Mrs here- I am in a total fitness funk & it is starting to show. I just cannot get motivated for some reason. I have never had this problem so badly before. I got too comfortable laying around the boat this summer drinking margaritas & now I am paying the price. Is anyone else going through this right now, and if so-how about starting a little support group thread where we can come to get encouragment & post when we've done something good? Anyone up for it or should I just shut up? |

I am so up for it - and I'll bet I can get Mrs Spoo in as well! We are doing pretty well on thefitness - but we need something to get us past the holidays and through the winter. I'm in! Besides - if I ever get to Texas, I want to bring my "A" game ![]() Spoomonkey |

Add me to the list! In the past 10 months I've lost almost 40 pounds and have actually seen some muscles appear. I'm looking for ways to up my current workout and try to budge the last 25.... With winter coming and the inevitable week off from the gym at thanksgiving AND at xmas AND over spring break, plus our smooth slide into the lifestyle really makes me want to get out there and look even better. I'd love to hear what other ladies do workout-wise (when they ARE doing it ) and try to get some new ideas.GG |

You can add Mrs. GT and Myself to the list. We decided last week we were going to hit it hard so we would be in good shape for our vacation. Well as you can read in another thread the vacation is postponed for a while but we still need to start a little more working out. We actually started last weekend and jumped on the treadmill for a bit but we are having the same problem as you seem to be having and didn't follow through very well this week.

That would be such a monsterously wonderful idea!!! I have been suffering for well over a month now from some pretty horrible knee pain and have finally been given the okay to start back on the bike and walking (if it doesn't get too cold too soon ). I find it really hard to convince myself to get going on this (especially when my poor knees go snap crackle and pop ). I think we may just be able to motivate each other to do something!

Okay everyone, how did our week go? I worked out about 50% of what I had planned. Instead of beating myself up I am going to tell myself 'good job' & 'that's 50% better than nothing at all'! In all fairness, I'm sick again(seems to be a trend-I work in a high school-cooties everywhere). This next week I'll do better. Updates anyone? |

I was pretty faithful to exercise... I skipped today because I haven't taken a day off in a while. I worked this weekend and let me tell ya - making beer (the part I do anyway) is a pretty serious part of my exercise routine... My down fall has been food - and beer - this week... We started a new work schedule so we have been eating later at night - and for some reason, working later gives me the munchies really bad... So, we are eating our meals (all healthy and portioned correctly by my own personal trainer - Mrs Spoo) differently than usual - heavier in the morning and lighter as the day goes by - until we aren't eating anything after five... This plan with save Mrs Spoo from having to cook at night - but I am not sure she sees that as a benefit since she loves to cook. We'll see how it goes ![]() Who's next? Spoomonkey |

There was a thread some where on here that said that the more you exercised and stay fit the better sex is. Now who needs more of a reason to get off their ass and go work out?! hehe... I usually run 3 times a week for a total of 9 miles. I used to do the weight thing but I just didn't really like being a gym rat, the people in there were not friendly at all, and I just didn't like the feeling of never going anywhere like I do when I run. So I stopped lifting and started running more and riding my bike everywhere. |

Good job Spoo and MM 50% is better than not at all!! I skipped my Monday run and my Tuesday weight session as I have a cold and can't breath very well. I made myself do my Wed. run but went really slow, but at least I finished it. I plan on doing my normal weight routine tonight but it really seems like this week got off to a slow start. As for the food part I pretty much stayed on the diet since I cant taste anything anyway with this darn cold D |

well, I can personally say that the more I exercise and the more fit I get, the hornier I get, so yes, growguy can most definitely agree with you! This week started badly exercise-wise, but wonderfully every other way... (eggs benedict for sunday brunch) Today is the first day back to the gym after three days of trying to catch up on my sleep and energy. It's becoming increasingly obvious that pulling a near-all-nighter over the weekend is for the younger crowd! So today and tomorrow will be "easy" days, then next week I'll start adding some strength training (weights). Hey 50% is better than 0%, your sports bottle is half full, not half empty! Take care, GG | |

Happy to report that I dusted off the exercise bike and planted my ass there for a good 40 minutes after I put the kid to bed. My knees crunched and creaked but I continued onward (dr. permission of course)....then I rounded out the cycling with a bunch of abdominal exercises....and then..because I had all the energy from the exercise...I attacked hubby (okay I had to burn some calories there right!!!) I even ate well this week...alll in all very proud of myself.... |

OK, I feel worse now, it seems everybody did much better than I did. I had planned on doing three sessions of weights and at least two 1/2 hour sessions on the treadmill. What I actually acomplished is one 1/2 hour session on the treadmill for the week. While I guess that is better than nothing, I vow to do better in the next week. Now if I could just figure out a way not to be so busy that I end up eating dinner two hours at most before I go to bed. this late dinner thing is killing me. So I guess I'm low man this week at 20%. |

I made it to the Gym 3 times this week which included a two mile run on the treadmill and an hour on the weights each day. I'm not going today but hope to make it tomorrow to make 4 times this week which is my goal. I must admit though I have a little bit of an advantage. I work nights & mrs naughty and the kids are gone during the day so I leave for work 2 hours early to hit the gym. Since I am just sitting home by myself anyway it is pretty easy to get the motiviation to go to the gym because I really can't think of an excuse not to. |

Our new diet approach has it's ups and downs... I got on the elliptical this morning - I do the twenty minute BFL routine that is absolutely butt kicking... To give you an idea, after running the half marathon, I started doing the BFL interval workout... Made it six minutes the first time... Anyway - I went 2.25 miles in twenty minutes and thought I was going to faint. I didn't perk up until an hour into work... The lack of food last night really played hell this morning... Sooo... That might not work... Back to the drawing board... Spoomonkey |
