Mind Twister for Swinging/Swinger Definition...

Let's say hypothetically the world's top dictionaries needed the definition for a swinger/swinging. Who is the final authority on what definition is used on any word? What would your best submission be for swinger/swinging? Can't wait to see what this brings up!

OK, dictionaries don't usually have long definitions so, I'll just try giving a short concise answer here. To us, swinging is just letting others into our sex life. How's that?

I really want to answer this... I do... But I am having a problem wondering just what you are asking for as it does seem rather self-explanatory based on the forum we are on. Swinging is what you make it - but it does have some "necessary" elements that make it what it is...

So - I am not sure exactly what the question is asking...

I also want to answer it because I seriously dig your av...

OK, take Webster's Dictionary for example. Someone has been given the final authority on what the actual definition is going to be listed and that is the final say so to speak unless it is somehow officially changed. Naturally we all have our own opinions and variations, etc. But what would your generalized overall summary should you be writing the official definition. There is no right or wrong answer, it was a food for thought, change of topic type thread for curiousity.

My definition
Swinger - Someone (male, female, or couple) that engages in no strings attached sex with another.

Thirty years ago "Swingers" were all single. If you were married you were a "Wife Swapper". I'm sure there are at least a few members here old enough to remember "I Dream of Jeannie". Roger Healey was often refered to as a "Swinger" because of his lifestyle; parties, different girl every night.

Swinging - Recreational sex between consenting adults outside of their primary relationship.

You can tell I liked Biloxicouples definition but didn't think it went quite far enough as it seems possible to me to have consenting recreational sex with my spouse.

I am going to go with the married versions of BiloxiCouple's and Good Times' definition. It works for me and (surprisingly) doesn't include any mention of having to set yourself on fire...
