I was dredging through some of the sludge posted by 'moral activists' on another board and was understandably skeptical when she insinuated that we were lumped in with such sicknesses as pedophilia, necrophilia, and MANY other disorders under the family of "paraphilia". And anything that falls under the term of paraphilia is considered a disorder. So I googled it. Never let it be said that I am not willing to be proven wrong. And I was. There it was, plain as day! Troilism. http://www.websters-online-dictionar...ition/troilism Now granted, I think the operational defenition of a 'disorder' is that it causes a person to be less healthy. Masturbation and homosexuality were once on that list of deviations, but were removed after much study found them to be within the spectrum of sexual normalcy. Troilism is listed (click here) as a rare form of paraphilia. Say WHAT?? Rare. As in, very very few people. Ok, so maybe there aren't THAT many people that actually engage in troilism, but you can bet your bunny slippers that just about every red-blooded North American heterosexual male has at least fantasized ONCE about having a FMF. So what does this tell me? It tells me we need more research in this area. Frustrating. |

| Queue Barbara Mandrell ... "If screwing others (consenting adults) is wrong, I don't want to be right." LOL I think they would be more accurate to place work-a-holics into the paraphilia category. :rollseyes Ok, but wait ... didn't everyone notice that it says "non-consenting" adults? I think that would take the overwhelming, vast majority of US out of that category would it not? ![]() Of course, everything in my toy collection (with the exception of Mr.'s prize jewel) would fall under the 'non-human object' area of the definition. |

All truly forward thinking individuals have been considered crazy. Some of the greatest thinkers were locked up in insane asylums for their thoughts, ideas and actions. Frankly, we're happy to be a part of such a distinguished, some might say sexy, group of people. The path less travelled is sometimes the best path. |

LOL, yup we're just a bunch of perverts! Perverts, with a capital "P"! Chicup, if I thought it would do you any good, I'd say be my guest, but you can't argue with stupidity. The forum I was on is the one belonging to the local newspaper that ran the story about the swinger's club under attack in Muncie. This is the story: http://www.thestarpress.com/articles...-5538-001.html and this is the forum: http://www.thestarpress.com/Forums/v...er=asc&start=0 Chicup, your intelligence and time would be wasted on the proseletyzing moral warriors there. I do not like to ever say that someone is stupid, because humans have such vast untapped potential. But if ever stupidity was more blatant, I've never seen it. The word 'stupid' just seems so inadequate next to the kind of closed-minded, 'blah-blah-blah-I-can't-hear-you', maniacal, paranoid, spiteful, hateful, UNINTELLIGENT blatherings of a handful of posters there. I can almost hear them saying, "I know you are but what am I?!" Besides, everyone has pretty much promised not to scratch the itch, take the bait, or otherwise feed the trolls. The thread is now 8 pages long and is begging for a bullet. If you're looking for some entertainment, please have a look. I just find it frustrating. Bad-mouth, bad-mouth, bad-mouth, then when asked if they would like to actually debate the issue, they say "No, I have no interest in "debating" the issue." With the word "debating" in quotes as shown, implying that there is nothing to debate; isn't the truth obvious?! The absolute ignorance and blindness - blindness to the very fact that they are ignorant and blind, and loving it! - is nothing short of stunning.

Intuition suggested: So what does this tell me? It tells me we need more research in this area. Frustrating. I absolutely agree, Intuition. A lot of research needs to be done, but not just on Troilism. Foursomes, too. And more. Maybe we should organize such research as a SwingersBoard project. We should delve into this research as deeply as possible, doing our best to develop as much data as possible. Surely sufficient research would end the frustration. First, we'll need volunteers to serve as control groups and research subjects. Where do you suppose we could find them? Mr. Alura |
