How important are facial pics?

I am going to join on SlS thanks to members here for telling me about it. I have no problem posting full pics including my face but my husband wants to cover our faces up. His thinking is that anybody can take them and post them somewhere else and if a couple is interested then we can show our faces if asked. Will we get less interest by covering our faces or does it not matter do people even do that?

Our unlocked gallery currently only has pictures of the Mrs with the angle in such as her face is not visible. I'm sort of leery of not having faces visible to the general public for fear of being recognized by someone not in the lifestyle who has no intention of being in it but is just nosy.

 

That being said I personally like faces being visible in the unlocked gallery when I'm looking to see if I'm interested.

Well, that is up to you of course but I'm at your husbands side. If your pics are public, they will be copied and used either privately and/or elsewhere on the web. Only showing non-facial pics on the part of your profile everyone can see is in my opinion a good idea. Then if there is contact, you can always decide to share faces too at that point. And if you do, you can protect yourself more by separating nude / naughty pictures and facial pics. Then if photos leak onto the web, there is no connection between the nudity and your face. I used 'protect yourself' in that sentence but remember outings can have a big effect on children/parents/work too and can not be reversed. Furthermore, I believe swinging has not only to be done at the speed of the slowest partner but also at the secrecy of the most concerned partner. So if this is his border, I would respect that.

 

And yes, you may get less interest so the question is if less replies is worth the risk.

We have our faces covered, but also have the same pictures (along with others) in our private gallery that we can open once we begin communicating with another couple. We probably get less traffic this way but we both have jobs that require this to be done (can you say morals clause?). Still, having something to look at add legitimacy that you are a real couple and are serious about being there. The best profile out there is nothing without a picture while the worst profile out there will at least get read as long as it has a picture.

We don't have face pics public, so we don't hold that against others either. Since you both aren't comfortable posting face pics, then as someone else said, you need to go at the pace of the slowest person on that so everybody can be in their comfort zone.

I have a related question. For a woman to show a cleverly taken photo to not show a face is easy enough by making sure enough of the lady's features are viewable.

 

For a guy I'm not really sure what photo would be good. The photos of me are in the locked gallery but I've seen enough women post on here that they would like to see the man while browsing. I don't prefer to see pictures of the face all scratched out because it looks like something from a horror movie. I'm sure my wife would kill me but does anyone think posting a picture with a funny face like a Photoshoped smiley face would be funny or a huge turn off?

 

I personally would think the person had a good sense of humor.

For us, facial pictures are super important but, as it was already mentioned, you can have the facial pictures under a locked gallery and open them to specific couples if they ask. We actually have our face pictures open to the public but they are vanilla type of pictures. We don't post any nude or suggestive pictures with our faces also included.

 

Another pet peeve of mine is where a profile has tons of pictures of the woman but one or two of the male half (or none). I'm just as invested in swinging and want to know if I'm interested in the other male! So, for those of you who have such an imbalance regarding their photos, please rethink this! On a side note, when we've met couples at a party, it's a pain to match the couples we've seen to their profiles because they hide their faces.

 

As for your question, TallAmaCouple, we've seen the gamut when it comes to photos. Some do just as you have suggested--with a smiley face. Some do the blurry look. Others crop the heads out. And others are more artistic in how they pose for the photo and can hide the face tastefully. I think as long as you are more than willing to share your locked gallery where your face pictures are, it doesn't matter what you go for.

I've seen like this more than once. I'd say that there is a difference between "humorous" and "laughable". To say it another way, adding clip art can be accomplished artfully but I can also have the appearance of "Art did it."

I can see the logic behind in sexier photos don't show the face in case they get copied through the internet and show faces in vanilla photos. If requested the vanilla ones will get shared anyways and at least someone can look at the whole picture while in browsing mode to know if they are interested in going further.

 

Our public gallery only has pictures of her faceless that I took (skillfully!) but none of me. I will probably correct this.

I won't share pics and don't care to see them anymore. Looks are not going to win me into bed. It's going to matter when we talk and meet. So I don't care to see pics nor will I send pics.

 

I know, total rebels to 'how it's done'

 

It helps that we like to meet at clubs and if we are not your cup of tea, have fun with others at the party!

We have public vanilla face pics and head cropped body pics (not nude) in our public and the sexier photos in our private gallery. If there isn't a face shot of both people most likely were moving on. We all need to be attracted to each other and the face is part of that attraction.

We are not active on the swing sites at present because we are not seeking new friends at this time. There may be pics in private galleries, but that's just a holding place. When I upload new pictures, I plan to keep face pics private and those will be completely vanilla. I may post some faceless, more revealing pics for public consumption. I like the happy face look

Pics with your faces can be easily explained that they could have gotten them anywhere. Pics of you laying in bed naked with uncensored faces will be harder to explain:)

FYI: Our public 'face' pics are tan (instead of yellow) happy faces to protect the...well, guilty.
