Not sure where to put this, so I'll try here. We have been members for a while so not an introduction, really. I searched for some old postings about this, but came up empty. I, the male half-62 years old-5' 11", have been dissatisfied with my weight for a while. Knees were so sore I could only walk a block or two without resting. My lower back would get so painful even after a little work, like 5 minutes of vacuuming, and would have to sit and rest. Yes I do house work, retired while wife still works. I decided to join Weight Watchers, without telling my wife, with the thought if I always felt hungry I would drop it. First, I have never been hungry on the plan. In fact I could not eat all the food they told me to in a day. Second, my back is so much better. It barely hurts at all. Third, my knees feel so much better that I walked all over the L.A. County Fair a while back, if you have not been to the fair it is huge, with only a few stops, unlike before. I am wearing a smaller belt now, and not ashamed to tuck in my shirt. My first weigh-in was 8/6/2009 I was 278.2 My last weigh-in on 10/22/2009 I was 244.0 Just to let you all know this thing works. I am not a "shill" (sp?) for the program. Much happier now. If anyone is thinking about joining give it a try. |

First off congrats on the weight loss!! I know how much better you must be feeling!! I've actually been thinking about weight watchers myself. I've been on constant diets over the years and although I've lost weight, it's been difficult to maintain for very long and the weight slowly creeps back on. My only concern is the cost. Times being what they've been lately it seems that money is tighter than ever. Do they have a monthly payment plan or is it all up front? I need to get some weight back off and I've heard good things about weight watchers....Again congrats to you! |

My wife had to go on far less points then they told her to lose any weight on it. Its a good plan, its basically calorie counting. If you have the will it works, if not it won't. |

I signed up for the full plan, includes meetings, and an interactive website that you can record your "points" for each time you eat. Has receipes, user groups, etc. $40.00 a month More on the results. My feet and legs were so swollen that I was prescribed Pressure Stockings, and I could not wear a pair of shoes. Swelling is all gone now. Wife goes to work early so I am awake about 4:30AM after she left for work I would try to watch some news, etc. and would fall asleep in my chair for hours sometimes. By 2PM I was so tired I would have to take a long nap. Not anymore, I live a normal life. Well mostly normal ![]() We have a beach in front of our condo and my 2 cats like to go down and play on the sand. I take them down so they don't run free. Many times I just couldn't make myself do it. Now they get down almost every day and love me more |

I've been on and off weight watchers for several years, just do the online site when I feel I need a boost. Actually just signed up again last week after gaining back about 8 of the 15+ lbs I lost last year.

Me too. I'm doing WW as I write this. I do the points plan, which is easy to start and stay on. I'm much more conscious of what I eat. I think I pay about $16 a month for a total on-line program. |

Wow, the pricing isn't bad then! I already buy weight watchers frozen dinners and such so I think joining would be a real benefit to me.....Maybe I can eventually get myself back into the jeans that I have hanging in my closet that have mysteriously "shrunk" over the past year. |
