are now officially my swinger heroes. :)

I have to ditto two4you.

I just love you two.

We weren't invited to a vanilla one this year, and I've had to work on the swinging party nights. My costume will have to wait for next year, which, depending on how you wear it, can go for either type of party!! :)

What an interesting dilemma to have! All my costumes are vanilla friendly, or can at least be easily adapted to such, since my mother-in-law always wants to see what we're dressed as. And I don't want to have to get two costumes each year.

Good luck vanillaizing (I just coined a new term!) one of your costumes, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I never could figure anything out by myself before I left for N.C. Friday morning so...I just took every costume we have and anything else I could think of with me.

It wasn't until Saturday night, when we dumped the suitcase full of costumes out that inspiration hit me. (The party was on Sunday)

I took a short black swing skirt, a black sheer see-through off the shoulder top that has long tight sleeves that flair really wide just below the elbows, put a red bustier/corset over the top (to cover the nipples), added black thigh-highs and black punk knee-high boots and goth/puck jewelry....I did not wear panties :hahaha:

I'm not exactly sure what I was "suppose" to be, but it was very goth/vampire looking.

For Ted, he wore a pair of black jeans with his sheer see-through black shirt, goth jewelry, top hat and dark wrap-around sunglasses...again, very goth/vampire looking (:facelick:). He actually looked like Slash, minus the curly hair.

We both painted our nails black and out the door we went.

We were the only ones dressed up at the party. Instead of feeling "out of place", we had a blast being dressed up. In fact, there were a few comments by other guest that they wished they had worn a costume. Some of them did take advantage of the basket full of "quick costumes" the host/hostess had provided and put on bunny ears, devil horns and fairy halos.

We had fun and both of us behaved ourselves...well, at least out loud and insight of others we did. Between ourselves there was a lot of sexy whispering and grouping going on :EG:

What a great idea to mix it all up. Did you get pictures of yourselves? Would love to see them. :) I'm so glad you didn't feel out of place (although, I can just see you two wouldn't) while the others didn't dress up. I'm glad you had fun!!
