I saw someone mention in the "Free Time" thread that they like to nap. I was wondering how many others like to take naps... or are you the type that can't sleep during the day. If I'm tired enough I can nap pretty easily. I'm also very good at the 15 minute nap if I know I need a nap and have limited time, I will set an alarm for 20 minutes and just lay down on the bed and try to relax. Somewhere in there I get enough rest that when the alarm goes off I feel refreshed. |

I love to sleep, so napping is definitely in my book of indulgences. I've only been a nap taker since I started working from home. Makes sense, I'm here by myself and my time is my own. I can fall into bed whenever I want, and I do just that. A nap for me is never less than an hour, and usually two hours. Rarely do I set an alarm because I hate alarm clocks. But sometimes I have a tight schedule that requires I awake at an exact time so I set it and find I never sleep as well. When I began napping in the middle of the day it embarrassed me, even though I only nap a couple times a month. I felt this must be a sign of getting old. But since you, Julie, are around 30 years old and admit to enjoying a little shut eye midday, I feel I can come out of the closet. ![]() LM |

I don't sleep well most nights so I usually do nap during the day. It seems to be a bad cycle...no sleep at night, nap during the day, which makes it harder to go to sleep at night, which leads to a nap the next day. Teresa |

I don't nap. Only because, as I'm sure Amelia will agree, once I get to sleep... I'm usually out pretty heavily. And if I'm woken up "early", I tend to be something of a grump. As such... once I'm asleep.... I'm asleep. That being said, I don't nearly get as much sleep as I should. Like, now, for example. I should be in bed snoozing. Instead I'm in SB. That can't be too healthy. |

Sometimes about 2:30 in the afternoon I get so sleepy I can hardly keep my eyes open. So, I go get a cup of strong coffee, knock it back, close my door, put my feet up, pretend I am reading some report or other and drift off. In about 20 minutes the caffeine starts kicking in and I snap out of it, good to go til quittin' time. |

Never intentionally. Even when I know I need one, and set aside time to do so, it never seems to work out. But there are times when I've been tired enought that I nodded off while reading/watching a movie/chatting online. =) |

This is my favorite past time with MrVan on the weekends that we are alone in the house with no kids..I like to take naps more during the winter than the summer and mostly when it is football season..I love to cuddle on the couch with MrVan and nap... ![]() During the summer I may actually take a nap while floating around in the pool but that is normally not intentional, it just becomes so relaxing that I end up sleeping for a bit. ![]() MrsVan |

I used to like to nap, all through my adult life and when I was in Iraq. I was a napping fool. I came home from there and havent had a nap since. That was late 2006. Hell I havent even slept at night without meds since then. But I remember napping fondly. |

I love a good nap. It's one of my favorite things. If I'm not working, a little 1 1/2 hour nap in the early afternoon is just right. If I am working, I can catch a 15 minute nap during my lunch, and it gets me through the rest of the day. I actually have to be very careful in the evening. If I'm tired and nod off for just 1 or 2 minutes, I become wide awake and will not be able to fall asleep that night. |

Me, the mr. can't sleep during the day, just doesn't happen. No matter how tired; I think it's an internal thing that I'm afraid I'm missing something. On only a couple occasions has there been an exception; with drug influinces, after a severe allergy attack and treatment, and on pain meds after an accident / surgery. No, the better half loves to sleep and nap. Just wishes I'd go let her sleep a bit more often, I think. |

I am a full time college student and having at least a thirty minute nap time does help me deal with a gastly load of homework each night.
