Mirena Birth Control

Recently had a visit with the Doc, she suggested I might want to check Mirena out. I'm plenty familiar with IUD's ( thats what I'm currently using, just a different type). What is levonorgestrel anyways?? A hormone? I've been all over the Mirena site and I can't see if it's NOT recommended for smokers?? Any of you ladies have any experience with this?? Good, bad ?? Thanks for the help.

I found this on WebMD. I don't put a lot of faith in that site, and certainly one comment isn't much of anything. I would ask your doctor, if you haven't already done so, if there is more risk to smokers who use Mirena.

I've not used this product, so I'm sorry that I can't offer a personal comment.
