Swinging, pot, and the new acceptance

Recommended Posts

I recently archived an eleven year old thread about whether or not swinging and marijuana mix. Things are certainly much different today than they were in 2004, so I'm thinking a new thread about our current reality might be interesting.

This thread will start out a bit U.S. centric, so my apologies to the international audience if this is a bit of a bore. However, your insight, experiences and thoughts are more than welcome. Just no picking on us puritans. :)

Marijuana use has been legalized in a few states, and it appears that if things continue, at some point every state will legalize the weed at some level.

So, if/when pot is legal in your state, how will you handle the mixing of swinging and pot? Does legalization change your boundaries about what is and isn't acceptable as far as bringing these two things together?

I don't think it will change anything for us. Right now, we don't run from it or run toward it. It's like alcohol, if it starts to get in the way of a safe and fun experience for all involved, then we are out. If it's just something that is present but not front and center and isn't causing any problems, then to each their own.

The only place I can see legalization changing thing for us might be clubs. Right now, if we were at a club and it was being used with no objections from the club owners then we would immediately get leery about that club. The logic would be if they were going to turn a blind eye to that and endanger their business (and everyone patronizing it), then what else are they turning a blind eye to?

The times, they are a-changin'!

The idea of taking smoke into her lungs disgusted Laura so she never in her life smoked a cigarette nor a joint. She didn't object if Mr. Playmate did, however. She maintained that stoned guys were more adept.

Pot appeared rarely in our swinging experiences. When it did, most often, a joint was produced by our token (tokin'?) lawyer. :)

We have a lifestyle friend who hosts parties in a Washington D.C. suburb and is employe3d by government. He expressly forbid holy smokes at the parties that he and his wife host. This is much to the regret of his wife as well as mine. It is allowed at our home. Personally, boo, grass, Mary Jane, Maria Juana, pot, or whatever you might call it does nothing for me except make me caugh and make my lungs ache the next day.

We don't have a problem with it if others are partaking in it at a party. We may or may not partake in it as well if we are asked about our interest in it. It's only a problem if it seems like everyone at the party is being pressured into doing it. Our only experience thus far has been ingesting it through foods and it only made us feel dizzy.

I can't see how any club owners would turn a blind eye to marijuana smoking. After all, alcohol is legal and there are many consequences to those who drink too much. I don't know how it is at other swinger clubs but here you can't drink inside...but that doesn't stop people from stepping outside and drinking in their car then walking back in. As for consequences, non-consensual sex is one. Driving home drunk is another. Then there are those who get annoying or angry when they are drunk. I am sure that clubs have ways to minimize how these sorts of behaviors, due to excessive drinking, affects the club and other members but there's only so much that they can do within their walls. It wouldn't surprise me if club members smoked marijuana outside and then stepped back in the building. Just as it is with alcohol, as long as someone who is smoking marijuana outside isn't being disrespectful to others inside the building, they won't get on the radar.

Mr. Prufrock and I may have partaken in some toking in our college days. We've never ingested, only smoked. The friends I had who ate pot brownies had horrible experiences. It isn't possible to overdose on pot, from what I understand, but it IS possible to take too much and become a paranoid crazy person for the duration of your high (I was convinced I was dying and that everyone hated me. It wasn't pleasant.) For that reason, I now abstain, and I certainly wouldn't partake during swinging. I don't think I've ever heard of or witnessed anyone going on a rampage while high (maybe if they mixed it with other drugs?) so the risk of smoking and swinging would probably be you yourself having a terrible time and then by default whoever you're playing with not having fun either.

That being said, I used to love getting high. We were broke college kids, so it didn't happen often. That kept it fun. At first all I want to do is listen to music and dance and sing my ass off. I probably look and sound like a complete idiot, but I don't care because EVERYTHING IS GREAT AND THIS MUSIC IS AWESOME! I particularly like techno and swing whilst high. I also giggle a lot. Then I move to the eat-anything-that-is-edible-and-possibly-not-edible phase. Fruit, while high, is the best thing ever. Basically my experience is that the Ganja heightens all of your senses, while killing your attention span. Sex while high is amazing, but because my attention span is that of a sparrow with ADHD on crack, I find it very hard to actually orgasm. My mind flits from one thing to another too quickly for me to focus simply on the feelings.

Anywhere it's legal and edibles are available, I assume some people are using it. And a couple of people admitted they had oil in their e-cigs and no one noticed.

So it's there more than most of us will notice.

We both enjoy smoking pot and love having sex well under the influence! We do not care if others don't do it and never push it on anyone, but we also have no interest in hanging out with people that are stuck in the 1950's on their view of what it is. Not the kind of open minded people we like to be around. Way rather be around people that have a puff once in a while than drunks.

It doesn't change anything for us. It's not a deal breaker and we don't mind partners who partake in it. I had a few men tell me that pot makes them last longer and have more intense orgasm. I have tried it and don't really have a preference. It doesn't do much for me except sometimes it makes me really sleepy.

I joke around about how I don't do pot (or alcohol or fill in the name of your favorite vice) since I found cocaine (or heroin or speed). Neither of us do any drugs (including pot) or alcohol for that matter. We don't mind if others do, it's just we actually like to remember in vivid detail the things that went on the night before...and (in the case of alcohol) if we are going to intake that many calories, would rather it be from licking chocolate off of other people.

I love to drink and have sex. I've never done pot because it's illegal and not easily accessible, not that I've made an effort, where I live. If that changes or I was visiting somewhere it was legal I would absolutely try it. I am only interested in trying while having sex, actually.

So we are new to swinging for the most part. We've had some experiences in private with other males and females.

We are very interested in going to a swingers club but also nervous at the same time. My husband is worried about boundaries being respected and possibly pushy men. We are a secure couple so that's not the issue, we just don't want to deal with that type of behavior.

Is this a problem we might run into?

Hi out there. I’m married and in an evolving relationship. Last year I did a burlesque photo shoot for him as a gift. He loved the way it turned out but asked if I’d be willing to do something more risqué in the future. I got a reference from the original photographer (female) and told my husband the new photographer would be a male. Being the protective husband he is we both requested a meeting over a cup of coffee. We met which was great and made things all the more comfortable. I loved what I saw from his book and my husband did as well.

We had the shoot and the pictures came out great. He got really turned on by knowing another guy was doing the pictures. I was shocked. I asked him if he’d consider doing a couples shoot with me and he said he’d try but was reluctant. Pretty soon after he agreed and we were off again.

Prior to the shoot my husband and the photographer talked about his career. My husband, who’s faithful, shocked me a bit with his envy and open talk about what the photographer experienced. I’m extremely open and joined in the conversation. Both of us felt like we were conversing with someone we really liked and knew a lot longer than we actually did. Unfortunately my husband had difficulties getting hard which is completely out of the ordinary. The photographer said it happened a lot and just to relax.

Surprisingly at my husband's request he asked for me to do a POV shoot the photographer showed us in his book. Basically it’s the photographer including himself in various ways while taking the pictures. As we started taking the pictures I liked being touched by the photographer even though it wasn’t active foreplay or sex. It really was strictly for the pictures themselves. During the pictures my husband quickly got hard and watched. Eventually the photographer asked him if he was going to get involved. The rest of the shoot went as we planned. Afterwards we all sat around and talked and went through the pictures.

Some time passed again and we talked a lot about the fun we had with it. My husband admitted he liked watching the photographer touch me and if not for that he may have been to nervous to get hard.

I really want this to develop further but I’m apprehensive because it’s a major change in life obviously. I’m also not sure about how I feel about seeing him with someone else. When I say I’m not sure I mean most likely not. I don’t even really think he wants to. I almost feel like if I bring that up it will be too much too fast. Multiple times when having sex we’ve dirty talked about me doing another shoot and giving myself up. I’d feel more comfortable to actually do it than talk about it.

I feel like my husband has opened a door that I want to walk into. Am I reading it wrong? Is it best for me to just set something else up and let it work itself the way it will? Based on our interactions I have no doubt the photographer would be into it also. Would I be going to far given our relationship if I reached out to the him and told him how I feel, how my husband feels, and confirm he’d say yes?

My wife and I are contemplating swinging. I really enjoy performing anilingus and cunilingus on my wife, and I would be willing to do both on other women. I am wondering if these practices are accepted within the swinging lifestyle.

My wife isn't into oral in general, she'd rather use her hand or feet. Would her not performing oral or no wanting oral on herself an issue for getting into the LS community?

We have been playing with a couple for about five years on and off. We see them at our club, at some resorts and at local house parties. Wherever we are, she always seeks out my husband. We have all been together many times and I enjoy her husband very much, but for my husband and I, it’s literally just sex.

She is very different with my husband lately than with her other partners. I believe she has fallen for him. When I see them together, she is very passionate and attentive to him in ways that I don’t see when she’s with other men. My husband rolls with it and is always a pleaser.

We don’t want to make things uncomfortable or lose their friendship, but we are getting uncomfortable with the notion that she may be interested in a deeper relationship than we have experienced with other partners.

Should we just go with it? I’m not sure I can handle sharing him that way and I don’t think he’s interested in that type of relationship either. Thoughts about when the sex leads to something more?
