One of the first questions ask of us at the club we joined was, "Are you a member of law enforcement?" We aren't, so we answered "no." It got me to wondering, though. Why do they ask? Do they think you are investigating them? If so, you wouldn't answer truthfully anyway and what do they have to hide? If they are operating lawfully what's the problem? Do they think that cops can't be swingers? (we know some that are) Are they worried about the comfort level of the other guests if they found out that there was a cop present? I just don't understand the reason behind asking. The more I think about it the more it seems strange. What do all of you think?

Maybe its the kink in me but I'd want to jump a cop :P I guess maybe they are more concerned about someone being undercover in the event of illegal drugs being used on-site? *was it an on-premise club btw?* Goodness knows you can't get after every person who disrespects the rules and sneaks in pot (or worse). I kinda wish they could for everyone's comfort, but I imagine once a party gets big enough its hard to keep track! |

I think that it's one of those questions that people ask because they think they need to. Much like the Consent and Waiver of Liability forms that schools give out willy nilly whenever they're going to do something off campus - the forms have absolutely no legal effect, but they do gove the bureaucrats running the schools some sense of comfort. Given that most police agencies are more concerned with drugs and the state and federal funding that goes hand in hand with prosecuting those crimes, I can hardly imagine them taking the time to prosecute the owners of a swing club for being party to the crime of adultery. Now, not paying the appropriate tax and licensing fees - that's a different story altogether. ![]() W |

Dito the kink factor! I have had ongoing cop fantasies for awhile now, and would love to meet-up with a few good men in blue! Regardless, I don't think the question is of any concern to anyone. Most clubs also ask you if you are a member of the press, religious group or other. Most applications also say that if you are (for example) a member of the press that you cannot secretly tape or release any information you see at the club. I think the phrases that stick out to me the most on the applications say something to the effect that if you are indeed members of those types of groups (press, cops) that you are there as a member, off duty from your employer and that you hold harmless the club its members. |

Okay, maybe I have built this up a little more than I meant to. The party we were at got busted, but the reason the cops came is they thought there might be some selling of alcohol after hours (at least from what I gathered), which wasn't the case. But when they came in they got more than they bargined for . It wasn't an all out fuck fest but we obviously weren't there to reherse church hyms .They carded and questioned everyone and no one went to jail. But it pretty much killed the evening. |

I don't know how true it is, but I once heard that if a cop is asked if they're a cop, they have to admit it. If they lie and then try to arrest anyone for doing something wrong, it could be considered entrapment and the folks they arrested could get off scott-free. It makes even more sense in light of what NIC pointed out about what sort of stuff they're agreeing to when they sign up for a membership. If they're misrepresenting themselves, they could (potentially anyway) get into some trouble for it. Like I said, I don't know if cop are really required to tell the truth or not, but it sure would make me ask, just in case! ![]() Z | |

That's true. But on Law & Order, somehow they always find the criminal and put him away inside of an hour. I suspect the ratings on all those shows would be a lot lower if they told the story the way it happens in real life. Maybe I need to just find a cop and ask him..... Z |
