Forgetting to flirt when out swinging

So this may sound pretty stupid. We were out to a club after a bit of a break, and we were chatting with people and I couldn't really put my finger on what was wrong. Later when we got home I realized I 'forgot' to be flirty. I know it sounds pretty stupid. I pretty much turn off being flirty at work, or in otherwise 'vanilla life'. It's a male technical environment, I am not sure the women here know how to flirt or are frankly interested in flirting with men (OK, being a bit mean but not far from the truth). I certainly flirt with my wife, but definitely have that turn it off switch when it comes to other women.

Anyhow has anybody else 'fallen out of practice' so to speak? I mean I really went back to chatting up waitresses and stuff just to get back into practice. Am I the only one that finds flirting in a swing environment a lot of fun?

I am not that good at it. It feels hokey to me. But it is a great skill for swinging. Any tips? Compliment their eyes...clothes, etc.?

Figure out ways to make a double entendre, or double meanings in words, sexual or otherwise.

Compliment specific items, specifically something she is wearing (great boots!!).

Practice on others so it 'feels' natural. Feeling naturally for me is dorky computer guy.

Make jokes even if they burn

BE CONFIDENT, toughest of them all.

One of the downside of swing clubs is the tendency for people to approach you and invite you to bed, no flirt, not even much conversation. I think the flirt part is a big part of it; turns me on to do it and hubby on to watch it or have it done by the other lady. I have come to enjoy MFMs that occur just naturally, no pre-arranged meeting, because the flirt and seduction are such integral parts and are more extended over time. Friendly talk, moving it from weather or sports to double entendres, etc, perhaps showing a big more leg or cleavage along the way, a few touches, all part of it.
