How to identify a swinger?

Recommended Posts

General question - how do you identify someone out in public that is a swinger. I know most want to keep a low profile, but are there signs that say "we are open to the lifestyle"? I heard that some wear apple jewelry or dolphin - but is that common? Anything else?

For the most part, you are not going to know. Most swingers, by choice, keep their public personna quite separate from their private activity choices.

You may see those who behave in a friendly manner with their group of friends and think perhaps there is more to the relationship than to most couple friendhships. And you might be right. Then again, you could be wrong.

And most do not divulge their private choices to any but those who have made similar choices for themselves.

Easy. Just yell out... "I wanna swap my wife to another couple".

Anyone answers, there's a swinger for ya. :)

Just kidding. But no I don't know of any distinctive jewelry or "sign".

NASCA (the swinger's association) has an emblem... an apple with a bite taken out of it. I've seen one man wearing it - so far :D

Most of the bi women that we know have a lot of dolphin jewlery, but we don't know of any other talismans. We are looking forward to trying out the "secret handshake" soon though.

that wasn't "vanilla", so it wasn't exactly a mystery to the other folks there.

Maybe vanilla folks would think "what an odd hobby group to form - folks who like those double slide swings"! ROFLMAO

But I don't suppose ALL are that naive - some would be bound to catch it, for sure!

So I wear my t-shirt either around here at home - or around others who won't run amok because of it. :D I don't think they'd feel reassured to know it's just a "reward" for 100 posts here.

Well, I have a habit of wearing my t-shirt around the house and one day a while ago a friend of mine came over - I had completely forgotten I was wearing it

She noticed it immediately, and asked about it. I told her it was just a shirt I won on the internet. She didn't even bat an eye and moved onto the next thing that caught her attention.

I had thought that she was just being polite so the next day I summoned all my guts and whatnot and I told her everything (it's something I should have done anyway as she is my very dearest friend and we have always been open with one another). - the funny thing is that she actually hadn't thought anything of it and she was truely surprised at what I had to tell her LOL

So I guess I can thank my t-shirt for pushing me to do what I knew I was supposed to do! Thanks for the shirt, Julie.

Anyway, about the original topic here, is a dolphin a symbol for bisexuals?

Sorry...I have to discredit wrnakedru on this one....just a little...

The first time she ever came over here - back in the summer - she had that t-shirt on...walking all over the place. Miss Discretion here nearly had a stroke and died!! What were my neighbors going to think? YIKES!!

They have all been very nice to me, so maybe they just thought "What an interesting new friend EBF has!" :D

P.S. Note to Julie: Now you know why "Miss Discretion" has never sent you her home address and size to get her t-shirt despite her almost 2000 posts on the board! ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah...dumb as a piece of fruitcake, I am. And to think...here I sat...basking in my new found popularity...and all the while...all those people were hanging around hoping you would come back to visit in that damned t-shirt !!!!!

I'm just trying to clarify here ... does this mean you DO or DO NOT want me to wear my t-shirt tomorrow when I come over to work on marketing strategy with you? ;)

"working" on marketing strategies.

Does that give you a hint as to whether you should wear that t-shirt or not?

And speaking of which...if anyone on here has any experience with marketing strategies...please, please, please PM me. I have a few questions. (or a 1000 - )

When we're out & about in public, we wear normal street clothes. No "super secret" symbols, jewelry, or anything like that. My outfit is usually jeans, a shirt, and sneakers (during summer) or a jacket and hiking boots (during winter). Amelia usually wears a pair of sweats, a sweater or tee-shirt, and sneakers.

Purposely low-profile.

She's worn our Swinger's Board t-shirt once when playing with another couple. Amelia used it as a prop in her strip tease. Rrrowww!

hubby was thinking of getting 'swinger' tattooed on his forehead...but we doubt the boss would like it lol

I like the idea of yelling out in a crowd ;)

Heck---we wish we knew who was and wasn't. We went to a house party with two other cpls lastnight and was told this one cpl was very tame and to be good. We ended up in the host hot tub with one of the girls "NAKED" and three of had a fun time playing. So when you think someone don't swing---one might be shocked. We had a blast and it was the first time playing with someone we have never met before. We broke a rule to never play with anybody we didn't know, but for some reason it happened and it was real fun. We played truth/dare jenga and that made things more relaxing. So games is one way to slowly find out how folks react to the lifestlye---lots of flirting helps also.

My Knight and I are always on the lookout for the infamous hotwife anklet. When I wear mine, some men take notice!

But we're out of luck when we're on a hunt for a girlfriend.

I'd like to suggest we come up with something here.

How 'bout a ruby pinky ring worn on the left hand?

Thinking of the NASCA logo, sweet Bear got me an apple with a bite out of it charm for my charm braclet. I try to get him to wear the SB t-shirt while typing but he's refused in the same manner as when I ask to use a strap-on on him.

I'm of the opinion, that people who would "get" the t-shirt, I don't have to worry about them seeing it. So far no one has mentioned the charm.

We are heading to Cuba on May 4th and will be staying at a non-lifestyle resort. As we enjoy getting together with other couples or inviting another guy to join us for some threesome fun, we are wondering if anyone has had any luck in attracting or getting the attention of potential interested play partners at non-LS resorts?

If so, does anyone have any suggestions/tips/tricks that could help us in seeing if there are other people in the LS like us that may be willing to explore the possibility of some adult fun during our stay? After all, we are sure that we are not the only LS people that frequent non-LS resorts from time-to-time.

Thanks and all the best to all Swingersboard members.

I and my wife have come across a few couples, who we were not sure were swingers are not and we found it very difficult to break ice

I have always wondered why no one has ever thought of a few secret signals that could convey the message, signals like that of the Masonic Lodge, which are understood only by swingers. These could be simple signals which only swingers understand. This will make things easier for both parties. Signals could be such If not understood by the other couple could simply be ignored without making anything obvious. These could be universal and could be propagated by all swinger websites

I have single female friend that I've known for the last year and a half. We're pretty comfortable with each other and our kids play together on a regular basis. Over the last year I've had a couple of times when my 'playdar' has given a little bleep with her. Usually by something that she's said or a feeling that there is just something there that I couldn't quite put my finger on. You know what I'm talking about?

Today we went out for coffee and were just talking, usual stuff, and she started talking about wanting to go to an event for a "meet & greet". I haven't been around too much to social events in the vanilla world but I've never heard this term used in any other format than swinging. So I asked her if she'd ever been to a meet and greet before. It might have been the way I said it but her body language and expression was kind of like omg did I say that? She didn't know about K and I and it was a reasonable response.

She's very open minded and our relationship is good so I came out to her that K and I swing and had been to a M&G before. Come to find out that my friend, back in the days before she was married (and subsequently divorced) had led a very 'open' lifestyle. Interesting isn't it? *BEEP* *BEEP*

When I told her that K and I swing and the parameters of our interactions with others she told me she had suspected something of the kind. So I invited her to come out with us some time to the club to enjoy an evening of dancing, a little wine, and (if she met someone she was interested in) a little play. She said she'd like to, just not right now. It's a busy time for everyone and I know that she's got some complications with her ex right now so I left it at an open invite. But that's also why I invited her, a little adult down time is sometimes just what you need.

Her and I both really enjoy and respect our friendship (and that of our boys) and while we briefly discussed the possibility of a play date of the three of us we both decided that it is just that....a possibility. Why screw up a good thing? On the other hand, if our friendship takes a turn in that direction down the road it will (or will not) happen of its own accord.

I'm wondering if we're out socially, if there are subtle ways to tell if someone is a swinger; or if there are subtle ways we can bring up swinging without actually saying, "We are curious about swinging." That could really spread something we wouldn't be comfortable with in our area.

I have heard before there are key points to look for to notice Hotwives/Swinging couples in public. I consider it a myth more than anything, So I will ask the more experienced here if there is any truth in it.
Its rumored you can usually spot a hotwife from the color of nail polish, jewelery, ankle braclelets, preference in shoe style are all indications of a Alternative lifestyle. *I know to categorize a individual from just these simple choices is a stretch to say in the least.*
But say we entertain the thought for a moment, any idea's how to spot signs on the male as well?

Like anything most hobbies/activities have a simple sign to show interest in it.
example: parents with kids in sports might have the football logo or whatever on their vehicle..Sure we have all seen them. Is there a global logo for swinging?lol and do you wear it publicly for the sole purpose?
