Default question about definition of swinger

We are so new to this all we have done is look at this website. My question is are some swingers just one couple and another person or is it always two couples or what?

From the dictionary link at the top of your screen:

SWINGING
An alternative lifestyle for consenting adults who enjoy social, recreational sexual activities with others, most often on a couple-to-couple basis, with full knowledge and mutual consent of both partners; single men and women are sometimes involved.
SWINGING LIFESTYLE
Style of living with swinging a major component in recreation, choice of friends, business and social life, and intimate relationships.
SWINGING MARRIAGE
Marriage incorporating swinging and often, humanistic ideals.

Suggestions from me.

Poor reasons to swing:

Getting even with or making your partner jealous.
Fixing your marriage.
You need drama in your life.

Reasons to swing:

Living life to the fullest.
You are deeply in love and want to see your partner happy and having fun.
You know the difference between making love and sex.

Anymore the definitaion is what ever you want it to be. Over the years seems that many people have wanted to change the meaning of swinger to fit their "lifestyle." There is many that don't even want to be swngers anymore, they are now just in the "Lifestyle." Some don't even like that.

Years ago the meaning of swingers was: "Recerational sex between consenting adults." Couples, singles, everyone.

Now many feel you must be part of a couple to be a swinger.

Best bet is do what works for you and does not hurt others and call it anything you want. Titles really do not mean anything at all.

Some people swing with only couples, some only with single men, some only with single women. In some one partner just watches their spouse but doesn't join, some only play together, some play solo, some soft swap, some full swap, some just like to go to the parties.

Swinging is whatever you make of it. There is no right way or wrong way to swing. It is as individual as your fingerprint.

Man, are you guys lucky to have landed here! This board is full of good information and advice, not only about swinging, but relationships and living a good life in general. If you can think of a question, 9 times out of 10, it's already been asked here at least once.

As others have said, swinging is very much whatever you want to make of it. Very user-defined activity. Have a look at Getting Started and the FAQ section for all the basics.

Welcome to the board!

I would like to add to this.
My wife and I love to go to the parties and watch everyone having fun then we have fun by ourselves. I think it's our warm up stage.
Now the strange part is we have had many MFM and full swap experiences but they have all been with people we have known for years. The people at the parties and clubs for the most part are very nice but for us they are still strangers so it's hard to make a move.
My point is when we go to a club and people ask us what we're into. We just smile and say "We're not sure"!!!

For the wife and I it's all about the experience.

Good luck in deciding what you are "into"
