I was thinking about how it's pretty much commonplace to see shaved (or at least very well trimmed) genitalia in both women and men in the lifestyle. I can't tell you the last time I saw a hairy bush (probably mine 15 years ago?). That got me thinking, did you shave prior to swinging? would you still shave if you weren't swinging? For that matter, why do you shave? I can't recall if I started shaving before or after I started swinging. I know the first time was when I was dating my now hubby (over 15 years ago) he shaved me as part of play one night. It was also the first time he ever went down on me (as the pubic hair was a huge turn-off for him towards the idea of "eating out"). I believe that after that I did at least start keeping it well trimmed, but I'm not sure I started shaving it right away. Over the years I've continued to keep it shaved just because now I hate the feeling when there is hair down there.

I would like somebody to explain to me the current standard of Vaginal (and Penile, for that matter) appearance. Since my divorce, almost every woman I have had sex with, married or otherwise, has had a bare puss. Why? I can understand that you trim you bush for bathing suits, but I can see no other good reason to peel yourself like a grape. Is it to make yourself feel younger? Do you WANT to look like a pre-teen girl or boy?. I don't get it.

We never discovered the joys of Mrs. Alura being hairless until she was undergoing chemotherapy and lost all her hair. We both loved the feeling when we made love, and she liked the ease of drying herself after urinating. We decided to keep her that way after her hair grew back. Shaving her is a team effort. This is the way we do it: Equipment we use: Two wide-mouthed insulated jars containing warm water. One also has two wash cloths in it. Hair conditioner. Two new three-bladed razors. A cordless mustache trimmer. Several bath towels. Two hand towels. Dove Stick Deodorant. I lay the towels on the edge of the bed and the other equipment near at hand. We take a shower together, drying our bodies but leaving her bikini area damp. Mrs. Alura sits on the towels and lies back onto several pillows. She raises and opens her thighs so that I can place pillows under them to relieve the ache of having them spread so long. I kneel on a cushion beside the bed and she places a foot on each of my shoulders. Using my tongue as a tool, I gently spread her labia apart and smooth them out as much as possible. Occasionally I flick my tongue across her clit to make sure she's awake. I slide my left index finger under her left labia and grasp it lightly with my thumb, gently stretching it taut. Using the mustache trimmer, I remove as much hair as possible, moving against the grain with the flat side of the trimmer. I've heard some folks suggest working with the grain but we find we can do a better job our way. We've never hurt her. I do her right labia the same way. The mound is more straight forward; I just trim it against the grain. I thoroughly coat the area to be shaved with hair conditioner, rubbing it into the stubble. Stretching the labia as above I shave it smooth with the three-bladed razors, again using the "against the grain" technique. I rinse the razor often in one of the warm-water jugs to wash away the hair cuttings. I work the razor from the middle of the crack of her butt outward, overlapping in the center. When I think I've done a pretty good job, I use one of the warm wash cloths to remove as much hair conditioner as possible. I don't dip the washcloth back into the water. Instead, I use the second one to finish the conditioner cleanup. To make sure I've not missed anything, I flatten my tongue and slide it over the shaved area, paying particular attention to the edges of her labia where it's easy for missed hairs to hide. Any stragglers are removed with a wet razor, dipped in the conditioner-rich water of the jug I've been using to rinse the razor. When I'm satisfied that she's shaved as well as possible, I like to re-open the labia with my tongue and flick across her clitoris several times before pushing as deeply into her vagina as possible, (Damn, she tastes good!) before returning to tongue-massage her clit until she grips the pillows and starts moaning. Soon, the moans will change to "I want your cock! Fuck me!!!" Of course, I comply with her wishes. Afterward, she rinses in the shower, dries, and rubs Dove deodorant stick on the shaved area. Ok, it seems like so much from the 70's and 80's is coming back in vogue... the skinny jeans, gouchos, men's mustaches and long hair. So many of us shave our pubes (guys and girls) in this lifestyle. Do you think if shaving goes out of vogue in general, would you stop shaving because the "in" thing became a full bush? Or do you think you'd keep it shaved? If shaving went out of general fashion, would it still be in fashion for swingers? Maybe some of you who can remember swinging in the 70's will fill us in on what going down was like back in the day of big bushes... would YOU want to go back to that? -
I had to laugh today watching Fox News. A female reporter was discussing the Reno sex predator murder, when she brought up a "sick fact"..."he has a shaved pubic region"...."we know that's sick, but we want this guy caught". The reason I laughed was because more and more males are shaving. So I thought I'd throw up a poll. I've never posted a poll, so I hope I'm doing this correctly. In reading other threads I often see people say that because of the lifestyle they take better care of their bodies, go to greater extent to stay in shape, etc. Whenever I see this I can't help but think "why didn't you do that for your spouse? or for yourself?" Why did it take swinging to make you want to take better care of your body? And what is it about swinging that makes you want to do so? I think it's fairly common that people take better care of themselves when they are single and therefore trying to attract potential partners. Too often when we get comfortable in a relationship we take those things for granted... as women we may stop butting so much effort into making sure we have makeup on before we leave the house or for all of us making sure our clothes are just right. So I can see how we get to the point that we don't do what we should to present ourselves, but what is about swinging that changes that? And beyond that, if your partner is one of those that has started making more of an effort to present themselves since you've started pursuing swinging, how does that make you feel? Do you ever feel jealous that they didn't make that effort for you but now they are willing to for others?
