Ok, so I'm remodeling our large basement and I'm going to be turning it into a playroom for large house parties. It won't used for any other vanilla activities. My goal is to keep all play in this area and out of the rest of the house.

I might theme it (although I don't as what) and the sky's the limit on budget/design.

If you could make the perfect playroom, what types of things would you have in it?

A VERY large bed to start with (the bigger the better), also a nice (easy to clean - maybe leather) couch.

A bar.

A full bathroom (with at least a shower)

Lights on dimmers

a swing

an area with soft mats and a variety of liberator shapes and wedges

a massage table

You did say the sky was the limit...

Great ideas! I'm going to have numerous custom beds, that surround all of the walls, so there will be plenty of room for playing. I'm curious why you recommend mats, couldn't the liberator wedges just work on the beds? Or is there something I'm missing?

I like the massage table idea!

We're thinking the alcohol will be upstairs in the kitchen/living room, so that the basement will only be used for playing, most socializing will still happen upstairs.

Oh, of course we also have a stripper pole in the plans...

If you don't have a bar, you'll at least need a small refrigerator for water and refreshments.

Add a sound system as well. A little background music can be nice.

Lots of mirrors.

Do you want the basement to always look like a play room? Or should it double as a normal basement room when non-Swingers come over? That changes the aspects of the room, though you could still make it functional as a play room anyway. A sectional "L" couch with a giant ottoman can be pushed together to be a big bed area. Buy some giant Liberator beanbags, have a spot for a swing which you can take down when not in use. Full bathroom/shower. In floor heating if you live in a cold climate. Also make sure you have thick blackout curtains for any windows.

You might consider having one area with some sheer-ish curtains around it so people can go in there for a semblance of privacy, but the others outside can still see the shadows - we saw this at a club one time and it was HOT! There were about 8-9 people in the huge bed that was curtained, and they probably had a crowd of 25 watching them. :D No details, but the shadows in the light purple curtains were amazingly provocative.

It will always be setup as a playroom. Vanilla guests will never see it.

There are no windows so we don't need blackout curtains.

All great suggestions :) One party we attended has a three level bed - each a queen size and on a platform. There was a lot of group play :) They also had a very large bean bag, but I wonder how they wash that?

Don't forget a good music system.

We were at a private home with a play area set up like you are planning. In the center of the area was a gigantic round revolving bed. It was the center piece of the area and was called the Love Pit. As you can imagine it was very popular as several could be on it at the same time, while others were afforded a total view from where ever they were in the party room.

We volunteer to come and help help with the first time party.

I can help with the sound and lights. They are what I do for my business. I have some great LED parcans that would work VERY well at setting the mood. Link them all together and have them slowly fade from color to color. Various skin tones look different under different colors of lights. For sound, have a system that has plenty of low end and does not get harsh sounding when pushed. Put lots of fun music on a computer with a music player with "party mode" Drink prof mouse and keyboard recommended! If your near WI I would be willing to help out.

An area for people to store the stuff they bring.

This is a great suggestion! We once attended a party where they had a wall of shelves like this one:cubby.jpg

I was great for purses, duffle bags, discarded clothes

I would have the beds and stuff mentioned and some comfortable and fun bondage stuff, a bit like this. The Exposer Bench and one of these Wood and Leather Spanking Horse You don't need to be secured to enjoy...

I would have a large expanse of mirror in a corner.

A shower with three or 4 shower roses

A hot tub

I like the idea of thin curtains but I would also have a corner with a black room so you could make it light proof.

A couple of swings including one that bounces up and down.

A see-saw with open seats so you would be lifted on and off a person laying underneath.

A round bed at the right height that spun you you could play roulette with people.

In other words a kids playground for adults only...

We do not keep our basement exclusively for play use but we do set it up as a play area when we are hosting a party. We use the kitchen and living area upstairs for the bar and for mixing and mingling before we migrate to the basement to play. We will sometimes go back upstairs during our recovery breaks unless we want to watch the action (which we usually do!). We set up the basement family room as the main play area with three or four mattresses on the floor in the middle of the room. This is a large enough area for the five or six couples who usually attend our parties to play together in an erotic mix of writhing bodies. There are chairs and sofas against the wall. Most of the rest of the furniture is removed before the party. We have a largescreen TV showing sexually explicit videos, usually of other swinging parties. The lighting is soft and the music slow and romantic. Next to the family room is our hot tub which is always available for our guests to use. In the bathroom there is a large walk-in shower large enough for two or more people to share. Of course, there are the usual supplies on hand - towels, tissues, condoms for those who wish to use them, etc.

I was thinking mats for the floor (in addition to the beds). Even with beds some folks will end up on the floor (or at least their knees might) some some mats to soften up the floor play would be good. Plus it just allows for multiple levels of play.

No limit on cash...

I do wrought iron so I would have ring restraints in a rock wall, nothing like seeing your playmate waiting for you with their hands held above them to the wall. I'd have leather couches and several large beds, a bar (or a good wine cellar), TV playing movies, good sound system with easy listening music, a good environmental control system to keep it a comfortable temperature for naked excited people, a hot tub for 5 (then cram in 7) embedded into the floor with pads around the edges. I would make it look like a harem room other than the one stone wall or corner. I'd build a shower with two heads pointing towards the middle so people will need to share :facelick: and a private bathroom to the side.

Toy list:

Pool and poker tables

Sybian with lots of attachments

Dildos of every shape and size.

Clamps and restraints, paddles, condoms, and lubes

boxed sex games to use as ice breakers

So, not ENTIRELY new, but not experienced either. Two swinging experiences under our belt and loving it.

We were contemplating having a not new to the lifestyle but new to us couple over to our house on a weekend. We hang out and have a bonfire and just drink and BS, it's our version of bliss.

We have a clean house, liquor, plenty of condoms, water bottles... What else should a good host have? Appetizers? Music? Towels lol?

Seriously though, we're nervous for our second first date in 15 or so years. Any advice or stories appreciated. Thank you.

      (to the Brady Bunch theme)
      Here's the story,
      Of a fun loving couple,
Who really like the idea of a sex swing,
But they know a stand would be more effort than they want...

OK, I can't keep this going, ditch the theme music...

But, anyways, yes, the wife and I have looked at, and wanted, a sex swing for some time now. Problem being, we have a smaller house, no basement, and ceiling fans in every room. If we could figure out some way to put a bracket up to support a sex swing, we'd likely go ahead and get one, but where to put it, and how to "disguise" the bracket? Sometimes, when we take a vacation, and go away somewhere, her Mom house-sits for us, so either having a bracket that can be "disguised" as something else, or completely hidden, would be great.

One thought I've had, would be to mount a board (2x4 or 4x4) across two joists, for the eye-bolt to attach to, and cut a square of ceiling drywall out, with some way to put the square back in place to cover the hole when not using the swing.

While the idea of getting the stand is not a bad one, again, with the size of our house, the only room we could set this up in, would be the living room. If you've got one, with stand, how much work is it to set up and tear down, and how compact does the stand get? Could we stash the stand under the bed (collapsed, of course)?

      Thanks,
      Jason

Ok, we have an extra bedroom which at the moment is storage, but our hope is to get it cleaned out and possibly turn it into a playroom, so that should we host any friends over or even potentially a house party we can have a room set up for ... well... playing. We already have a guest bedroom with a full size bed that could be used as well.

So if you were starting with an empty room and wanted to create a playroom, what would you put in it?

We're thinking about maybe a futon, and some good mood lighting... but what else...
