Diving back in head first

Recommended Posts

My wife and I have plans to go out to our local club with this weekend. They are hosting an event, in celebration of GenCon, which we attended at our old club in years past and really enjoyed. Thinking about it, it's the first time in a long time my wife and I have actually gone out "with intent" to an event which is likely (hopefully) to turn that intent into reality.

I feel a little like I'm diving in after a long time out of the pool... and I'm a little nervous about it. It seems to go this way for me though. Due to various issues - scheduling, energy, money being chief among them - my wife and I never seem to be able to go out all that often. So every time we do, there is an element of this "diving back in" nervousness which hits me. Crazy, huh?

I don't think it's crazy. Somewhere, I think you mentioned being an introvert, too so that might also play a part. For us, whenever we go out and don't recognize anyone in attendance, there can be some nervous energy just because you aren't sure how the evening will turn out. Will there be anyone you find attractive? Will anyone find you attractive? Will others be friendly and talkative or keep their distance? On and on the unknowns go.

I hope you and Mrs. Lionheart72 have a great time this weekend!

Thanks. And yeah, I think you're right. It's just been a while since we did this. I honestly don't remember when the last time she and I hooked up with someone was. It almost feels like the first time all over again. I guess that's kinda fun though.

Good luck, Y'all! I hope the evening unfolds just as you want it to.

I know exactly where you are coming from. I'm "new" all over again myself. I keep telling myself it will all be fine when we jump in.

BTW - You'll be fine too :)

We passed on GenCon this year. Too bad, we could have met, and if nobody wanted to play, we could have fallen back on the other hobby! LOL

You are not alone. I get nervous when we go to a party and don't know anyone. It's like when you open the door and everyone at the party turns around to check you out before going back to their conversations. It goes away after you find someone to talk. It's not crazy at all. Best of luck!

All in all, it went pretty well. ;) Like I said, it was a Gencon themed event, so we went in costume... Classic Star Trek Mirror Mirror uniforms... she looked sexy as hell. We had a fun, silly time and made fools of ourselves on the dance floor. The event hosts were great. In fact, one of them looked us up and we "hosted" him for an awesome MMF threesome. My wife came so hard I thought she was going to pass out.
