  1. Wow, it sounds like the places you're going have some crowds with high expectations. We find that if we don't place the emphasis on the play and more on the getting to know you, it happens a lot easier. Getting to know a couple has even on occasion made us run screaming from a very hot couple or two. One of the best things about the whole "lifestyle" is that most of the people are pretty laid back and as long as you take care of yourself as it sounds like you do, most of the people are going to be pretty accepting. We all have our warts, and we feel someone's personality helps to hide those warts better than anything else going.
  2. If they're done tastefully and understated, I like them. Mrs. NWMIFun has a couple and before meeting her I was of the opinion that they're trashy. But she's opened my mind. I don't think it's open enough that I'd actually get one. But it's open enough to now see the sexiness of one one a woman, and be able to think one looks pretty cool on another guy.
  3. We've played alone when the other was out of town or too busy with something else. Of course the other is in full knowledge. So, no, we don't think it's a big deal on your part. It sounds like some of the people you're talking to need to get their panties out of a bunch.
  4. We've run into a few - one couple we met at a club were parents to a student who attends the school at which I'm was an administrator (moved on from there for happy reasons, no worries about running into them hurting us) and one day later when the husband/dad dropped his daughter off at school, I didn't even recognize him at first (lol - maybe he needed to be on top of my wife) and felt rude when I just nodded at him as I passed him in the hall. Luckily I caught him before he left to say "hey, how's it going". We also ran into a guy I distantly worked with and he was dressed all in fetish-wear and was a bit more way out than what we're into. We just kind of avoided himon that basis, although it probably would have been fine to see him as we were both in the same place for the same reasons. I have always had a little smile when I see him and remember him all dressed in his latex and chains.... LOL Our favorite awkward moment was when we met a great couple we were really into and as we were discussing our adventures and comparing notes, about how some professions seem to be more open to this kind of thing. We mentioned a couple we knew that one was a scientist and the other had a sales route. They were taken aback for a moment and asked me to repeat myself. I felt awkward because you do want to have a bit of discretion, but they kept digging for more info about that other one particular couple. As it turned out it was his brother and sister-in-law. They ended up approaching one another and everyone was fine. It was a bit awkard for us and let ourselves drift away from both couples as we really got the strange vibe that they played with one another. Now when you think of it, if it did happen, which is really was only a feeling on our part, there were no blood relatives playing, but man, that is just too strange for us. lol So, there's our adventures in a small world. There's been a few other incidentals, but not fun enough to type about. From a few posts above, I'm curious as to why you think your career is over running into your bosses boss? Seems strange as that person was there for the same reason as you. If you feel comfortable, elaborate....
  5. Our first encounter was actually on our third date really before we even had a chance to know each other. We were in Key West and doing the Key West thing having several drinks. A single woman who was a local was just hanging out at the bar and befriended us after she and I were in a hula hoop competition up on the stage together. Neither of us could hula hoop, so we were both on the same page when we just dropped the damn things and showed our boobs. Since the contest was won by applause we ended up tying for the win and we both got the t-shirt which she gave to my date. Well, needless to say none of the three of us had to pay for drinks the rest of the night. There was a bit more flashing and posing for pictures and when my date ran out to the car to get the camera, she and I ended up kissing for someone or another's camera. WOW - that got me charged up beyond belief. I had never kissed a woman before. It seems that my generation is right on the edge of now when I hear about my high school students doing it all the time without it being a big deal. It was still pretty taboo for me. Well, he got back and I told him, and of course he HAD to see it too. It was the beginning of a pretty interesting evening. It turned out she was a stripper across the street and she took us over there for a few lapdances from her favorite co-workers, which charged the night up quite a bit more. We all ended up back at her place supposedly just to sleep. LOL - seems she and my husband were on the same page as they both were on me from the time we walked in the door. Somehow it even ended up on video. Anyway, the next morning my thoughts were more centered on "am I gay?" and I was seriously worried that I liked being with another woman so much. I don't think the thought of being a swinger entered my mind 1) as I really had never heard or thought of the term and 2) we weren't even an actual couple yet. So, I'd have to say that the concerns about my sexuality were my main focus and not the stigma that society places on the term swinger. Needless to say, I've resolved those worried feelings and now have no question about loving the feel and passion of another woman. We talked about it on the drive home and he really helped me come to the conclusion that I prefer men, and I was still straight even if I enjoyed a drunken encounter with another woman. Because I resolved even if I liked it, it was NEVER going to happen again! Yeah right! lol - I wouldn't even accept the lable as bi-curious for the longest time, even though the bi experiences kept inexplicably popping up. And my date must have loved it, as that was seven years ago, and he's now my husband of three years, and we've been inseperable since then. Don't know if that helps, but that's our story and those were my thoughts the next morning. I have to agree with what others have said. Shortly after this we moved to Atlanta where we eventually started attending Trapeze pretty regularly and we started experimenting with fun with other couples. The best sex came when we got home that night, and when it would come up, we couldn't keep our hands off of one another for days. So, if you're secure in your marriage and relationship, I say go for it!!!
  6. I spelled you're as your. I feel very white trash and can't find the edit button.
  7. I'll be the first to say that my first shot is happening QUICK!!! Always has, I'm sure it always will. Both in swinging with my wife and back in my young and single dating days. But luckily, even as I get into my thirties, there really isn't recovery time, and I'm just ready to keep going. If this isn't the case for everyone, I also know several guys who will just have the viagra backup. Modern medical advances are wonderful!!! This is just me, I know many guys take pride in being able to go and go and go before coming for the first time of the night, but hell, I like the feeling of an orgasm, and as long as I have no problem staying up I don't mind it happening quickly. Now, on the non-swinging side of things my wife and I have a pretty vanilla and boring (yet wonderful) sex life which consists of mainly quickies and then going on about our business. So I guess in recap, as long as your confident in your other abilities and/or you can simply keep going, don't worry about a quick first shot, if you do it right, there are many more to come throughout the evening.
  8. I'm betting ol' DH knew more than he was letting on......... It all sounds like a genius plan though!!
  9. Very intriguing thread! It seems that we are or have been members of most of the sites listed above. Our favorite is probably SDC but that's only since we moved to Florida. When we lived in Michigan it seemed to have very few members and still does in the northern area of the state where we lived. But since moving to southern Florida it has proven to be the best and most informative. SLS is nice in the fact that they don't charge and allow you to send messages via a free profile. But it seems that gradually they are taking away more and more options for free members, and this is understandable as they are a business and need to "herd" their members in the direction of paying. We will occasionally pay for a few months when we really want to see some private pictures to determine if we're interested in someone or not, or have started a great conversation and have passed our limit of being able to browse five profiles per day. Swappernet was our favorite in Michigan as it seemed to have the biggest member base for the area in which we lived but we feel for what they offered the membership price became a bit exorbitant. I have to say that apparently we are free members of both swingular and playfulswingers but rarely go to either as our free trial has passed and neither impressed us as much as SDC or SLS. But that is an intriguing story and I'm glad to see both sides are getting along and have gone their separate ways. Ok, that's our two cents!
  10. lol - that thinking has never been popular when we bring it up in the south.
  11. The north won the war. It's called pop. Soda is that stuff you stick in the fridge to keep it from stinking!!!
  12. From our experience, just be careful!!! I like the idea given above of using pictures that could have come from other sources to increase deniability. We just may have to adopt that. We are both teachers and ended up getting together with another couple that we had just started working with. LIttle did we know that they were taking it up as a last ditch effort to keep their relationship together. Needless to say, it didn't work for them and the male half was quick to tell everyone he could find about everything that occurred, mainly to trash his now ex-wife, but making us collateral damage in the process. To prove that he was telling the truth, he was quick to point people to our online profiles which we had shown them in the spirit of helping them increase their fun. This caused us to take down all pictures from online and develop a MUCH more cautious attitude about giving out pictures until we have chatted quite a while, which we find alienates many, but at the same time has also helped us to weed out the fakers when we're not handing out our pictures like candy. The g-rated only trade has also become our policy. We have also noticed a very high concentration of teachers, nurses, and police. We'll always get a good laugh out of finding someone in one of the "big three" as we call them. In summation, it's very funny that we were outed (and consequently changed districts within a year of it happening) by another member of one of these professions. It really opened our eyes to the hypocrisy of many members of our profession being involved yet it keeping to such a puritanical ethic when it really comes down to it. So, speaking from experience I'd say our advice is continue to have fun, but BE CAUTIOUS!! lol - and as a little laughing point we moved to a semi-major city where all of this occurred from a town of 550 people where we played for years without a problem or a rumor ever starting.
  13. Not a lot of time to type, but we're both non-smokers and as said above, it's not a deal-breaker, but we DEFINITELY prefer other non-smokers and make it a point to only meet up with with very polite smokers.
  14. Great story!! That sounds a little like a situation that came up with us last night. Since moving to FL, we've found that several of our co-workers (we work together now) are into "wild and crazy fun" if not full fledged swingers. Well, amongst the women there's a $20 bet (that's what caught my eye on this thread - though ours is 4 women putting $5 apiece in) of which one can seduce one of our new young sweet innocent (seeming) co-workers who swears she has no bi-tendencies, but as time goes on she seems to be intrigued more and more by the other women's flirtations with her. Although I'm not involved in the bet, Mrs. NWMIFUN is, and I'm enjoying sitting back and watching the results. I sure hope she brings home that 20 bucks!!
  15. Well, our two cents worth is stick to your guns. The way we approach our fun or swinging for lack of a better word, is definitely not a lifestyle, and we both agree if we aren't both on the same page we won't do it. Participating in this swinging is definitely not worth it if there's any trouble brought into your true lifestyle. Here's hoping your husband gives you the respect you deserve and allows you to make up your mind with what you want to do. If there's one negative from either of us, it's a no go.
