Well, after almost a week of being lazy (sort of,) we got up to the gym tonight, to at least use the treadmill for a while. I started out on one of those elliptical machines, managed about 15 minutes, saw my heart rate in the 135'ish range. Finally had to get off, I think I'm possibly a little too tall to use it comfortably, as I could feel my lower back muscles complaining. So, I moved over and did the treadmill for another 15 minutes. Tomorrow, no gym, going to the cider mill with the dog for an hour or two, and then (so far so good) out to a club... Jason |

Another walk this morning. Walked one and said what the heck, take the dog this time. Went the second mile with my ole buddy newg. Minus two more lbs. |

I've been bad and haven't worked out since Wed. To many minor issues going on to make it feel 'worth' it. I will either tonight or tomorrow for sure, but we have a small vanilla party going on here today so energy may be lacking tonight. |

This year our New Years resolution actually stuck. We spent the latter half of last year cycling until the weather shut us down and then the Holiday cookies took their toll. In Jan & Feb we got into CrossFit.... love the variety... and that introduced us to Olympic weightlifting... so our crossfit has eased up... especially as we took advantage of the nice cycling weather... but the crossfit/Oly Lifting is picking up momentum again as cold weather sets back in..... We also changed our eating into a Zone-like Diet.... has made very definitive changes in how we feel and look. So... we just want be more functionally fit... and have a good time doing it... if it isn't fun... it won't last for us.... |

Ok did my weights today. Looking in the mirror while working out my arms are LOOKING good, never mind the guy next to me was benching almost double what I was ![]() I don't think I'll have the dedication to be a true muscle head, I'll just settle for 'in shape' and second looks. |

Did one of my regular fitness classes today, a lot of strength moves. Due to work pressures and an injury my wife incurred I've not had time to do a lot of working out. So today in yoga, the moves really hurt. We incorporated light weights and I was feeling it bad. I'm thinking geez...what happened..then I my mind went back to the house party we were at Sat night..that's why I'm sore... ![]() |

Well, OUR exercise routine has been disrupted to hell. In a good way ![]() We went to Smoky Mountain National Park over a 3 day weekend and hiked about 32 miles, about 20 of that with full packs. Our longest hike was 19 miles of a loop on an over night. Day 1 was downhill 10.5 miles losing 4000' and day 2 was 8.5 miles gaining it back. I kept telling the girls it was less effort than hiking out of the Grand Canyon which we've done. We made it up in about 6 hours including stops for lunch, pictures, snacks, and filtering water. My last few months of hiking a 55lb pack up my ridge paid off, today my calves were a little tight and the glutes are a little sore, but overall nothing really hurts. My pack hiking out was about 30lbs. I could have pared that down a lot more but I wanted a little more exercise. It would have been a nice hike if it hadn't been pissing down rain most of the way up. On day 1 we were on the AT for a few miles and on one side of the divide it was clear and the other side it was a sea of cloud. The trail dipped down so we could see clouds sipping over the edge when we would dip down, it was really neat. We cut our trip short a day since it was going to rain more. I did a 15 minute workout this morning to stretch and get moving again and then just finished my bike ride. Tomorrow will be the tell when I resume my normal exercise routine. |

Yoga is great and I've been trying a belly dance dvd. I'd eventually like to take classes for both of these. I found that I get bored easily, but the ones I've mentioned I really enjoy. |

I'm planning to get out my Pilates dvd and start that this week... but not tonight because I'm still suffering from the hangover from an over-indulgence in red wine yesterday. DAMN!
