Public figures involved in swinging

We recently met a man that was openly talking about running for local public office (high exposure), at a club. We have also met high profile business people, lawyers, doctors etc. They seemed totally unconcerned about their presence at a swingers club.

Has anyone ever heard of a public figure involved in a swinging scandal? We have all heard about cheating and closet homosexuality but I can recall no public figures that were caught swinging. How do you think the public would take it anyhow? My feelings are that they would snicker more than anything......John

We haven't heard of any involved in a per se scandle. Unless of course you count the 2 clowns that went undercover at a club in Florida LMAO.

But, we do know a couple really high profile couples that do swing.

But, if someone wanted to run for office. And, had announced that they were a swinger. They'd get my (David) vote. Provided their political views were along the same lines as mine.

Hell!! We've done a lot worse in the past. I can't see being a "swinger" as a major deal breaker now days. LMAO

Someone very high up in a major campaign (I think it was Dole for pres) had an add with his wife on a swingers site and basicly disapeared when the info got to the press. I THINK it was a Dole guy, but I could be wrong, but with the way the press works I'd be surprised if they would have covered it had it been a Clinton staffer

I myself have been thinking of running for office at some point and while I would trust the couple we swing with, I don't think we would seek out any new couples just because you don't know what they would say/do.

Well I am new to this board and it's been real intersting and informative. My wife and I have been in the lifestyle for about 2 years now. Just a few discrete people we have played with and part of that reason is I am an elected official in a very small rural town. It's not a subject I have brought up at any of the political conventions I have been to, but from some of the activities I've seen, swinging is some of the milder behavior. so it may be more of elected officials involved. Just my thoughts.

As a general statement, swinging is so out of the mainstream that most everyone who does it does not advertise it to family and co-workers. It therefore tends to be mostly discreet and "self-policing".

Would you call your sister or boss and say "guess what, Mayor Joe and his wife were at the swing club with us last night"???

KIDS??!??!?!??!??? Hey now...!!! ;-)...but I don't use AIM, I have ICQ though...and a few others ;-)...

But I did once meet a very nice doctor and his wife from the CDC. But I tend to think discretion is probably important. I for one, have a high enough profile at work ;-)...they already think I'm a bit of a nut..!! HAHHA!!

I have heard from several people that a local City Councilwoman here is regularly seen at various swinger parties with her guy.

The couple I've traveled with the last couple of trips would be high profile by most accounts, the husband in particular. I don't think most folks would suspect or guess a thing in their wildest dreams. I've met a couple of people known well here in the local community that do as well.

The more high profile people getting "caught" the better. I think it will help bring swinging into the mainstream where it belongs. I respect other swingers desire to not let it be known that they swing. I do however hate it that they feel like they should keep it quite for fear of what problems might arise from knowledge of them swinging. We are no more harmful to society than people that square dance, and I think we should be looked at as such. Not as hethens like a person that claimed to be a friend called us when we said we might be interested in swinging.
